Chapter 351: Chapter 350: Camille’s situation 2

"Wow, I could actually hear a lot of sentences from you this time," Camille said with a smile.

"Fortunately, you hadn’t agreed with my pursuit yet. If you had, I would be so reluctant to leave. Well, I’m a bit reluctant to leave because I haven’t had enough of seeing handsome guys every day—"

Camille was still talking, but Zam cut him off and said, "You haven’t answered me yet. How could you even be infected when you haven’t fought zombies at the very front?"

"Wow, it seems that you’re really talking a lot today, which is nice," Camille said with a smile.

"Camille," Zam said with a very serious expression.

"I know, I know," Camille said, and then continued, "I wasn’t bitten or injured by any zombies at all. However, I was slightly grazed by an arrow while dodging them a while ago. I thought I dodged it successfully because I didn’t feel anything. However, I just checked my leg a while ago, and I was actually grazed by the arrow."

As Camille was speaking, he also used his dagger to cut away the pants he was wearing, just 3 inches above his right knee.

"Look at this," he said. "I was just slightly grazed by their arrow, but it’s already turning black."

Luciel and the others could indeed clearly see that Camille was only slightly grazed by an arrow, as the wound on his leg hadn’t seeped out blood at all; the arrow had just scraped a bit of his skin. However, the area around the wound, about 2 inches in diameter, was already blackened, and it was obviously still spreading.

"I know, even if I cut off my leg, my blood’s already contaminated, so I would surely turn into a zombie later."

They had already seen many people cut off their arms and legs when they were injured or bitten by zombies, but unfortunately, they still turned into zombies.

Camille, who had worked as a nurse, had probably seen more cases like this, so he already knew that it would be useless even if he cut off his leg.

"I know it’s useless. Besides, I don’t want to cut it off at all, as it would just add more pain. I’m going to be a zombie in a few hours, so I don’t need any room allocation.

Boss Treyton, Boss Luciel, everyone, I’m really grateful for all your support up until now. Being part of this group, I’ve experienced so many good things over the past few months.

I was able to live comfortably without any problems, with good food and shelter always around. I also learned a lot of things, which were beyond just my occupation.

You guys are really great teammates. You’re so accommodating and willing to share what you have.

More importantly, there are a lot of handsome guys on the team, which has been a very joyful matter for me.

I also had a really happy time chasing Zam," Camille said, turning to Zam. "Zam, thank you so much for letting me chase you around, even though I’m sure you don’t like me yet.

I promised I’d make you like me; fortunately, I haven’t succeeded yet. But seriously, thank you for giving me room to pester you."

Camille smiled at Zam, then turned back to everyone and said, "Really, thank you all so much. I’ve had a very happy time since joining this team."

Then Camille’s tone shifted, becoming more apologetic. "I’m really sorry I couldn’t do much for the team in the end. I haven’t even done anything to return the investment you had for me."

"I’ll go to the first floor and lock myself in one of the rooms there. After 24 hours, please kill the zombie version of me. Even if I don’t have any memories left after becoming a zombie, I don’t want that version of me to be eating anything disgusting, so please, kill me afterward."

After Camille’s words, the fourth floor fell into complete silence.

Someone turning into a zombie was probably common in other groups, as not everyone could avoid being bitten or injured while fighting zombies outside.

However, their team had been capable enough to avoid such injuries. That’s why they were all silent after Camille spoke, as this was the first time they’d likely lose someone due to zombie infection.

"I see. It would probably be more painful if you had to feel yourself turning into a zombie slowly. Want me to end it for you now? You won’t feel a thing," Luciel offered.

He had seen many people beg for an immediate death because of the intense pain they felt and their fear of dying slowly while waiting for the inevitable.

So, Luciel just offered Camille another option.

"As I thought, you’re really very rational. Thanks for your offer, but there’s no need. I indeed hate being in pain, but it would just be too cruel for you if you really had to do that."

"Not really. I’m already used to it. It’s just a matter of whether you want it or not," Luciel said nonchalantly. He had done a lot of similar things before, so it’s really not difficult for him.

"There’s really no need. I can bear it on my own. It’s my fault for not dodging the arrow properly a while ago."

"I see, that’s fine too. I’ve heard that those who get infected have a chance to awaken their abilities. Even though the chance is very small, less than one percent, the possibility is still there. I hope you’ll be one of the few who can awaken, even after being infected."

"Wow, I haven’t heard of that, but thanks anyway. At least I still have a small glimmer of hope to avoid death," Camille said with a relieved smile.

It was clear that Camille had already accepted his fate, but knowing there was still a slim chance of survival gave him some comfort.

Well, only a few would be willing to die if they knew there was still a chance they could survive.
