Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Do You Think I’m Dead!

Gu Yan watched Qin Junnan’s car disappear down the road, and only then did she muster the strength to pick up the bag and head to the Lixin Villa District.

It was about a twenty-minute walk from here to the villa, but to Gu Yan, it felt as long as two hours.

The sun was setting at this time; it wasn’t very hot, but it made people feel sleepy and completely drained.

Gu Yan felt her legs going weak as she walked.

Stopping and starting, it took more than half an hour to finally see the stone sign of the Lixin Villa District.

Gu Yan breathed a sigh of relief and continued her struggle.

When she finally managed to get back and opened the door, she found Tang Yuxiu leisurely sitting on the sofa, and she felt a suffocating frustration in her heart.

"I’m back," Gu Yan said weakly.

Tang Yuxiu was watching TV and didn’t even acknowledge her words.

Gu Yan thought he must be angry about her attitude toward him that afternoon. She understood, so she quietly changed her shoes and took the things to the kitchen.

As she passed in front of Tang Yuxiu, he didn’t even blink, his whole demeanor radiating a message of indifference and heartlessness.

Gu Yan cleared away the vegetables bought the day before and neatly sorted the newly bought ingredients while stealing glances at Tang Yuxiu.

Tang Yuxiu, with his sullen face, not speaking or acknowledging her, felt terrifying.

She didn’t dare to approach him to chat.

She washed rice and plugged in the rice cooker to cook it, then had to prepare to cook some dishes.

Since it was her fault for upsetting Tang Yuxiu that afternoon, she felt she had to take the initiative to apologize.

The more you got to know Tang Yuxiu, the more you’d realize he wasn’t actually that bad, just a bit sharp-tongued and occasionally seemed like he needed a slap.

She dawdled out of the kitchen, stood behind the sofa, and looked at Tang Yuxiu, asking softly, "Boss, what do you want for dinner?"

Tang Yuxiu continued to watch TV as if he hadn’t heard her.

She took a deep breath and spoke again, "Boss, I was wrong this afternoon; I shouldn’t have given you attitude. Tell me what you want for dinner; I promise you won’t see a single dish you dislike on the table."

With that, she stared intently at Tang Yuxiu’s face, hoping for some reaction from him.

Finally, Tang Yuxiu moved. He slightly turned his head to look at her, but his eyes were as cold as ice, causing Gu Yan’s heart to beat anxiously.

"Boss, what’s wrong?"

"Oh, so having met with your old lover, you felt better and now talk to me nicely? Should I thank Qin Junnan then!"

Gu Yan’s eyes showed confusion, "What are you talking about? What’s it got to do with Senior?"

"Senior? That’s an intimate term, Gu Yan. I remember telling you when I gave you a million that you had three days to cut off ties with your men outside. Now you’re my kept woman, yet you’re still meeting with other men. Do you take me for a fool?"

Tang Yuxiu spoke word by word, his expression growing colder, and his tone held a cold anger.

Yet Gu Yan couldn’t understand a word he said, "What man, what meeting? Are you misunderstanding something?"

"Misunderstanding?" Tang Yuxiu suddenly sneered, his eyes full of sarcasm, "I always believe what I see with my own eyes, and this time, I’ve verified it personally."

"What have you verified? Could you please clarify?"

"Gu Yan, don’t pretend to be all innocent and clueless. Is this the same act you use to fool those men outside too? Hmm? Qin Junnan must be one of them."

"Tang Yuxiu, you’re always bringing up Senior—what does the thing I did this afternoon that upset you have to do with him?"
