Chapter 462 Ganging Up

The number of demons was far greater than imagined.

After all, Liu Buli was not Lu Wuming; he never possessed such keen senses. So, even though he knew the shadows in the room must be hiding many, it was only when dozens of demons rushed out, filling the room completely, that Liu Buli realized his previous assumptions had been too simplistic.

The corners of his mouth twitched involuntarily as Liu Buli scanned the surrounding demons.

Then, shaking his head, he sighed and put on a look of utter helplessness. He said, "I'm just an ordinary human. To deal with just me, do you really need to make such a big fuss? The more of you there are, the more it shows your own timidity. I thought you were quite formidable, but it turns out you're all a bunch of cowards! What a disappointment."

He spoke with such sincerity, as if he were genuinely disappointed by the demons' actions.

Sensing his attitude, some of the demons indeed began to hesitate. They glanced at their companions and even asked with some hesitation, "Is what we're doing really wrong? I also feel it's a bit unreasonable for a group to take on one person. Besides, he's just a human. To deal with an inferior human like him, we need so many of us. It is a bit embarrassing, isn't it..."

As this statement was made, many voices of agreement could indeed be heard. After all, in the eyes of demons, humans were indeed an inferior species.

Humans were merely food.

And to deal with food, so many of them were needed.

That was truly outrageous.

For a moment, the demons crammed together began to chatter incessantly. But before they could reach a conclusion and disperse to attack Liu Buli, the demon leading the group, standing beside the courtesan, spoke with evident displeasure, interrupting their clamor. He said, "What are you talking about? Is he an ordinary human? Before we came, there was so much information proving this guy was not normal. If you still want to fight him one-on-one, how can I report back if you die?"

He was clearly a minor leader among these demons.

The other demons dared not disobey him, and they all lowered their heads, mumbling into silence.

The demon continued, "The method doesn't matter; only the result does. His Majesty wants his head. Only by bringing his head back safely can we consider the mission complete. As for how the mission was completed, or how many people completed it, that doesn't matter, nor is it something we need to concern ourselves with. Do you understand?"

With his words, the demons who had been debating whether to fight individually immediately calmed down. Each of them glared fiercely at Liu Buli, as if they intended to rush forward and tear him apart alive.

Seeing their intentions and knowing that any further words would be futile, Liu Buli simply smiled and raised his hand, allowing fierce flames to erupt from his feet and spread outwards.

Since the number of demons was so large, and since everyone in this entire brothel was involved, he no longer had any reason to hold back.

He would fight with all his might.

Whether his opponents or accomplices died by unfortunate chance, he would have no regrets.

With this in mind, Liu Buli's attacks became even more ferocious. The building was made of wood, and under the scorching flames, it soon showed signs of collapse. The ordinary people inside had already scrambled to escape the moment the fight began.

As for the remaining demons, although they were not overly fearful of the current situation, the collapsing building still affected them. Thus, they stood there in a dilemma, unsure whether to attack Liu Buli now, accelerating the building's collapse, or to leave first and find a place that wouldn't collapse before continuing their battle.

They couldn't decide, and the result was that all the demons shifted from offense to defense, looking questioningly at their leader.

This was a situation they had never encountered before, and their leader had not anticipated it either. Who, in such a battle, would think of destroying the battlefield themselves in a mutually destructive move?

The scene became very awkward for a moment.

However, this awkwardness did not last long.

After a moment of thought, the demon leader reached a conclusion. With a cold laugh, he said to his subordinates, "Don't worry. He's just a human. Even if this place collapses and buries us all, he's the only one who will die. Since that's the case, if he wants to destroy it, we'll help him destroy it. Who's afraid of whom?"

Hearing this, his subordinates also found it reasonable. For a moment, no one hesitated, and they all began to launch a frenzied assault on Liu Buli.

Liu Buli remained remarkably calm as he felt their attacks. Perhaps his actions seemed bizarre to the demons, but only he knew that turning the surroundings into a sea of fire had two purposes: first, to illuminate the dark corners, leaving the demons nowhere to hide; second, to make the situation more conspicuous. This way, even if Lu Wuming was lured away by the trash outside, he would know something was wrong the moment the flames rose and would return as quickly as possible.

Although it wasn't true that he relied on Lu Wuming for everything, as the demon leader claimed, he did have such a good young disciple whom he could use freely. To face enemies alone would be foolish.

Liu Buli did not consider himself a foolish person.

Therefore, what he needed to do now was to protect himself in this sea of flames and eliminate as many enemies around him as possible. If he couldn't eliminate them all, it was fine; he would quietly wait for his big dog to sense the flames and come back to find him.
