Chapter 284: Chapter 284: The Dead Pig Fears No Scalding Water
The room was silent.
After a brief moment of shock, Franklin Ford knew what was going on.
Summer Monroe couldn’t defend herself, so she was starting to lash out.
He looked at Summer Monroe with indifference and sarcasm, wondering what else this woman had up her sleeve.
"Director Ford, I know that your shareholding is lower than mine, and I’ve always thought it was unfair. But it’s not easy for a woman like me to struggle in the company. Can you stop putting the blame on me?"
The number of onlookers grew, unwilling to loudly discuss, but whispers spread quickly.
Eyes watching with concealed discontent, like invisible swords, were all directed at Franklin Ford.
But Summer Monroe felt it wasn’t enough. She raised her voice a notch, putting on a righteous front.
"Director Ford, in the workplace, it’s all about individual capability. Don’t think you can bully me just because I’m a woman. We have gender equality now, you know?"
Her words hinted at gender issues, and most of the onlookers were women.
Soon enough, some people were openly rolling their eyes at Franklin Ford.
Franklin Ford smirked inwardly, his cold gaze rested on Summer Monroe for a long time.
His thin lips moved slightly, and his words were like nails.
"Summer Monroe, those who do evil will destroy themselves. Take care."
With that, he turned and left.

Meanwhile, in the design factory.
The workshop was extremely noisy, but Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan seemed oblivious, following the workshop supervisor along the assembly line for inspections.
Upon finishing one line, Evelyn Clayton stopped, her elegant eyebrows knitted, silent for a long time.
Yara Reagan also noticed something was wrong. The degree of these poorly made items was a far cry from what was required on the design drawings.
She glanced at Evelyn Clayton’s expression and said irritably to the workshop supervisor.
"Have the responsible worker for this line come over."
The workshop supervisor quickly complied and called over the worker.
The worker seemed older, presumably a senior employee at the factory.
When he arrived, the worker’s expression was indifferent, slightly negligent.
Evelyn Clayton didn’t care about these attitudes; what mattered most was getting the job done well.
"Are you the responsible worker for this assembly line?" Evelyn Clayton looked serious, "Why didn’t I see you there just now?"
The worker responded with a bit of indifference, "I just went to the bathroom. Nature calls, should I not be allowed to use the restroom while working?"
Such a shamelessly defiant attitude!
A cold glint passed through Evelyn Clayton’s eyes, and she let out a light chuckle, "Fine, let’s talk about the work issue. The workshop supervisor and I have discussed the design requirements before. Do you think the results from your line are satisfactory?"
"Why wouldn’t it be satisfactory?" The worker frowned, "Boss, we’re just doing our job for pay, are we going to fool you?"
Yara Reagan did not have Evelyn Clayton’s patience, and her tone immediately turned sharp.
"You actually dare to ask us? What kind of attitude is that? Look at your line’s design, does it meet the requirements from the previously issued documents?"
The worker’s voice suddenly rose, more forceful than Yara Reagan’s attitude.
"Second Boss, have some heart! Every stitch and seam is according to the requirements! We’re almost done now, what do you mean by this? Do you want us to rework everything?"
Seeing him play the victim, Evelyn Clayton remained unfazed, responding indifferently, "Yes, it’s unsatisfactory, everything needs to be reworked."
"Rework?" The worker’s eyes widened instantly, "No way! We’re almost finished, who’s going to pay for the overtime? Are we expected to work for free?"
His voice was nearly shrill, and his confrontational attitude instantly angered Yara Reagan.
Yara Reagan rolled up her sleeves, ready to step forward, sneering repeatedly.
"Overtime pay? You’re lucky we’re not docking your pay for doing such a lousy job! You still dare to ask for overtime pay, do you want two free coffins too?"
