Lu Wuming spoke thus, and indeed, he acted accordingly.
At the very least, on their journey away from this place, he held Liu Buli, cradled in his arms, so steadily that the latter didn't feel the slightest discomfort.
The remnants of the evil god had been shattered, and there was truly nothing around them that could cause them harm. Lu Wuming simply followed the path they had taken, and before long, he spotted the exit.
He intended to say something to Liu Buli, but when he looked down, he discovered that Liu Buli had, at some point, fallen asleep comfortably in his embrace.
Seeing the sleeping face, Lu Wuming paused for a moment, then a smile of resignation spread across his face.
The environments filled with malevolent thoughts and malice they had encountered were, for him, a place where he could feast. However, for an ordinary person like Liu Buli, the longer he stayed in such a place, the more harm he would suffer. This harm wasn't something tangible; perhaps, like now, it simply made him feel extremely fatigued.
As for the solution, it was quite simple.
Allowing him to rest properly was all it took.
When it came to his master, Lu Wuming always acted with great intelligence. Just at this moment, he knew exactly what Liu Buli needed without being told.
Reaching the exit of the underground palace, Lu Wuming pondered for a moment, then sat down right there. He didn't immediately take Liu Buli out because he was certain that if they left like this, they would soon encounter Shen Muzhi and his group again.
Once they met those people, whether to preserve the sect leader's dignity or for some other reason, Liu Buli, even if still feeling unwell, would certainly not continue to sleep in his arms.
Therefore, it was better for him to make the decision: they would stay here until his master had fully rested. After all, he had thoroughly cleared away the surrounding malice and malevolence. Liu Buli would no longer suffer any mental harm, and this sleep would ultimately bring him some comfort.
Lu Wuming thought to himself, then lowered his head to look at the person in his arms again.
No matter how long he looked, or how many times he gazed upon Liu Buli's face, he couldn't help but feel that this person was simply too beautiful.
It was as if every detail was beautiful to the depths of his heart. Even just looking like this, without doing anything or saying anything, his love for Liu Buli only grew deeper.
If this were a poison, Lu Wuming was certain that he was now deeply poisoned and beyond cure.
And the most terrifying thing wasn't this feeling of being poisoned. It was that he knew he was deeply entangled in it, yet he had no intention of changing anything, even feeling that it wasn't so bad, and enjoying the pleasure of being immersed in it.
He had truly gone mad.
Lu Wuming sighed, then held the person in his arms even tighter. He nuzzled Liu Buli's cheek and whispered into his ear, "Master, Wuming truly loves you to death..."
This heartfelt confession, of course, Liu Buli did not hear.
Because once his tense nerves relaxed, the quality of his sleep was far better than he had imagined.
He had initially intended to only sleep through the journey out, thinking that once they left and met Shen Muzhi and the others, he would naturally be woken up and likely recover somewhat. However, he never expected that when he finally woke up, he looked around and found that they seemed to still be in the underground palace, close to the exit but not having left.
Then, looking in the other direction, before he could say anything, his gaze met a pair of eyes filled with a gentle smile.
Liu Buli blinked in surprise. Once his senses had slightly returned, he asked with a puzzled expression, "Wuming, didn't I ask you to take me out? Why are we still here?"
As the words left his mouth, he glanced at the nearby exit and instinctively drew his own conclusion. He said, "Is there some mechanism at this exit? Can't you solve it? What happened? Tell me, I..."
Before he could finish speaking, Lu Wuming, still holding him, stood up again. Then, to his surprised gaze, Lu Wuming calmly walked out of the exit. His actions provided Liu Buli with the answer, showing him that there was no problem with the exit.
Realizing this, Liu Buli's expression became even more peculiar. He said, "If there's no problem, why did you..."
"I wanted Master to rest a little longer. There's no other reason," Lu Wuming replied. "There's nothing urgent anyway, and the magical artifact you want isn't something we need to rush to get. Since that's the case, if you're uncomfortable, you should rest properly. This is something Master taught me before. Why is it that when it comes to yourself, you never take it to heart?"
Being seen through by his silly disciple, Liu Buli felt a little embarrassed for a moment. He raised a hand to scratch his head and said with a smile, "It's really nothing serious, just felt a bit tired. After sleeping, I'm fine now, so..."
"Master, are you sure you're completely fine now?"
Liu Buli's words were once again interrupted by Lu Wuming.
He asked very seriously.
Liu Buli couldn't understand what was happening. Had he fallen into a coma while sleeping, or said something in his sleep? Otherwise, why would Lu Wuming suddenly ask him in such a serious tone? Liu Buli was momentarily bewildered.
However, since it was his disciple's concern for him, to prevent him from worrying further, Liu Buli nodded firmly, even though he didn't understand the reason. He said, "I feel completely recovered now, never been this energetic before. So you really don't need to worry at all."
Lu Wuming nodded.
He looked down at Liu Buli's eyes and, sensing the sincerity in his gaze, Lu Wuming smiled. He said, "If that's the case, then after we leave the secret realm, Master should give me a reward. Since you've recovered, I can't say I'm forcing you, can I?"
