Chapter 148 Arriving at Lianghu Hospital

"Sir, we have arrived at our destination," driver Xiao Wang said to Fang Ming and Zheng Zhu Liu.

"Arrived?" Fang Ming craned his neck to look out the car window. The surroundings were desolate, and a large, abandoned hospital stood alone on the wasteland.

Fang Ming and Zheng Zhu Liu got out of the car, bid farewell to the driver, and stood observing the hospital.

"Indeed, there's a strong miasma of resentment."

Fang Ming gazed solemnly at the sky above the hospital. Gloomy clouds swirled there, not a sign of rain but a result of the intensely concentrated resentment.

Of course, it hadn't reached the point where the resentment condensed into fog. If it had, resentful spirits would likely be flying everywhere.

"Shall we go in now?" Zheng Zhu Liu asked.

"Let's wait," Fang Ming said, no longer in a hurry upon seeing the hospital. His multiple risky adventures had taught him that some things couldn't be rushed, especially without Nannan's help. He was, at best, only a fierce spirit now.

Zheng Zhu Liu was taken aback and asked curiously, "Is there something else?"

Fang Ming waved his phone.

"Let's check the hospital's situation first, including structural diagrams, so we're not going in blind."

His phone contained detailed information about the hospital from Mayor Huang, which he intended to review.

"Take a look at the hospital's layout. Do you have any thoughts?"

Fang Ming handed his phone to Zheng Zhu Liu.

Zheng Zhu Liu understood some of the esoteric arts, particularly renowned in Feng Shui. This was why he had gained such a reputation in the tomb-robbing world.

"This layout..." Zheng Zhu Liu zoomed in on the hospital's blueprints, examining the distribution of buildings.

He soon noticed something amiss.

"This hospital was built with the guidance of a master," Zheng Zhu Liu remarked.

Zheng Zhu Liu nodded. "Most likely. I wonder who would do such a wicked thing."

"Once a geomantic treasure spot is twisted, it becomes a place of great misfortune. These resentments were gathered here, leading to the current situation."

"If that's the case, then I can rest easy," Fang Ming smiled. "At least it proves this isn't an entrance to the Immortal Realm or some inner realm."

"Resentment that forms naturally in the real world shouldn't be too powerful."

In the real world, resentment wasn't strong enough to manifest into powerful vengeful spirits. As expected, the vengeful spirits here were, at most, fierce spirits.

However, Fang Ming was perplexed. Why would a clue related to the principal be here?

"Let's go. We're going in now." Fang Ming put away his phone and strode towards the hospital, with Zheng Zhu Liu following closely.

They reached the hospital's main gate, a large iron gate through which they could see the hospital grounds.

The sign for "Lianghu Sunshine Hospital" was rusted and dilapidated, with nearly half the characters missing. The walls were covered in mottled moss, and the hospital grounds were overgrown with weeds. The planted trees were still growing, rustling in the cold wind.

Within the buildings, pairs of eyes peered out from behind dusty windows, constantly watching the world outside.

Fang Ming's gaze fell upon the windows of the buildings. Those beings thought Fang Ming wouldn't notice them, and they brazenly met his gaze.

"They're asking for it," Fang Ming sneered.

"What's wrong?" Zheng Zhu Liu asked upon hearing Fang Ming's sudden remark.

"Nothing. I saw a few specters inside," Fang Ming smiled. "Let's go in."

Fang Ming approached the large iron gate. His body instantly transformed into a monstrous fierce spirit, tens of meters tall, exuding a terrifying aura.

Zheng Zhu Liu stared, dumbfounded. What was Fang Ming planning?

What was he planning? Of course, he was going to flatten the place.

Fang Ming didn't have time for an exploration game. He wanted to crush everything in his path and force out the clue related to the principal!

"Number One, Qing Mian, you too!"

Two spectral patterns on Fang Ming's body flowed off him like liquid, transforming into Number One and Qing Mian.

"The three of us will raze this hospital to the ground!"

"Kekeke, I, Nicholas Elizabeth, am totally okay with that," Number One boasted.

Qing Mian said nothing further and disappeared into the mirror dimension.

With a "crack," Fang Ming ripped the iron gate apart and strode inside.

Inside the hospital, numerous vengeful spirits were awakened. They felt a powerful, murderous aura enter.

"So cold... I'm so cold..."

"Die... die..."

"Hehehe, hehehe..."

Within the hospital buildings, vengeful spirits stirred. They clung to the windows, their faces twisted with resentment or cruelty.

"Hmph!" Fang Ming snorted, leaped, and smashed against a window. A claw pierced the glass, grabbing a vengeful spirit inside.

"Ah! Ah! It burns! It burns!" This vengeful spirit was just a specter. The moment it touched sunlight, it screamed as its body corroded and vanished as if doused in acid.

"Bang!" Fang Ming threw it to the ground, killing it, then activated a rune on his body.

"Annihilation!"

A strange wave spread from Fang Ming, disintegrating anything it touched, be it walls or vengeful spirits.

The vengeful spirits hit by the annihilation died before they could even scream, their bodies then dissipating.

Not far behind him, Zheng Zhu Liu swallowed hard, a shiver running down his spine. When had Fang Ming become so terrifying?

He hadn't directly faced this unseen "annihilation," but from a distance, he could feel a fear that made his whole body tremble.

If facing the powerful Nannan had felt like racial oppression and fear, like facing a natural enemy, then facing Fang Ming's "annihilation" was a pure, instinctive, unknown fear.

It felt like death itself!

In the distance, after releasing the annihilation, Fang Ming saw the partially destroyed building and sneered. He punched the base.

"Boom!"

The entire building shook. The vengeful spirits hiding inside lost their initial arrogance and began to flee frantically. By now, how could they not know what was happening?

That fellow creature from outside wanted to kill them all!

"Boom, boom, boom..." Fang Ming unleashed a series of punches. Cracks appeared on the base of the building, and with a final "crack," the load-bearing pillars inside were completely broken.

"Rumble..."

The ten-story building began to shake, and the ground trembled.

"Oh my god!" Zheng Zhu Liu yelped and bolted.

He had no choice. His position was directly in the path of the collapsing building. If he didn't run, he'd be crushed into a meat patty!

"Boom!"

The building collapsed, sending up a cloud of dust.

Vengeful spirits scrambled out of the rubble, fleeing towards other buildings.

But upon contact with sunlight, their bodies began to corrode and burn, writhing in pain.

Meanwhile, at a distance from the hospital, driver Xiao Wang was operating a piece of equipment. The display screen clearly showed Fang Ming's actions.

"This monster..." Xiao Wang felt his mouth go dry, at a loss for words.

He had learned from Mayor Huang that Mr. Fang wasn't human, but he hadn't expected him to be such an outlandish monster.

How could he have brought down such a tall building with just a few punches?

Even a standard rocket launcher couldn't do that.

The images from Xiao Wang's equipment were instantly transmitted to Mayor Huang's side.

At that moment, in a conference room at the H City municipal building, a group of people were watching the live feed with serious expressions. Mayor Huang was among them, but he could only sit at the back.

"Is this the strength of these monsters?" the elder man at the head of the table said gravely.

Mayor Huang quickly replied, "Yes, this is their strength. And in my opinion, Fang Ming's strength isn't that great; he's much weaker than that toad monster from before."

"Are those small creatures also these kinds of monsters?"

The elder pointed at the specters fleeing the hospital buildings. Some had only a human head with a pile of tentacles for a neck, while others were formed from several arms with an eye in the center, and other strange appearances.

To an ordinary person, these appearances were undoubtedly those of ghosts and monsters.

"Yes, they are too, but much weaker. Our soldiers can usually handle one or two with specialized equipment," Mayor Huang explained.

"Furthermore, according to current research, these monsters detest sunlight. Especially the weaker ones; sunlight alone can kill them."

"Is that so..." The elder fell silent for a moment, then waved to his secretary and whispered a few words.

"Yes, sir. I'll arrange it immediately," the secretary bowed and left the conference room.

"Look, a new monster has appeared!" someone suddenly exclaimed. The others quickly turned their attention back to the live feed.

At that moment, in the hospital.

Fang Ming had just destroyed the first building and was about to move on to the second when a vengeful spirit resembling a giant lizard crawled out of the ground-floor entrance of an adjacent building.

As soon as it emerged, its body began to swell, growing to a hundred meters in length in the blink of an eye.

It opened its maw, with another head growing inside its mouth. Its body was covered in countless eyes, its tail curled, with an arm growing at its tip, an eye in its palm.

"Finally, something decent," Fang Ming sneered, his scales shimmering and rustling.
