Liu Buli was merely speaking casually.
After all, he possessed a confidence he couldn't quite explain, even though this was their first meeting, and his understanding of the man was limited to his name. The man had also been rambling nonsensically, saying things Liu Buli couldn't comprehend. Yet, despite all this, upon seeing the man, a voice within him kept a constant reminder, telling him that this man would absolutely never do anything to harm him.
He pondered this thought the entire way, unable to find an answer. In the end, he could only attribute this inexplicable feeling to his fondness for the man's appearance.
To be this superficial, truly no one else.
Liu Buli mused inwardly.
He remembered he wasn't like this before.
But regardless of whether he was like this before or not, bringing a stranger home now was a fact.
And the most amusing part was that after hearing his words, the stranger nervously waved his hands, as if afraid Liu Buli would abandon him if displeased. He tried his best to explain, saying he was just a very good dog, definitely not a wolf that would bite its master.
It was the first time Liu Buli had heard someone introduce themselves like that, and he found it somewhat funny. Perhaps, besides the amusement, there was also a sense of familiarity he didn't want to admit.
It was as if he had just discussed this very topic with the man not long ago.
His mood inexplicably brightened. Liu Buli reached out and ruffled the man's hair, then finally pushed open his apartment door, leading the man inside.
As he lived alone, the apartment wasn't very large.
When it was just him, Liu Buli would feel the small apartment seemed rather empty. But now, with two people crammed in, Liu Buli realized his previous thought was somewhat mistaken.
This small place was only enough for him to live in alone.
"The apartment has one bedroom and one living room. I never expected to have a guest staying over," Liu Buli explained as he introduced his home to Lu Wuming. "So, if you plan to stay, there's no bed for you. But fortunately, our sofa is quite large and soft, so you can sleep on the sofa tonight. You don't mind, do you?"
From Liu Buli's perspective, he felt the man shouldn't mind. After all, he had brought the person home and even cleared out his sofa for the other to sleep on. He had already made such a significant concession; it would be inappropriate if the other person wasn't grateful. But why, after he finished speaking, could he clearly see an unhappy expression on the man's face?
Frowning along with him, Liu Buli was not accustomed to interacting with others. Especially when standing on his own territory, discussing how to divide his living space with someone else made his mood even more irritable.
He raised his hand and pressed hard on his forehead twice. Liu Buli changed his approach, asking, "You seem to have some dissatisfaction. If there's anything bothering you, just say it directly. We can discuss and resolve it. If we can't resolve it, then you can get out of my house. I'm merely taking you in out of kindness, not intending to be your servant."
"I didn't ask you to treat me like that," Lu Wuming replied softly.
He knew that his Master had forgotten him, but seeing his Master's attitude towards him still caused his heart to ache.
However, even so, he had to try his best to secure the rights he was entitled to. Clenching his fingers, Lu Wuming took a deep breath, then took Liu Buli's hand and led him into the adjacent room. He pointed to the large double bed in the center of the bedroom and said, "Master, this bed is more than enough for both of us to sleep in. And from the beginning until now, we've always slept like this. Why is it that in a different place, you're unwilling to sleep with me? Have I done something wrong?"
Liu Buli: ...
Brother, we only met today.
It hasn't even been four hours since we exchanged names. You're already discussing sleeping together tonight. Don't you think that's a bit inappropriate?
Liu Buli desperately wanted to ask this question, but seeing the other's demeanor, he remained silent.
Of course, it wasn't because he didn't want to speak.
It was because he clearly saw something in the other's gaze –
Lu Wuming didn't think there was anything inappropriate about it at all.
In fact, just as he said, he felt that it was what they should be doing, for the two of them to sleep together.
Recalling what the man had told him earlier about them having already gone through the wedding ceremony and being together, Liu Buli felt his cheeks burn with heat.
He deliberately averted his gaze, not knowing why he was feeling shy. He even felt a bit guilty, instinctively wanting to avoid the other's eyes. Once his heartbeat slowed down a bit, Liu Buli finally spoke, "Even if you tell me this, I have no memory of that time. To me, you're just someone I met today. I don't have the habit of sleeping with others. If you were by my side, I wouldn't be able to sleep at all. This isn't good for me, so..."
"So how can you be sure if what I'm telling you is the truth or a lie if you don't try?"
Lu Wuming interrupted Liu Buli for the first time, his eyes filled with earnestness. He stared intently at Liu Buli's face and said, "Let me sleep with you tonight. If you truly find it unbearable and can't sleep, I'll obediently come out and sleep on my own. But if you can sleep comfortably in my arms, doesn't that prove I'm telling the truth, and your body still remembers being with me?"
His words left Liu Buli speechless.
He instinctively felt that something was not quite right. But he opened his mouth, yet couldn't think of any rebuttal.
For a nonsensical experiment, he was going to share a bed with a stranger tonight?
This was even more insane than his dreams.
Yet, the most insane one was himself.
Because looking at the man's face, inexplicably, Liu Buli nodded. In a voice as small as a mosquito's hum, he replied, "Then let's do that."
