Chapter 471 Imprisoned

Duo Duo's eyes lit up at the mention of returning to the old mansion. "Are we going back to the Qin family's old mansion? Is Daddy taking us back to acknowledge our ancestors?"

Online, the Qin family's old mansion was described as being as vast as the Summer Palace and incredibly beautiful!

Would it be her home from now on? She was so excited!

She wouldn't have to worry about Mommy not being able to afford to feed her, or not being able to eat meat anymore!

The driver replied, "Yes."

"Is my mother going too?" Yue Yue asked suspiciously.

The driver was silent for a moment before replying, "Yes."

Yue Yue sat back in his seat. On the surface, he seemed to believe them, but he had already confirmed in his heart that they were being deceived.

He secretly sent a message to his mother using his watch phone, only to discover there was no signal!

He picked up Duo Duo's watch phone and saw that it also had no signal!

"Don't worry, brother, Daddy won't hurt us~" Duo Duo hadn't noticed anything amiss. Thinking about being able to go home with Mommy and Daddy, she was very happy and comforted Yue Yue.

Yue Yue: "..."

Who was it that had been afraid of a tiger eating its cubs just before?

However, considering Duo Duo's tendency to get easily startled, he decided not to warn her for now and see what they were up to.

Forty minutes later, the car drove into the Qin family's old mansion and finally stopped at a courtyard villa called "Siji" (Four Seasons).

At the entrance of the villa, a woman who looked about sixty years old stood guard. Her black and white hair was meticulously tied back, and her eyes were creased with age, making her appear very kind and gentle.

She was Aunt Wen, the wet nurse who had taken care of Yu He back then. After the Sixth Branch had an accident, she was assigned to the Qin family's logistics department to do manual labor. She was actually in her fifties, not yet retirement age, but due to the hard work, she looked like she was in her sixties.

She had worked in logistics for over ten years until two years ago when she accidentally met Qin Yongyi and was transferred from the logistics department to the villa. She was supposed to serve Master Qin Seven, but Master Qin Seven rarely returned to the old mansion, leaving her with a lot of free time.

However, after a lifetime of hard work, she found it difficult to adjust to suddenly having so much leisure. She would clean the villa from top to bottom every day, waiting for Master Qin Seven to return. Today, she finally got her wish.

Although it wasn't Master Qin Seven who returned, but two children, she quickly prepared two children's rooms, made a lot of cute pastries, and prepared a children's dinner. Then, she waited at the courtyard entrance.

Upon seeing the car arrive, she immediately stepped forward and opened the rear car door. Seeing a pair of almost identical twins inside, who looked like delicate porcelain dolls and were exceptionally cute, her heart instantly melted.

"You must be Young Master Yue Yue and Miss Duo Duo, right? I am Aunt Wen, Master Seven sent me to take care of you," Aunt Wen said with a smile.

The more she looked, the more she felt the two children resembled Xin Shu... No, Miss Yu He, when she was young. However, their noses and mouths looked like Master Qin Seven's.

Could these be the children of Master Seven and Miss Yu He?!

"Hello, Aunt Wen," Duo Duo said sweetly as she got out of the car.

"Oh, come inside quickly. It's cold outside, don't catch a chill," Aunt Wen said, leading the two children into the house.

The house was very large and decorated in a vintage Chinese style, which Duo Duo loved. She ran excitedly around the room.

Yue Yue, however, had no interest. He looked around but didn't see his mother and asked, "Where is my mother?"

"Master Seven and Madame won't be back that quickly," Aunt Wen explained. "It's so late, you must be hungry. Aunt Wen has made you a children's meal and some small desserts. Eat first, and after eating, Aunt Wen will take you to see your rooms, okay?"

"Yay~" Duo Duo cheered and ran towards the dining room.

Yue Yue, however, frowned. "We're staying here tonight?"

"This will be your home from now on," Aunt Wen said.

Yue Yue's small brow furrowed even tighter. He glanced at his watch phone. It finally had a signal, so he found an excuse to go to the bathroom. In the bathroom, he called his mother, but her phone was turned off.

Had something happened to his mother?

He called Xiao An Ran and asked if she had returned to the clinic and if she had seen his mother.

"I'm back, but Xiao Qing and Xiao Ya said Sister He had something to attend to with Master Seven and went out, saying she wouldn't be back for a while. Where are you and Duo Duo? Are you okay?" Xiao An Ran asked.

"We're at the Qin family's old mansion. We're fine for now," Yue Yue replied.

Xiao An Ran had initially been very worried about the two children. After rushing back to the clinic and hearing the love story between Qin Bei Ting and Yu He from Xiao Qing and Xiao Ya, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Master Qin Seven loved Sister He so much, he would surely accept the two children.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have sent someone to pick up the two children and bring them back to the Qin family's old mansion.

"Oh, you're back at the old mansion then. You should get along well with the people there. Don't always play on your phone; spend more time with your family. Bye-bye."

Yue Yue looked at his watch phone, which had been hung up. He felt that Aunt An Ran didn't seem to think anything was wrong. Could it be that he was overthinking things?

Meanwhile.

Yu He slowly woke up and found herself lying in a large bed in a room with a uniform gray color scheme. The environment was unfamiliar.

She sat up, saw she was still wearing her clothes, rubbed her sore neck, and cursed the scoundrel man, saying he had hit her hard!

She remembered what Qin Bei Ting had said before she fainted and wondered how Yue Yue and Duo Duo were. She immediately looked for her phone, only to find it was nowhere to be found.

She pulled back the curtains. A light snow was falling in the night sky, and a thin layer of snow had settled on the windowpanes. The courtyard was lit, and farther away, it was pitch black, as if they were in the countryside.

Yu He suddenly had a bad premonition. She opened the door, and the corridor was lit. She went out and found the stairs, then went down to the first floor. The villa seemed empty, quiet, with only her movements audible.

She saw a landline on the coffee table in the living room. She immediately went over and, just as she picked up the phone, ready to dial, a clear, strong female voice suddenly rang out.

"That phone can only make internal calls, not external ones."

Yu He was startled and almost jumped. She turned around and saw a capable woman with a neat short haircut, wearing a black form-fitting work uniform paired with black combat boots, standing behind her without her knowing when she had appeared.

"Who are you?"

"Laura, I'm in charge of watching you," the woman replied with a serious expression.

Yu He's beautiful eyebrows furrowed slightly. Her earlier bad premonition had indeed come true; Qin Bei Ting had really imprisoned her!

"Where is Qin Bei Ting?"

Laura: "I don't know."

Yu He was not convinced. She pressed a string of numbers on the landline, and only when she confirmed that external calls could not be made did she dejectedly put the handset back.

She glanced at the time. It was half past midnight. She wondered how Yue Yue and Duo Duo were. It was too dark outside, and not suitable for her to escape.

She simply slumped onto the sofa and said to Laura, who was standing rigidly beside her, "I'm hungry. Is there anything to eat?"

Laura turned and went into the kitchen. Yu He glanced at the two locks on the main door, understanding why Laura wasn't worried about her escaping.

While Laura was busy in the kitchen, Yu He quickly went through every room on the first floor. She didn't find any electronic devices that could connect to the outside world. However, she did find a power distribution room hidden in the basement, but she was disappointed because there was no internet!
