Monday arrived.
Qin He received a call from the funeral home early in the morning.
The leader who had "forced" her to take leave was now extremely respectful.
"Qin He, we have to thank you. Our funeral home received commendation from the city. The director said you can return to work when you have time. However, since you're pregnant, if you don't want to come back, the home can grant you paid leave..."
Qin He, woken up, listened lazily from her bedside.
When she worked at the funeral home before, no one knew she was the eldest daughter of the Qin family.
Now that her identity was known, and coupled with her "merits," they were making things convenient for her.
Qin He had just woken up, her voice still hoarse: "I can't return to work recently. I'll likely need to rest for half a year. It would be best if you could grant me leave; paid leave is not necessary."
She didn't plan to give up the mortician profession, but after preparing Payson's body last time, she realized that even though her body was healthy now, it couldn't handle excessively demanding work.
After the call, Qin He got up to wash.
Downstairs, Ming Yuzhu and Qin Yun were somewhat surprised.
Qin Yun said with concern: "Why are you up so early? Shouldn't you sleep more?"
"I'm pregnant, not sick, brother. Don't worry," Qin He said with a smile.
The three had breakfast. Ming Yuzhu was busy preparing for Qin Yun's wedding.
Qin Yun was occupied with Qin Corporation's affairs and also managing his sweet romance.
Qin He, on the other hand, felt quite leisurely.
After breakfast, she received a message from Mo.
Mo: [The machines have arrived. Treat me to a meal?]
Qin He was instantly wide awake from her grogginess!
She sent a message to Di Shishi, drove from the Qin residence, and excitedly went to the laboratory.
Upon arriving at the villa, she saw Liu Zimo standing by two machines.
The Eight Gods brothers were surrounding the machines, examining them.
Qin He stepped forward and, as if looking at a treasure, gently stroked the machines.
Liu Zimo said from the side: "Hey, I'm right here. Are you treating me like air?"
Di Shishi crossed her arms: "This thing? It cost hundreds of millions?"
"It's worth it!" Qin He connected the circuits and tested them. Both the precision and the newly developed functions made her eyes light up.
Di Shishi said with disdain: "Qin He, you're drooling!"
Qin He was delighted and asked the Eight Gods to help move the machines to their designated spots.
When the Eight Gods brothers heard that these two machines cost hundreds of millions, they looked very serious.
"Boss, don't worry, we will definitely live up to our mission and guard these machines!"
Qin He was certainly at ease; the machines were very heavy, and ordinary people couldn't move them.
After admiring them for a while, she turned to Liu Zimo.
"Thanks. Come on, I'll treat you to a big meal!"
Qin He thought for a moment, then called the Eight Gods over: "Everyone, together!"
Since they were all from Qingyan Mansion, Qin He also called Shen Ruiyi. Only Zuo Xiuxian was not in Qingcheng at the moment and couldn't come.
Qin He took them to a nearby hotel for a meal.
The Eight Gods brothers, whose buzz cuts had recently grown into short hair, still showed a bit of lingering fear towards Di Shishi.
After lunch, Qin He leisurely took Di Shishi to the United Department in the West District.
Di Shishi's public identity was still her assistant.
As soon as they arrived at the United Department, they encountered Yu Jing walking out.
"Miss Qin," Yu Jing greeted respectfully. Seeing Di Shishi behind Qin He, he smiled, "Assistant Di is back."
Di Shishi returned a glare.
Yu Jing left, looking bewildered. Qin He was somewhat curious.
"How did he upset you?"
"He towed my beloved car last time," Di Shishi was quite resentful. "If it weren't for your assistant status, I would have taught him a good lesson!"
Qin He chuckled: "He just towed your car once, and you're still holding a grudge?"
Di Shishi snorted, "If I don't get revenge, I'll remember it for a lifetime."
Qin He raised her eyebrows slightly, and the two arrived at Liu Xinan's office.
Gu Qishen was already sitting inside, holding a tablet, his brow furrowed.
He put down the tablet when he saw Qin He enter.
Liu Xinan was wearing reading glasses, sitting at his desk with a frown, drawing on a piece of paper.
"Master, what are you drawing?" Qin He leaned over.
She had initially thought Liu Xinan was drawing mortise and tenon joints, but upon closer inspection, she saw he was sketching a small courtyard.
Liu Xinan's drawing was a distant view. In the courtyard, there were grapevines, a small rocking chair, and other items, mostly made of wood.
"Master, are you planning to start decorating the courtyard?"
"Your Mistress likes the things I make. I plan to craft all these items myself." Liu Xinan's face held a happy smile, as if he could already envision their future happiness after the courtyard was decorated.
"He'er, look, I plan to set aside this area for your Mistress to grow vegetables."
Liu Xinan chattered on, his words brimming with happiness. Qin He listened with a smile, and the scene he described gradually unfolded before her eyes.
"Mistress is truly fortunate to have a husband like you," Qin He said with a sigh.
Liu Xinan immediately retorted without hesitation: "Having her is my happiness. She has followed me for so many years, and because of my stubborn temper, she has suffered a lot."
Qin He was slightly taken aback.
Liu Xinan's attention was still on the drawing, his pen held as if he were pondering how to improve it.
Qin He's eyes flickered. Perhaps this was true happiness.
Two people giving to each other, deeply appreciating each other's contributions.
She unconsciously glanced at Gu Qishen beside her and met his ink-black eyes.
Qin He's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly averted her gaze back to the paper.
"Regarding the courtyard house, Brother Yang has already started the procedures. They should be completed soon."
Qin He smiled at Liu Xinan: "Master, if you can't finish making the items for the courtyard, I can help you."
Liu Xinan nodded, amused.
"Alright, it wouldn't have been in vain to take you as a disciple. However, with your belly, if your Mistress finds out I made you work, she'll scold me! You should just rest."
As the master and disciple chatted, Gu Qishen watched quietly.
The entire afternoon, Qin He leaned over the blueprints, offering advice to Liu Xinan.
Soon, Zhou Yang called. The contract for the courtyard house had been signed.
Qin He glanced at the time; it was only a little past four.
"Master, do you have to go back to the villa after work? I'll go with you to see Mistress."
Qin He had not seen Madam Liu since becoming Liu Xinan's disciple.
