Chapter 445 Remembering the Past
Two hours earlier.
A red Ferrari stopped at the entrance of Qin Corporation's headquarters. Yu He, sitting in the passenger seat, unbuckled her seatbelt and was about to open the door when she found it was locked.
She turned her head to look at Shen Yao, who was driving, "Unlock it."
"What are you doing here?" Shen Yao glanced at the grand, imposing skyscraper outside the car window. It was a landmark in the capital and the headquarters of Qin Corporation.
However, it was different from before. The gate only bore the inscription "Qin Corporation." Today's plaque had an additional symbol before "Qin Corporation": "Affiliated with XS Group."
After leaving the real estate administration, Yu He had asked him to take her here. His instinctive first thought was that she wanted to find Qin Beiting.
"Qin Beiting doesn't usually come here," he reminded her.
Ever since she learned that the courtyard house was a gift from Qin Beiting, Yu He felt an indescribable emotion whenever she heard his name.
"I'm not looking for him," Yu He said.
Shen Yao clearly didn't believe her. "Then what are you doing here?"
"Do I need to report my actions to you?" Yu He glanced at him.
Shen Yao crossed his arms and turned his head away. "If you don't say, I won't unlock the door."
"Tsk, you..." Yu He was a little annoyed. Did this guy think he was asking for a beating?
But considering he had been running errands for her as a chauffeur all day, she suppressed the urge to act and said in a conciliatory tone, "I'm here to discuss company matters with Qi Xifeng."
She found Qin Xinsu unreliable and needed to find someone trustworthy to discuss cooperation with.
"Really?" Shen Yao asked suspiciously.
He clearly didn't quite believe that the always willful Yu He would actually tell him her whereabouts.
Yu He's forehead veins throbbed. She was too lazy to waste words on him and reached over him to press the unlock button.
As the woman's body suddenly leaned over, he felt her exquisite face flash right before his eyes. Her soft hair brushed against his face, carrying a faint, pleasant fragrance.
Shen Yao was momentarily stunned, not reacting for a long time. It wasn't until a security guard at the gate reminded him that the car was blocking the entrance that he snapped back to reality, only to find Yu He gone.

The building's lobby.
"Hello, whom are you looking for? Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked politely.
Yu He: "I have an appointment with Mr. Qi, Lin Muxi."
After checking the appointment records on her computer, the receptionist said, "This way, please." She smiled and led Yu He to the elevator, swiping her card.
After the elevator ascended, the receptionist returned to her post. At that moment, a woman in professional attire approached. "Hello, I have an appointment with Mr. Qi at three o'clock. The appointment is under Lin Muxi."
"Are you Lin Muxi?" the receptionist asked, surprised.
Lin Muxi: "Yes."
"Didn't Lin Muxi just go up?" another receptionist chimed in, then suddenly realized something. "Please show me your ID."
Lin Muxi was baffled but still presented her ID.
After examining the IDs, the two receptionists exchanged a look of alarm and quickly contacted security. "Someone is impersonating a client's information and has entered the group, heading towards Mr. Qi's office. The person is still in the elevator."
Then, she described Yu He's attire.
The security guard immediately used his walkie-talkie to alert security personnel on every floor. "Intruder spotted, female, wearing a long gray trench coat and blue jeans, heading towards the top floor. Apprehend any suspicious individuals immediately!"
"Roger!" The security guards on the top floor immediately stationed themselves at the elevator doors, waiting to apprehend the person the moment the doors opened.
"Ding~" The elevator reached the top floor, and the doors opened, but there was no one inside.
"There's no one in the elevator! Check the fire escape!"
Yu He emerged from the fire escape, preparing to climb one more floor to reach Qi Xifeng's office on the top floor. But as soon as she stepped out, she heard hurried footsteps from the hallway, accompanied by the walkie-talkie reporting the discovery of the intruder. The footsteps were approaching around the corner. In a moment of urgency, she casually pushed open a door and slipped inside.
The office appeared to be a study with classical decor. There was an en-suite room inside, and no one was outside.
Yu He looked up at the ceiling, finding no surveillance cameras, and breathed a sigh of relief. She planned to wait for a while until the people outside left, then make her escape.
"Xiao He?" A male voice suddenly called from behind her.
Yu He's heart skipped a beat. She turned around and saw the man emerging from the en-suite room, looking somewhat dazed.
The man was around forty years old, dressed in a well-tailored black suit. His face was sharply carved, his eyes like swords, his nose like a hanging gall, and his lips thin.
There was a slight resemblance between his brows and Qin Beiting's, making Yu He feel a sense of familiarity, as if she had seen him somewhere before.
"Xiao He! It really is you, you're back!" Qin Yongyi had been uncertain before. Now, seeing her turn around, her appearance not much changed from five years ago, except for a more mature aura about her.
He stepped forward with joy, scrutinizing her. "You're not dead, you've truly returned, that's wonderful! Where have you been all these years? Are you doing well?"
Yu He stared at him intently. His worried tone and the several flashes of images and a man's voice that suddenly appeared in her mind were very similar:
"It's precisely because she died in this incident that I didn't want you to investigate further!"
"Families inevitably have conflicts. As long as the Qin family can unite now and make Qin Corporation the undisputed leader in the country."
"This matter happened so long ago. Bringing it up again now will only damage Qin Corporation's reputation and cannot change history. Yun'er won't come back to life, so there's no need."
Yu He took a step back. Her temples throbbed with a sharp pain as these words and images surfaced, as if something was about to burst out of her mind. Her entire head ached as if it would explode, and her heart felt as if it were being clutched by a large hand, making it difficult to breathe.
She clutched her head in pain, her body weakly leaning against the door, almost unable to stand. But with the last shred of her reason, she asked, "Who are you?"
Qin Yongyi was taken aback, realizing something was wrong with her. He immediately supported her. "Xiao He? Xiao He, what's wrong? You don't remember me? I'm your father, are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
The word "father" made Yu He's eyes widen like copper bells. A surge of bitterness welled up from the depths of her heart, making it impossible for her to catch her breath.

As if this title instantly opened a crack in her mind, the memories that had been buried deep within found a breakthrough and surged out. Many past scenes flashed through her mind, accompanied by various emotions, completely overwhelming her.
How could she forget the hatred etched in her heart for over a decade, the tragic death of her adoptive mother, the unjust case of her adoptive father, and the frustration of finding the truth...
"Xiao He!" Seeing Yu He suddenly faint, Qin Yongyi quickly caught her, laid her flat on the long sofa, and called for a doctor.
Qin Yongyi had a private doctor. When Qi Kaifeng arrived at the company, the receptionists and security guards looked at him nervously. Had the intruder injured Master Qin Six?
Qi Kaifeng rushed to Qin Yongyi's office door, followed by Qin Yongyi's assistant and security guards.
Qin Yongyi opened the door and frowned upon seeing so many people. He only let Qi Kaifeng in.
"Sixth Master, are you alright?" Assistant Bai Fei asked anxiously.
"I'm fine, don't come in, don't make a noise," Qin Yongyi said, closing the door and leading Qi Kaifeng to the sofa. "Kaifeng, quickly check, how is she?"
