Chapter 186: Chapter 186 Bold Guess
Charles Seymour nodded, "Mm."
Mmm?
What does mmm mean?
Sophie Wilson looked at Charles Seymour amusedly. Charles took a sip of his juice, and nonchalantly changed the subject, "Do you think Ophelia Wilson seems a bit off?"
Sophie Wilson nodded, "How did Grace Wilson get involved with Ophelia Wilson? And Ophelia goes to such great lengths for her, it’s not normal."
"Logically, they shouldn’t have any connection. Moreover, when I was in the hospital, I also saw Ophelia Wilson, when she was there with Aunt Taylor."
Sophie Wilson was a bit puzzled.
"I’ve already arranged for someone to investigate, but I have a theory." Charles Seymour looked steadily at Sophie Wilson.
"What?" Sophie asked curiously.
"Isn’t it possible that you are the daughter of Clarissa Taylor and Mason Wilson?" As soon as Charles Seymour spoke, Sophie was stunned, staring at him in disbelief, unable to find her voice for quite a while.
"Actually, if you make a bold guess, there are clues to follow," Charles Seymour spoke slowly, "Kai Bright felt an instant connection with you, a sense of familiarity. Clarissa Taylor feels that way too. Also, all three of you have almond-shaped eyes."
For some unknown reason, Sophie suddenly recalled something Clarissa had mentioned—"Our Taylor Family’s inherited almond-shaped eyes."
Sophie stammered, "I, am I and Ophelia Wilson... twins?"
Charles’s speculation was too bold, making her feel uneasy, unsure if she was happy or upset, expectant or nervous. A mix of emotions, indescribable.
For some reason, the thought of being twin sisters with Ophelia Wilson made her uncomfortable.
Maybe it was because Ophelia was on Grace Wilson’s side.
"Ophelia Wilson was born the same year and month as you," Charles threw out another crucial piece of information.
Ophelia is a celebrity, information about her is easily found online.
"But, but, if I’m Aunt Taylor’s child, why did she give me away back then? And why hasn’t she come to find me all these years?" Sophie nervously swallowed, clutching her cup tightly to ease the strange feeling inside her.
"What do you think causes one person to harbor hostility towards another?" Charles didn’t answer Sophie’s question but instead posed one to her.
"Interests," Sophie replied without thinking.
"So, I suspect... Ophelia Wilson is not the biological daughter of Clarissa Taylor and Mason Wilson," Charles said with certainty.
"But, but, Ophelia also has almond-shaped eyes," Sophie grew more confused as she listened.
"That’s what I’m investigating," Charles said, "Ophelia’s sudden involvement in Grace Wilson’s affairs is too strange. What kind of relationship does she have with Grace to do so much for her?"
"I suspect she’s grooming Grace Wilson to go against you," Charles’s eyes turned cold, "You saved Clarissa Taylor, her mother, and she doesn’t even thank you. Now this attitude... it’s too strange."
Sophie silently pulled out a chair and sat down. The information from Charles was too much, too shocking, for her to digest all at once.
Her mind was in chaos, buzzing with confusion.
Sophie tried to force out a smile, but after much effort, she failed.
"Even if they aren’t your parents, you still have me," Charles stepped forward, his warm hand pressing on the top of Sophie’s head, reliable and comforting.
