Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Didn’t Dare to Come Over for Meals for Several Days

Hmph, I will make him dislike you for sure! After all, she didn’t do anything extraordinary. This little imp definitely doesn’t have any reasons to be beaten up again. Else, auntie will give him a hard time.

So, when Yang Chuxia went in, Qian Xiaoqing obstinately stood next to Brother An. She even tried to strike up a conversation with Brother An. She acted as if nothing had happened at noon.

Even during dinner time, she had to sit close to Brother An; one moment she serves vegetables for Brother An, and the next she’s filling his bowl with soup.

Everyone at the table was watching her. Although Yang Chuxia didn’t know what she wanted to do, she still felt irritated watching her. Especially when she saw disgust growing on Brother An’s face, Yang Chuxia was just about to lose her temper.

Damn it, where did this little imp come from? Is she trying to seduce Brother An, or what?

However, this time Ms.Wang stopped her, because Ms.Liu of Wang Family had spoken. Not only did she scold Ms.Qian of Wang Family, but she also lectured Qian Xiaoqing at the dinner table. The words of her niece had really annoyed Ms.Qian of Wang Family, she felt she had lost face. Therefore, she gave Qian Xiaoqing a severe lecture after dinner.

Nevertheless, that Qian Xiaoqing seemed to be unrepentant. She had been scolded by Ms.Liu of Wang Family and her Aunt Ms.Qian of Wang Family before, but the next day when Brother An came over, she restored her old self.

This made Brother An afraid to come to Yang Chuxia’s house for several days, even for dinner.

Fortunately, Ms. Liu of Wang Family and others didn’t stay in their house for long, they left after a few days. After they left, Ms. Wang asked Yang Chuxia to invite Ye Zi’an for dinner again. She felt guilty towards Ye Zi’an and especially cooked a good meal for him.

"Mother, remember to cook extra rice at noon and prepare some meat and vegetables." The villagers had been busy these past few days, and Land Officer Yang had gone to the village to hire workers the day before. As soon as the villagers heard they would be working at Yang Chuxia’s house where the wage is high and meals are provided, they readily agreed.

So, early this morning, Yang Dachuan took the hired workers to the field.

"I know, I won’t forget. You two be careful going to the town. Remember to call your Uncle Dayong later, and return early after you’ve gotten the things." Ms. Wang promised while instructing Yang Chuxia.

"Yes, I understand, I will be careful."

With that said, Yang Chuxia and Brother An headed towards the village exit. Shopkeeper Li sent a message through Ye Zi’an yesterday, saying that the broad bean seeds have arrived in Wangquan Town. He also brought some other seeds and asked Yang Chuxia if she wanted them, if not, he would sell them in the grain shops.

Yang Chuxia didn’t know what those other seeds were, so she wanted to go to the town to have a look. Maybe there would be some good items.

Although those thieves hadn’t been caught these days, some girls in the nearby areas have disappeared. So, Ms. Wang allowed her to go, but she insisted that an adult must accompany her. Since Yang Dachuan couldn’t accompany her, Yang Dayong was chosen to go with her and Ye Zi’an.

By the time they got to the village exit, Uncle Dayong had already harnessed the ox cart and was waiting for her and Brother An.

"Come on quick!"

Uncle Dayong waved at them from afar.

"Uncle Dayong! You’ve been waiting for us for a long time, haven’t you?" Once Yang Chuxia and Ye Zi’an got onto the ox cart, they asked.

"Yes, indeed, I’ve been waiting for a long time." Uncle Dayong said with a smile. But he wasn’t complaining. He then added, "You didn’t know about your aunt’s impulsiveness. Last night, your father came to my house and told me to accompany you to town today. Early this morning, before the dawn, your aunt woke me up."
