Chapter 353: Chapter 352: Camille’s situation 4
Before Treyton could finish assigning Zam to watch over Camille, Camille immediately interrupted.
"Nooo! I’m not willing to let him stay with me in the room. Boss, assign others to watch over me, not Zam," Camille said in protest.
As soon as Camille protested, Zam’s expression became even colder.
"Why aren’t you willing to let Zam watch over you?" Treyton asked in obvious puzzlement.
The others, who were also listening to the conversation, were puzzled as well, because Camille had always wanted to have more time with Zam whenever they weren’t busy.
Only a few people, including Luciel, who was also listening, had a hunch as to why Camille didn’t want Zam to be the one watching over him.
"No, I will certainly turn uglier and uglier later. I don’t know if I could succeed in awakening before turning into such an ugly zombie.
I know that my greatest asset is my looks, so I certainly can’t show such ugliness to Zam.
If I succeed in awakening my ability very late, then he would have seen me becoming uglier. How could I even succeed in chasing him afterwards?
And even if I don’t succeed in awakening and really become a zombie, I would rather not be remembered by Zam in such an ugly appearance," Camille said seriously.
Camille was obviously very aware of his looks, and he also valued them greatly.
Camille is a person who’s attracted to good-looking people, so he also valued his own appearance very much.
When Luciel saw him for the first time, it was obvious that Camille was very busy and didn’t have too much time to look after himself, but he was still very tidy and well maintained.
When Camille was finally with them and had a lot of resources to use, he would always take his time managing his face and body.
When they were dividing some of their supplies, Camille always had a lot of sets for managing himself.
Most of the people in their group only cared about the basic maintenance of their face and body, and others didn’t even care at all as long as they washed up using soap.
Luciel was one of the lazy ones and would only apply some moisturizer after bathing.
As for the other routines he used to have when he was an actor, he completely ignored them, thinking they were just too troublesome.
When Camille heard that Luciel had been ignoring his maintenance routines, he immediately began recommending products that Luciel could use for his hair, face, and body, but Luciel just ignored his suggestions.
Camille also suggested some to the other members, and only a few were interested in following some of his recommendations, like Jane and the other women on the team, and just a few of the men.
Camille was very good at taking care of himself, so he became even more beautiful after staying with the team.
And as someone who cared a lot about looks, it was somewhat predictable that he wouldn’t want Zam to see him while turning into a zombie. That’s why Luciel and a few others had a hunch about it.
"Don’t worry. No matter what you look like later, my perception of you won’t change. I’ll be sure to remember the most beautiful you," Zam said seriously.
"Wow, I appreciate that very much, but still no. I at least want someone who can talk to me so I won’t have time to think negative thoughts."
"Don’t worry. I will certainly talk to you," Zam said to Camille, then turned to Treyton and said, "I’ll take him to another room now."
Afterward, Zam pulled Camille with him.
"H-Hey! I haven’t agreed yet!" Camille said while being pulled by Zam. However, it was obvious that Camille didn’t resist much, as he was also following Zam and didn’t even pull his hand away from Zam’s hold.
So, Luciel and the others just watched as Zam and Camille disappeared from view.
When the two were gone, Luciel saw that the others looked at each other, clearly wanting to say something, but because of the situation they were in and with the crying kids, they didn’t bring it up.
"Derek, don’t forget to bring some food and other things that they’ll be using for 24 hours," Treyton said to Derek, then turned to the others.
"I know everyone is feeling down at the moment, but don’t forget to rest first before loitering outside the room where Zam and Camille are staying.
Let us all stay positive and wait for Camille to awaken his ability," Treyton said.
"Yeah, but don’t forget to prepare yourselves for the worst-case scenario," Luciel reminded them and stood up to go to the room that had already been prepared for them.
"Yang, continue the room assignments and proper preparation for the cold weather and the possible blizzard coming later. Wes, you’ll be in charge of overall security this time. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the weather..."
Treyton continued reminding them of more things before following Luciel to their room.
When Luciel entered, he just sat down on the sofa and sat there languidly without doing anything.
When Treyton entered the room, he sat in front of him and immediately brought out a beer from their shared space.
Treyton opened the beer right away, took a drink, and then spoke.
"I thought we were already doing great in protecting everybody in the team from being infected, but it seems that it still isn’t enough," Treyton said, and drank some more beer.
"Don’t think too much. That’s just how life is," Luciel said slowly.
Their team had indeed been prepared and cautious, which was why no one had been injured or bitten by zombies until now.
Treyton and the others always made sure that the members were properly dressed and always assigned the right people when dealing with any situation outside the base.
Treyton, Zam, Wes, Myla, and Mia had always been watching the other members in combat, constantly adjusting their arrangements after seeing any improvements or changes in the combat ability of the team members.
