Flower of the Celestial Origin

Chapter 237 Gorgon and Anna

The day of the final battle finally arrived. Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, Anna, Merlin, Ishtar, and Li Xing set out for the Blood Temple. Quetzalcoatl and Jaguar Man, along with the soldiers of Uruk, defended the northern wall against the onslaught of demonic beasts.

Gudao also arrived on the battlefield, immediately engaging Quetzalcoatl. For a time, neither could gain the upper hand.

...

Meanwhile, upon reaching the Blood Temple, Merlin began to cast a spell: "The magic of Great Britain, Artoria, dinner is served..."

That was the gist of the incantation. When the signal was given, Pterodactyls carried Marduk's Spear to the battlefield. Quetzalcoatl swung Marduk's Spear with all her might towards Merlin's direction.

"Oops... slipped my hand," Merlin feigned a slip, tossing the staff at the entrance of the Blood Temple. Marduk's Spear landed precisely on the Blood Temple, shattering the Innate Territory and simultaneously weakening Gorgon's divinity.

Gudao thought Quetzalcoatl had missed and was inwardly amused. Suddenly, he sensed Gorgon's divinity weakening, and a sense of unease washed over him. He scanned his surroundings, and the young goddess was nowhere to be found. He immediately abandoned Quetzalcoatl and flew back to the Blood Temple.

Quetzalcoatl, having attacked the Blood Temple, was struck by a bolt of divine lightning, her divinity reduced to less than half. Because it was not her intention, she managed to survive, but her pained screams echoed across the entire northern wall.

...

Entering the Blood Temple, Anna led the group to Gorgon's location.

Fujimaru Ritsuka shouted, startling Gorgon awake. Gorgon climbed out of the deep abyss, but on her head, a flower bloomed. The flower was tiny, almost invisible compared to Gorgon's colossal form.

"I thought it was something significant, but isn't this the ant I once let go? And my petrifications, you've actually broken through my Mystic Eyes of Petrification."

Upon waking, Gorgon sneered at the sight of the former ant presenting herself willingly. She then moved before Fujimaru Ritsuka, stating that if this last human Master was willing to surrender, she would keep Fujimaru Ritsuka as a pet.

Fujimaru Ritsuka refused without hesitation. Gorgon sought revenge against humanity, yet she used humans as the subjects of her vengeance, creating demonic beasts. It was as if she were turning humans into her own children; her revenge was completely misguided.

"Enough, Gorgon. You can no longer see yourself clearly. Gorgon should not exist, yet must exist, a being who kills to protect. The persecuted has become the persecutor. Although this is not what I wished to see, my liking for you has never changed."

Li Xing walked up to Gorgon and gently caressed her face. It was a familiar scene, and Gorgon felt a sense of agitation. What was happening?

Gorgon shook her body wildly, trying to calm herself, but let out a frantic roar.

At this moment, Anna also stepped forward, pulling down her hood to reveal her face. Upon seeing Anna, Gorgon became even more frantic. In Gorgon's eyes, Anna was a monster, and she did not want to see this monster.

Anna felt a pang of disappointment. As expected, Gorgon couldn't see her. Anna then unleashed her divinity, revealing her Mystic Eyes of Petrification. Anna was now fighting for herself, for Uruk, for salvation and protection.

"Is that so? Medusa, who became Gorgon by devouring her two sisters. She became Gorgon to protect the happiness of the Unseen Island, but after becoming Gorgon, the things she needed to protect no longer existed. You are like Akaza, existing to protect." Li Xing sighed and snapped his fingers. The flower on Gorgon's head bloomed, and strands of purple magic enveloped Gorgon's body.

"What... what is this? When?" Gorgon was bewildered. How did this happen? When did this flower appear on her?

"This flower was placed before you by me, but I didn't put it on you. Remember it, the days on the Unseen Island," Li Xing said calmly.

Gorgon was shocked. If Li Xing didn't put it there, did she subconsciously put it on herself? This was impossible, absolutely impossible. Gorgon struggled frantically but couldn't move.

"Thank you, Li Xing. I have a question for you: why do you like me?" Anna smiled and drew her scythe.

Li Xing thought seriously. "Hmm... perhaps it's my passion. No, you wouldn't understand that. In short, this is the purpose of my journey! Everything began with my love and devotion to the two-dimensional world."

If he had to explain, that was the only reason. Saying it was love at first sight would be too cliché, though love at first sight did exist.

"Is that so? You are truly a suspicious person. Farewell." Anna smiled gently, picked up her scythe, and leaped, landing on Gorgon's chest and slashing down.

"This... this blade... you are... Sis...ter... Elder... Si...ster... I... I'm... sor...ry..." Gorgon's words trailed off as she began to fall, cracks appearing on her body. Her spirit core exploded, forming an abyss in the center.

Anna, being too close to Gorgon, was caught in the blast, and her spirit core was also shattered. As she fell into the abyss, Anna glanced at Li Xing, her smile conveying a silent thank you.

...

Long, long ago, on an Unseen Island, lived three girls. Two sisters were petite, but the youngest was different from her sisters; her body continued to grow. Conversely, the youngest possessed mystic eyes that her sisters lacked.

The three sisters were known as Gorgons, monsters that even the gods feared, attracting countless heroes to challenge them. However, the only one truly challenged was the youngest, Medusa.

Medusa continuously killed the heroes who came to challenge them to protect her sisters, becoming a killer. Eventually, she went mad and killed the very sisters she sought to protect, becoming the terrifying monster, Gorgon.

...

"A miscalculation, a miscalculation. My magic became the final straw that killed Anna. I'm sorry, but rest assured, one day I will bring you out, in your complete form." Li Xing apologized inwardly and mourned for Anna at the edge of the abyss.

Fujimaru Ritsuka approached the edge of the abyss and threw a flower wreath. It was given by the old woman at the flower shop, though Anna couldn't bring herself to accept it because the old woman's grandson had been killed by a demonic beast.

Gorgon's immortality was rendered meaningless by Anna's Blade of Slaughter against the Undead. Both vanished from the singularity together. However, Merlin did not detect the Holy Grail, meaning the Holy Grail was not with Gorgon at all.

"Mother, are you safe... Gorgon!" Gudao returned to the Blood Temple at this moment but found he was too late.

Without Gorgon by his side, Gudao lacked the Holy Grail's protection, and his defeat was inevitable.

Romanie, the doctor from Chaldea, also contacted Fujimaru Ritsuka: "What's going on? Gorgon has been confirmed defeated, so why is this singularity still here?"

Li Xing stopped his mourning, his clothes changing into a haori. Without looking back, he flew away from the Blood Temple. Gudao no longer bothered to pursue Li Xing; at this point, no one could stop what was happening.
