"Fuck, I really want to pry open your skull and see what the hell is inside!"
Brawny Bob shook his head, no longer paying attention to this oddball. Then his gaze shifted directly to the people around him who had been enjoying the spectacle.
"Everyone, those rats from the Holy Advent Society are here! Mr. Chu Feng just gave his orders: don't hold back, kill them all!"
Upon hearing this, everyone felt it was exactly what they wanted.
"Okay!"
"No problem, we guarantee we'll make those little rats utterly submissive!"
"We're gonna kill them..."
As the crowd's cheers gradually subsided, a glint of light flashed in Bob's hand. A giant metal cross, over two meters tall, suddenly appeared, its aura clearly blessed by a Priest.
"Let's move, crush them! This is the perfect chance to show those bastards from the other teams what we're capable of!"
「...」
Above the underground base in New York were several large factory buildings used as a facade. These factory buildings were closely connected, and concealed by the structures, few people knew a secret underground base was hidden here.
Just a kilometer away from the factory buildings, Edmond, a member of the Holy Advent Society who had traveled a long way from Oregon State, grabbed his companion's arm, demanding sharply, "Jones! Tell me! Why have you changed so much since coming back from those guys? How dare you defy Priest Sirio's orders?"
Jones, who was grabbed, frowned and pried Edmond's fingers from his arm one by one. "I am the commander of this mission. Edmond, you're overstepping!"
Seeing the other man pat his sleeve and turn to leave, Edmond's eyes narrowed slightly, his hand slowly moving towards the small of his back. "Jones, are you planning to betray Sirio?"
"Betray?" Jones's footsteps paused, and he turned around, a look of surprise in his eyes.
"Heh. He hasn't betrayed your Priest!" Looking at Edmond's right hand behind his back, Jones (or rather, the one impersonating him) let out a sneer.
The strange words made Edmond frown. He didn't understand what the other meant for a moment and asked in confusion, "He?"
Seeing Edmond's puzzled look, Jones's mouth curved slightly upward.
BANG!
After the gunshot, Edmond, a bullet hole in his forehead, fell directly to the ground.
Looking at the corpse, the figure said playfully, "I never said I was Jones, now did I?"
With that, he turned and left. It was time to act. He was in no mood to waste time here with this fool.
「Half an hour later,」
Over a dozen vehicles rushed straight into the factory buildings above the underground base. As the car doors opened, nearly fifty cultists, armed with various weapons, quickly disembarked. Some vigilantly scanned the surroundings, while others retrieved a pile of offerings reeking of a putrid stench from the vehicles. Animal carcasses, entrails, human body parts... all sorts of items used in Cult rituals were neatly arranged, awaiting the altar's completion.
These cultists from the Holy Advent Society, having come all the way from Oregon State, were indeed quite proficient. In just a few minutes, a respectable-looking altar appeared inside one of the factory buildings.
Once the offerings were placed on the altar, several cultists in black robes solemnly approached it. They began to chant Spells in bizarre intonations until a red light emerged from the eyes of the black goat emblem on the altar. Several crows, their bodies entirely black, had their heads brutally lopped off on the altar. The cultist before the altar held a crow's carcass, guzzling the dripping blood, his face contorted and ghastly, like a savage specter.
At that moment, a black mist appeared out of nowhere, enveloping the entire altar. On the altar, several pitch-black jars began to tremble violently. As the cultists' chanting grew more fervent, the lids of the black jars suddenly burst open, and the surrounding black mist was instantly devoured by them.
The next second, a hand wreathed in black mist suddenly rested on the mouth of one of the pitch-black jars.
One, two, three...
In a brief moment, at least hundreds of Evil Spirits, shrouded in black mist, poured out of the jars and began to roam within the spacious factory building. Then, at the command of the cultist before the altar, now pale-faced, the Evil Spirits immediately scattered. Their goal was to find the entrance to the underground base within these huge factory buildings and, ideally, to annihilate the overconfident Exorcists inside.
"Hah! Mr. Chu Feng is right. You Cult rats always enjoy these useless tricks!"
The sudden mocking voice startled the cultists. They immediately aimed their guns towards the source of the voice. Above them, on the steel beams of the factory building, a brawny man carrying a massive cross was grinning savagely at them.
The Evil Spirits scattered throughout the factory building howled in unison. The aura emanating from the huge cross in the brawny man's hands made these Evil Spirits burn with the urge to tear him to shreds. If not for the cultist at the altar restraining them, these Evil Spirits would have likely already pounced.
"An Exorcist? Fire! Shoot him down!"
Following the command, the factory building erupted with gunfire. Countless bullets rained down on Bob.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG...
The sound of countless bullets striking metal rang out, as the large metal cross effectively shielded Bob's body.
Just as the cultists' attention was mostly focused overhead, a figure wielding a Knight's Longsword was the first to appear, charging into the cultist throng like a leopard.
SWISH! The swung Longsword sliced a cultist in half at the waist. Without pausing, he used the momentum, his drawn blade now bloodied, to hack at another cultist's head.
"Dio, you're too fast!"
The cultists, just realizing they might have walked into an ambush, hadn't yet reacted when another mocking voice came from outside the factory building.
BOOM!
Accompanied by the roar of a shotgun, a cultist at the entrance was blasted backward into the room. Riddled with bloody holes, he was clearly dead.
"Fight back! Fight back! Release the Evil Spirits..."
As the command from Jones, the leader among the cultists, rang out, the eyes of the countless Evil Spirits in the factory building suddenly glinted red. After roaring, they all surged toward the three who had revealed themselves.
Seeing the swarm of Evil Spirits bearing down on them, Dio, still swinging his Longsword, was the first to panic. "Xie Te! You bastards, get out here! The three of us can't hold them off!"
As his shout rang out, figures suddenly emerged from every corner. Wielding various weapons, they charged toward the cultists and Evil Spirits.
While the battle raged inside the factory building, a kilometer away from the underground base, another battle erupted simultaneously.
