The Ghost King often felt that, in comparison, Liu Buli was the true "evil spirit."
This was because the fellow's way of thinking was different from ordinary people, and also different from ordinary ghosts. He always came up with methods that made death itself a prolonged agony, using mere words to carve bloody wounds in others' hearts. Just like now.
The Ghost King felt utterly uncomfortable by what he said, but knew that Liu Buli had sealed his hearing, so no matter what he said, Liu Buli would absolutely not hear a single word. Thinking this, the Ghost King felt disgusted, distressed, and completely helpless.
Gritting his teeth, the Ghost King whispered, "Liu Buli, you scoundrel, you'll get what's coming to you!"
He knew Liu Buli couldn't hear this.
But he truly wanted to say it.
If he didn't say it, the words would be like a thorn, always stuck in his throat, making him feel suffocated and uncomfortable. Now that he had said it, the Ghost King felt much better. He then looked at Liu Buli's eyes and without any further hesitation, spread his arms and attacked.
Similar to Lu Wuming's attack pattern, the Ghost King's primary weapon in combat was his own claws.
Against anyone else, the Ghost King's ghost claws would be more than enough to tear everything apart. But the problem was that Liu Buli held a divine sword, a sword that had gone mad from killing too many people.
Such a weapon would not be at a disadvantage against ghost claws. The Ghost King naturally felt this, and because of it, even though he desperately wanted to kill Liu Buli, he still had to be wary of the sword in his hand.
He feared that with one careless move, his primordial spirit would be shattered by that sword.
Recovering from that would not be an easy task.
However, these were not the main issues.
What made the Ghost King most furious was how incredibly obnoxious Liu Buli's mouth was. He had indeed sealed his hearing, but he hadn't sealed his mouth. So, after a short while of fighting, Liu Buli shook his head and sighed, "You're a king, and I thought you'd be quite capable. I didn't expect your claws to be worse than our Wuming's. Sitting in this position, you're truly not ashamed at all?"
The Ghost King roared, "Who told you I'm inferior to him!? I'm currently fighting you with my primordial spirit because I don't have a body, so I can't let you feel my power! If I were at my peak, that brat... no, not just him, all of you combined wouldn't be my match!"
He retorted very earnestly.
But Liu Buli heard nothing.
Not only did he hear nothing, but he continued to chatter on, spewing insults at the Ghost King.
His words infuriated the Ghost King.
But no matter how he retorted, the other party couldn't hear him. So, it became a one-sided barrage of insults, and he could only passively receive it, without any room for resistance.
Upon realizing this, the Ghost King did consider that he should have sealed his hearing like Liu Buli.
However, curiosity is not exclusive to humans.
Ghosts have it too.
Watching Liu Buli's mouth move incessantly, the Ghost King became curious about what he was saying. The way to satisfy his curiosity was, naturally, to remove the seal on his ears and listen to Liu Buli's words.
After listening, it was a new round of frustration and suffocation.
The Ghost King truly couldn't understand why Liu Buli, a human, could be so formidable. Did Liu Buli have no curiosity at all?
He was also constantly speaking, yet the other party managed to remain in a state of not hearing anything, giving him no chance to retaliate.
Didn't he want to know what he was saying?
The Ghost King thought as he listened, he was going to be driven mad by Liu Buli's mouth!
In a fit of rage, the Ghost King roared at Liu Buli, "If you think I'm so much worse than him, why don't you just let him come and fight me!? Do you think you're strong? When I kill you, you'll know how ignorant you are!"
As he shouted these words, the Ghost King didn't expect a response from Liu Buli.
Because that's how it had been before; no matter how angry he was, Liu Buli would continue his own rhythm of taunting and insulting, never responding to his words.
However, this time was different from what he expected.
As his words fell, Liu Buli actually took a step back, widening the distance between them. He even flicked his long sword, standing tall with his chin raised. Like a pure white rose blooming amidst mountains of corpses and seas of blood, he looked so clean and beautiful, yet so astonishing and terrifying.
The corners of his mouth curved upwards slightly, and Liu Buli finally offered a response. He said, "Let me correct you, I am indeed very strong. I am his master. No matter how strong that brat is, can he be stronger than his master?"
As his words ended, seeing his confident demeanor, the Ghost King was momentarily unsure.
From their exchange, he could sense that if one disregarded Liu Buli's vulnerability to injury and death, and his less potent recovery compared to ghosts, in terms of offense and defense, Liu Buli indeed had almost no discernible difference from Lu Wuming.
Opening his mouth, the Ghost King wanted to say something, but Liu Buli continued, "Also, I'm not letting him come to kill you not because he's not strong enough to kill you, nor because he has feelings for you and can't bear to kill you. It's purely from my perspective; I don't want the woman who hurt him to succeed. He told me before that everything his mother did to him was merely to make him hate you more and avenge her. If Wuming were the one to kill you, it would essentially fulfill that woman's wish. I know that woman has her reasons for all her actions, but the harm she caused Wuming is also real. When a victim inflicts their pain on others, their role in front of others is that of a perpetrator. I have no intention of fulfilling the perpetrator's wish, but you must die. Therefore, I will kill you myself, without letting Wuming lift a finger."
The Ghost King didn't quite understand what Liu Buli was saying.
However, he understood one thing: Liu Buli could now hear his voice.
So, opening his mouth again, he said, "I..."
"Stop talking, I can't hear you," Liu Buli smiled, pointing to his mouth. "I guessed from your lip movements, but from now on, I won't even bother looking at your lips. So don't think of telling me your name. As I said, I won't fulfill his mother's wish, nor will I fulfill yours. From his perspective, you are both the same existence, and thus should receive the same ending."
