Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Yue Ning Remembers
Lu Shi heard her daughter’s words, and all the hair on her body rose. She exhaled, her lips parted as if to say something, but she clamped her mouth shut.
If Lu Shi had known that Xu Yuelan would face death in the future due to this growing obsession, she would have tried to stop her. She would have convinced her.
Of course... that was for another time.

Song Residence
Far away from the banquet, another storm was brewing.
Song Kai walked into the mansion, handing his coat to one of the maids. He found his younger brother seated lazily on one of the sofas, grinning at his phone. Song Yun didn’t even realize that he had returned.
Song Kai cleared his throat to announce his arrival. Song Yun raised his head, gave him the barest glance, then returned his attention to the glowing screen of his phone.
Song Kai sighed, walking forward with his hands in his pockets before taking a seat opposite him.
"You could at least greet me, to show you acknowledge my presence," he said, folding his arms and crossing one leg over the other.
Song Yun scoffed. He tossed his phone on the center table and met his brother’s gaze coldly.
"Didn’t I tell you already? I don’t consider you my brother."
Song Kai’s lips curved slowly. Though he smiled, a dangerous glint flickered in his eyes.
"You’ll be resuming college tomorrow. No excuses—I want you to have a better life. That is what that old man wanted." He announced, standing to his feet without waiting for a reply.
Song Yun’s fists slammed against the sofa. "I hate you!" he shouted.
Song Kai gave him a sideways glance. "You won’t be the first to say that to me. And you’ll certainly not be the last. I don’t need your love. I only need to fulfill my duties as an older brother."
Once he said this, he walked away without giving his little brother a chance to rebut.
"Darn it!" Song Yun cursed, ruffling his hair in frustration. After a moment, he grabbed his phone again and swiftly typed a message. A faint smirk tugged at his lips as he hit send.
Song Kai had no idea what his brother was up to—not that he cared.
Inside his bedroom, a playful smirk tugged at his own lips as he replayed the earlier exchange with Yue Ning.
He sat on the single chair by the window, resting his chin on his hand. Her defiance, her witty attitude, her fiery glare—they were all etched in his memory.
His eyes brightened with obsession. "Yue Ning, Yue Ning, Yue Ning..." he whispered her name three times, as if savoring it.
A flash of madness lit his gaze. "You will be mine."
Then came the laughter. It burst out of him, sharp and manic, echoing off the soundproofed walls. It was not the laughter of a man, but the hollow, feral sound of a beast that had just found its prey.
Fortunately, no one outside heard. Otherwise, the maids would have scattered in terror.

Meanwhile, Yue Ning and Huo Feng were oblivious to the storm being spun around them.
Huo Feng sat on the sofa, flipping through documents he had brought from the office so he could stay close to Yue Ning during the banquet.
Yue Ning sat on the bed with a novel open on her lap—a perfect guise for the real conversation she was having with System 101.
Her gaze was fixed on the page, but her mind was elsewhere. "Can you show me my stats?" she asked in a low voice.
’Absolutely,’ the system replied. A white holographic panel appeared before her eyes.
Name: Yue Ning
Type: Transmigrator
Level: Beginner
Missions Completed: Ten
Skills Acquired: Basic Martial Skills, Business Intelligence, Ability to Make a Person Cry
Items: Lingerie, Facial Cream
Points Accumulated: 10,000
"Is there really no way to remove that skill?" Yue Ning muttered, clearly referring to the last one.
The system’s tone was almost apologetic, but there was a slight gloating in it. ’I am afraid it isn’t possible.’
"I’m sure you’ll say the same thing about the items. I don’t know why you keep giving such strange rewards." She complained.
’You have to understand—they will still be useful,’ it insisted.
Yue Ning rolled her eyes, feeling unconvinced by its words.
"How about I unlock some new skills? Medical ones, maybe?"
’That’s possible,’ the system agreed.
She sighed. "Still, I can’t stop thinking about what happened earlier at the banquet."
’Which part? A lot happened at the banquet—I’ve lost count,’ the system teased.
Yue Ning snorted and rolled her eyes. "The man in the garden. His aura... it scared me. I don’t know why, but I felt danger from him."
’You’re not wrong,’ the system replied firmly. ’He acted too familiar with you. And he mentioned Huo Feng. That alone is enough to be cautious.’
Yue Ning’s frown deepened. "So you really don’t know who he is? Not even his name?"
’I know his name,’ it admitted.
Her eyes widened. "Then why didn’t you say so when Huo Feng asked me?"
’You didn’t ask me,’ the system said innocently.
Yue Ning stared in disbelief. She had never imagined the system would be so quick to shirk responsibility.
"Fine. What’s his name then?" she pressed, her heartbeat quickening. Somehow, she felt that everything would change once she heard it.
’The man’s name is...’ the system trailed off, drawing out the suspense.
"Hurry!" she urged.
’Song Kai.’
Yue Ning’s heart lurched. The name rang in her ears like a curse. Her lips parted and she whispered it at first, then repeated it louder—almost shouting: "Song Kai."
Across the room, Huo Feng froze. He snapped his head toward her, confusion swirling in his sharp eyes.
"That man..." Yue Ning’s voice trembled. "His name was Song Kai."
Huo Feng’s expression darkened, closing the folder loudly which caused Yue Ning to flinch at the loud sound.
His voice was low, dangerously low. "His name was what?" He slowly rose to his feet, taking a few deliberate steps towards her.
"Song Kai... do you know him?" Yue Ning asked tentatively staring at Huo Feng’s dark expression.
