Chapter 390: Chapter 403: Crazy Fans

Mabel Quinn furrowed her brows, sensing Grace Yowell’s malicious intent. Perhaps when she met up with Kyle tonight, it would be time to tell him about this, to prevent the situation from escalating further.

As Mabel was about to leave work, she picked up her bag and headed to the restroom, intending to touch up her makeup before departing. However, a stranger stopped her in front of the restroom.

"You’re the woman who scalded Grace Yowell with coffee at the café yesterday, aren’t you?" the man asked fiercely.

Mabel cautiously stepped back and said, "Who are you?"

"How dare you treat my goddess like that? Go to hell!" The man suddenly became menacing and lunged at Mabel...

Almost at the same time, Daniel Harris was at Grace Yowell’s residence, his face cold as he said, "Why did you post such a tweet?"

"I was just casually expressing my feelings, it’s not a big deal," Grace Yowell said, feigning grievance.

"But didn’t I say yesterday? This matter ends here!" Daniel retorted.

Grace bit her red lip and said, "I was only tweeting to vent my feelings, besides, I didn’t even name Mabel Quinn as the one responsible. Daniel, you want me not to sue Mabel Quinn, okay, I promise you that. You want this matter to end here, okay, I promise that too. But it’s because I love you, so I’m willing to listen to you, willing to do this. But Daniel, have you thought about whether this is fair to me?"

Daniel’s body tensed slightly.

Tears welled in Grace’s eyes as she suddenly threw herself into Daniel’s arms, "Daniel, what has Mabel Quinn done for you that you always side with her, while I... I can give up everything for you. During that storm, it bound us together. You said even your life could be mine, yet you refuse to give me a bit of your affection. Why do you treat me this way? Am I really so unworthy of your love?"

Daniel looked down at the person in his arms with a steady gaze. If he could, he too hoped he could love Grace; perhaps that would be best, but... emotions are not like life, something you can give at will. Even if he wanted to give, she clung to him like this, yet he could still look at her trembling shoulders calmly.

In the past, when he couldn’t see, he enjoyed the feeling of being with her—a comfort, a sense of having someone precious by his side whom he wanted to protect at all costs.

Perhaps that feeling back then was a kind of affection; a fifteen-year-old boy liking a ten-year-old girl, not daring to imagine any future. Because at that time, he was blind, a blind person who couldn’t even see his own future clearly.

He dared not have any thoughts about her, as if it would be sacrilege.

But now, why could he watch Grace so calmly? Could it be that as he aged, those feelings had also disappeared?

"Grace, if I could, I wish I loved you, but..."

"Don’t say ’but’!" Grace abruptly interrupted Daniel, "Daniel, as long as you are willing to love me, I’ll make myself better, more worthy of you, and..."

Suddenly, a ringtone interrupted Grace’s voice.

Daniel pulled out his phone, and upon hearing what was said, his expression changed drastically, "What did you say? Say it again?"
