Chapter 179 My Mr. Lu is Too Popular

A person in luck enjoys a cheerful mood.

Su He was in an exceptionally good mood after signing the first artist for her studio.

Sharing joy with others is better than keeping it to oneself!

To celebrate the establishment of the studio's film and television department, Su He booked a table at a high-end club and invited all the studio staff for a fun night out.

Su He made sure to inform Lu Yanbei early that she would be home late.

Lu Yanbei pursed his lips, displeased, upon receiving her message.

When his wife was idle, he worried she might be bored, so he found something for her to do. The studio was intended to keep her occupied. He never expected her to become so engrossed and seriously pursue a career!

Having a career, she had even forgotten about him, her husband. This made him very unhappy.

"Around what time will you be home?" he asked, a grim smile tugging at his lips.

"Around ten," Su He replied, touching up her makeup in the mirror. It had been a while since she last put on makeup; she felt a little unaccustomed to it. While her usual casual attire was acceptable at home, she needed to present herself formally in front of her employees to maintain authority.

So late? Lu Yanbei's brow furrowed at the news.

However, he couldn't bring himself to be angry with Su He, so he compromised. "Address."

Su He paused.

Didn't he dislike noisy gatherings?

"Are you coming?" she asked.

"To pick you up," Lu Yanbei answered curtly.

Su He turned a full circle in front of the mirror, withdrawing her gaze with satisfaction. "Alright! See you tonight then!"

"Don't drink too much," Lu Yanbei urged earnestly before hanging up.

"Don't worry, I know my limits," Su He said, grabbing a sparkling clutch and leaving the house with a smile.

Lu Yanbei stared at the darkened screen for a long moment before regaining his senses.

His wife was spoiled by him; he had no choice but to endure!

By the time Su He arrived at the club, the employees had already gathered.

The moment she pushed the door open, the room fell into an immediate silence.

Was this radiant person before them truly their familiar young boss?

Although her face was the same, something felt different!

Perhaps it was because Su He usually appeared very approachable, chatting and laughing with everyone, and her understated style of not wearing flashy jewelry, that some employees had forgotten her status as the boss.

Now, seeing her in formal attire, they felt a little unaccustomed.

Dressed in a pure white suit today, its fashionable design instantly made her the center of attention. The perfectly tailored waistline accentuated her figure, flattering her physique.

Her long hair, casually draped over her shoulders, was elegantly tied up with a pearl headband, and paired with a full set of diamond jewelry from G, she exuded an air of nobility.

This dazzling Su He made everyone present's eyes light up.

If she was like a wild orchid in a secluded valley as a university student before, she was now like a snow lotus on a high mountain—intelligent and elegant, yet somewhat unattainable, instantly creating a distance.

"Hello, Boss!" Someone started, and the others quickly followed suit.

Su He nodded slightly and asked, "Is everyone here?"

"Yes," replied the assistant.

Su He hummed in acknowledgment. "Please, everyone, have a seat. Order whatever you'd like to eat."

"Can we order seafood?" someone asked timidly.

"Anything is fine," Su He replied.

"Long live the Boss!"

"Hooray for the Boss!"

Being young, they started to get rowdy again after a moment of quiet.

Su He shook her head and chose a single table to sit at.

High heels made her look good, but they were too tiring.

The private room not only had various entertainment facilities but also a KTV section. During the evening, many people invited Su He to join them, but she politely declined.

"You all sing, I'll pass," she waved her hand.

"It's more fun to sing together!"

Su He reluctantly chose a familiar English song.

Having not sung for a long time, Su He felt a little nervous. However, once she got into the groove, she gradually found her rhythm. She managed to stay mostly in tune throughout the song.

"Wow, I didn't know the boss's wife could sing so well!"

"This song seems quite old; the boss's playlist is a bit obscure!"

The employees hummed along and tapped their feet to the beat.

When the song ended, they couldn't help but applaud and whistle for her.

"That was fantastic!"

"Sing another one! We haven't heard enough!"

"The Boss is truly talented. We are all ashamed of ourselves!"

Su He didn't believe their flattery and refused to sing a second song. "Don't even think about it. This is all I know."

"How is that possible!"

"The Boss is too modest!"

Su He picked up the drink on the table and took a few sips, only then realizing she had picked up a cocktail. Immediately, her throat felt a burning sensation.

Oh no! She was going to get lectured again when she got home!

Su He's heart sank.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" her assistant asked, noticing her discomfort.

Su He waved her hand. "It's nothing. Could you please get me a juice instead?"

The assistant nodded and brought a glass of fresh watermelon juice.

After a couple of sips, Su He finally managed to suppress the taste of alcohol.

Eating, drinking, and having fun, time always passed quickly.

Su He glanced at her phone; it was already 10:03 PM.

She had been too engrossed watching them dance.

Thinking of the person waiting for her downstairs, Su He felt a pang of guilt. She quickly found his number and dialed. Two seconds later, the call was answered.

"Finished?" Lu Yanbei's deep voice came through.

Su He got up from the bar and walked into the corridor outside to answer the call. "Yes, we can pack up soon."

"Okay, wait there. I'll be there shortly," Lu Yanbei said and hung up.

Su He leaned against the wall, taking a moment to process what had happened.

He was coming up to pick her up?

While Su He was still in a daze, a tall figure approached with steady steps. His black trench coat swirled gracefully with his movements, like a runway model, captivating everyone's attention.

Handsome men always drew a crowd.

Indeed, before he could even reach Su He, a bold woman stepped forward to strike up a conversation.

"You look familiar, handsome. Can I buy you a drink?"

Lu Yanbei didn't even glance at her, walking past her directly.

"Aren't people here for a good time? What's with the standoffish attitude!" The woman, apparently drunk, turned hostile when Lu Yanbei ignored her.

"How much do you want to accompany me for a drink? I'm rich!"

Lu Yanbei, too lazy to deal with the drunken woman, walked straight to Su He. "Why are you standing out here? Aren't you cold?"

He gently held her slightly cool hand.

In full view of everyone, Su He placed her hand on his shoulder. "It's nothing, I just wanted to see how popular my Mr. Lu is!"

Lu Yanbei: ...
