In a spacious bedroom within the White House, Mr. Baite, his hair white with age and his face lined with wrinkles, had just lain down to sleep.
He was startled awake once more by a sudden cool breeze.
"Dai Shanna, close the window! Dai Shanna?"
Receiving no response to his call, Baite impatiently opened his eyes.
This is the second time, isn't it? Maybe it's time to replace this personal assistant of mine?
With age, the cold wind kept him from sleeping. To ensure a good night's rest, Baite had to get out of bed and decided to close the window himself.
Just as he put on his shoes and used the bed to pull himself up, he suddenly noticed an unexpected figure appearing beside him.
The figure's tall stature clearly did not belong to his personal assistant, Dai Shanna.
"Fuck!" Panicking, Baite cursed under his breath and immediately reached under the edge of the bed.
There was a hidden button there. Pressing it would immediately alert the security personnel.
"Don't bother, Mr. Baite!"
As the young voice spoke, Baite's hand, reaching for the edge of the bed, seemed to be grabbed and suddenly lost control.
"Who are you?" Baite asked angrily, struggling to control his hand and trying to draw the attention of the guards outside with his voice.
"Mr. Baite, don't you recognize me?"
The figure gradually approached. In the bedside lamplight, Baite finally saw the figure's face.
The familiar face made old Baite's heart suddenly leap.
"Exorcist Chu Feng, what do you want?"
But his stern voice could not hide the panic in his heart.
How did he end up here?
Could it be that he knew about that plan?
Although Baite knew that a deputy director of the FBI had died, the murderer had not been identified, and he had never expected to encounter Chu Feng in his bedroom.
And the guards outside? Are they all dead? Why haven't they come by now?
"Mr. Baite, wouldn't it be nice to just comfortably finish your last year in office at the White House? After all, with your current approval ratings, it's impossible for you to be reelected in next year's election."
Chu Feng, who had slowly walked up to Baite, grabbed Baite's still-struggling hands.
These words, however, seemed to remind Baite. He stopped struggling and looked up into Chu Feng's eyes.
"Mr. Chu Feng, if your Exorcism Agency publicly declares its support for me..."
Chu Feng, who had only come to give a warning, frowned at these words.
"You orchestrated all this just to control the Exorcism Agency and gain support for your re-election next year?"
Baite nodded candidly, without a trace of nervousness at being seen through.
With the Exorcism Agency's current influence throughout America, my support rate could at least double!
"That's right. If you hadn't continually refused American citizenship, this plan might not have existed at all!"
Chu Feng sneered at this.
"Heh. Mr. Baite, you've truly shown me the shameless side of a politician."
After doing so much against the Exorcism Agency, to still so calmly seek its support... this old man's shamelessness was truly an eye-opener for Chu Feng.
Chu Feng's words didn't cause the slightest flicker in Baite's eyes. After all, he had heard such remarks countless times before.
"Mr. Chu Feng, interests are everything. As long as I can be reelected next year, any conditions can be discussed!"
Baite's tone carried a hint of temptation, clearly intending to bind Chu Feng to his campaign with promises of benefits.
"My condition... you probably can't meet it!"
Chu Feng shook his head, directly rejecting the offer.
Given the current situation, it's hard to say what this country will look like next year.
The power of the Bizarre is growing stronger and stronger, and then there's Hell, which could arrive at any time!
Perhaps one day in the future, America will just suddenly disappear!
Besides, this Baite before me doesn't meet my requirements.
"Let's go. I'll take you for a stroll."
"What?" Baite, who had wanted to talk more with Chu Feng, was taken aback. Before he could comprehend the sudden turn of events, Chu Feng pulled him to the window.
"You... what are you doing? I'm the President of America!"
Staring at the window, Baite's face filled with terror. His hands struggled desperately, terrified Chu Feng would throw him out.
"What are you afraid of? It's just a little tour!"
Replying impatiently, Chu Feng grabbed the pajama-clad old man and instantly flew high into the sky.
"AAAAAHHHH!"
Baite's terrified screams echoed through the night sky. But bizarrely, the security personnel below seemed deaf to them, not even glancing upward.
Carrying Baite high into the sky, Chu Feng glanced at the old man in his grasp and said indifferently, "Stop yelling. They can't hear you!"
With a vibration of his Spiritual Wings, the two quickly pierced through the clouds and beheld the star-filled sky.
"You... what exactly... do you want?"
The low temperature at high altitude made Baite, clad only in pajamas, shiver uncontrollably. His teeth chattered with cold.
"I just want to leave you with a profound memory, lest... you forget!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Chu Feng's fingers suddenly released their grip.
"AAAAAHHHH..."
Accompanied by a shrill scream, Baite plummeted towards the earth.
After silently counting for a few seconds, Chu Feng's Spiritual Wings quivered. In the blink of an eye, he appeared beside the fainted Baite.
"It's just bungee jumping. Why so scared?"
After mocking him, Chu Feng instantly sent a surge of Spiritual Power into Baite's body.
"AH!"
Baite, jolting awake, had just cried out when he saw Chu Feng beside him.
Feeling his body still rising, Baite's complexion was extremely pale.
"Spare me! I guarantee nothing like what happened before will ever happen again!"
Chu Feng, who had intended to take the old man for another round, couldn't help but chuckle when he saw how readily Baite understood the situation.
In the face of death, a coward's behavior is the norm.
"Remember what you just said. If you don't... next time, there'll be no one below to catch you!"
Hearing Chu Feng's threatening words and imagining himself smashed to a pulp, Baite shivered and quickly nodded.
With my current physical condition, I can still enjoy at least another decade of life. There's no need to seek death now.
Seeing Baite was so quick to understand, Chu Feng said no more. He patted Baite on the head, and a current of Spiritual Power instantly entered the man's mind.
"What is that?" Baite asked in terror, feeling something suddenly appear in his mind.
Anyone would feel uneasy if something suddenly appeared in their brain, wouldn't they?
"Just a little insurance. As long as you don't cause trouble, it won't appear again," Chu Feng said with a smile.
Afterward, his Spiritual Wings quivered, and he plunged back down, carrying Baite.
By the time they returned to the bedroom, Baite, in his hands, had already passed out again.
