Chapter 24 The Revival of the Vampire Ancestor

Within the empire, the Vampire Guild held a status far superior to the royal family, who harbored a complex mix of affection and resentment towards them. At this very moment, a secret meeting was underway within the royal palace.

Wen Baixin, the Emperor of the empire, had received news from the High Priest about impending significant actions by the vampires. He had summoned the elders and his chosen successor, Wen Yimo, to discuss countermeasures.

"What are your thoughts on this matter?" Wen Baixin asked everyone after outlining the current situation.

"Your Majesty, your humble servant believes there is still room for negotiation. Since hearing this news, I have scoured the ancient texts and finally found a clue in a secret scroll!" An elder, his age evident in his trembling form, rose and bowed to Wen Baixin.

"Oh? What clue has Elder Fu found?" Wen Baixin asked with surprise.

Elder Fu, stroking his beard, replied slowly, "Your Majesty, please do not rush. Your old servant will tell you immediately."

"The secret scroll states that the primary reason our empire signed an agreement with the vampires was that a direct descendant of the legendary vampire progenitor was a member of our imperial family. I believe that even though it is the vampire ancestor who has awakened now, it is not impossible for them to become our empire's ancestor as well."

Upon hearing this, Wen Baixin's expression soured. "Does Elder Fu mean that we should show weakness and welcome a vampire to become our ancestor?"

"Not at all! This is merely a last resort! The best course of action is to let them both suffer heavy losses, at which point Your Majesty will no longer be controlled by the Vampire Hunters' Guild! The citizens of the empire will no longer need to worry about the vampires! Your Majesty's name will be inscribed in the annals of the empire."

"Haha! As expected of Elder Fu, this plan is brilliant!" Wen Baixin exclaimed, clapping his hands in laughter.

"Your humble son congratulates Your Father King on achieving his wish in advance!" Wen Yimo said in a gentle tone, his demeanor as refined as jade.

The other ministers, reacting to the conversation between the two, chimed in unison, "We wish Your Majesty success in achieving his aspirations!"

Blas, after rinsing his mouth outside and ensuring the scent of blood had completely dissipated, returned to his residence.

However, the moment Xing Yuan saw Blas, she detected the scent of inferior blood food. She stated unequivocally, "Go back to your own room! The smell on you is unbearable!"

Blas, feeling guilty, offered no explanation. He lowered his head, placed the food he had bought outside on the table, and turned back to his room.

Xing Yuan frowned. None of this blood food tasted good. Blas was, after all, a noble of the vampire clan; how could he tolerate such strange flavors?

They lived in peace until the start of the school year. Their tranquil days were then shattered.

"My King, this is the clan leader's order. Please do not make things difficult for us." A middle-aged vampire, whose every movement was elegant and composed, stood respectfully before Xing Yuan.

"I don't need a butler. You may leave!" Xing Yuan looked at the group before her, their faces clearly conveying their annoyance.

"My King, it's not just about a butler! To help you understand the human empire more quickly, we will serve you comprehensively. Suitable vampires have also been arranged at the Imperial Academy, ready to serve you at any time."

"I don't need it," Xing Yuan said, enunciating each word, and moved to close the door.

"My King, if you are unwilling to let us serve you, then we cannot return. Please punish us!" The group knelt on the ground and said respectfully.

Xing Yuan, worried about being seen, had no choice but to compromise and pull them into the room. "Fine, you can follow me. But outside, you must address me as 'Miss.' And those fellows at the academy must pretend not to know me. If I do not personally assign you a task, you are not to make any decisions for me without authorization!"

"Yes!" The group had no objections whatsoever. After all, besides taking care of their King, they had another crucial mission: to let their King experience the cruelty and cunning of humans, so that she would return early to complete her succession and lead them in attacking the empire.

Amidst their varied thoughts, the Imperial Academy's new semester began. Xing Yuan woke up early, meticulously dressed herself, and tied her hair into a ponytail, appearing like a lively and adorable young girl.

Xing Yuan felt that even if she didn't get to see her elder sister today, if she did, her elder sister would surely have a good impression of her.

Was this still their formidable King? Strength was out of the question, but they felt that "formidable" was still a possibility they could strive for. How had their King suddenly turned to a cute style?

Blas, dressed in a suit, was also greatly shocked. Furthermore, Xing Yuan had chosen a blue dress with cute patterns, which, while beautiful, shattered everyone's image of her.

Xing Yuan, of course, paid no mind to others' opinions. They couldn't defeat her anyway. No matter how she appeared, she would always be the Vampire King.

The Imperial Academy was primarily composed of children of noble families, with teachers ranging from those who had just been born to those who had graduated. Due to her appearance, Xing Yuan was assigned to a class where everyone seemed like children to her. Xing Yuan's heart was complex as she watched the teacher lead Blas to the adult class. She had to admit she was envious. *Sigh*, why couldn't this body grow up!

Xing Yuan sat down in her seat with a dark expression. However, with her current appearance, this expression made her look like a child throwing a tantrum at her parents. Coupled with her high颜值, it wasn't long before many children came to befriend her.

Although Xing Yuan didn't need it, to avoid suspicion, she reluctantly put on an act of a normal child wanting to play with friends. With Xing Yuan's deliberate efforts to befriend them, she quickly won the hearts of most of the children.

While Xing Yuan was expanding her social circle, Blas arrived at the classroom with his teacher. The moment he entered, Blas noticed Ya Xin sitting in the middle. A smile curved his lips. He had thought he would have to put in some effort to find her; he hadn't expected her to walk right into his hands.

"Wow! The new transfer student is so handsome!" a girl in the back whispered, looking at the gentle young man.

Ya Xin's face flushed. It was that person from before. She hadn't expected them to be so fated.

Blas, with a smile, walked directly to Ya Xin's side and pointed to an empty seat. "May I sit here?"

"Someone's here!" a classmate behind the empty seat reminded him.

Ya Xin glared fiercely at her, then said gently, "Student Yuan Wen Yue has been on sick leave for a month, and we don't know when she'll be back. Why don't we let the new student sit here for now, and we can rearrange once Student Yuan Wen Yue returns?"

The teacher at the front of the class also spoke, "Student Blas, please sit down. Class is about to begin. We can change seats when Student Yuan returns."

Blas thanked them politely and sat in the seat next to Ya Xin.

While listening to the lecture, Ya Xin secretly glanced at the young man beside her. Blas, sensing Ya Xin's gaze, revealed a slight smile. The fish was taking the bait!
