Chapter 134: The Siege and the Slaughter

The moment Fang Ming lethally struck the security guard, most of the miners within the entire mine began to move. Like a horde of zombies, they advanced step by step towards the upper residential area.

"This is bad, Fang Ming actually attacked the people here."

Fang Daolong felt a headache coming on. Fang Ming was his son, after all. He couldn't just stand by and watch Fang Ming be surrounded by these miners. Even if it disrupted his plans, he had to intervene.

Mother Fang came to Fang Daolong's side. As Fang Daolong's right-hand woman, she was privy to the secret of these miners.

"Fang Ming attacked the people in the mine?" Mother Fang asked with concern.

Fang Daolong nodded, "Besides him, it wouldn't be anyone else. Getting the miners' 'sha xin' (煞心) is going to be difficult now."

Mother Fang wasn't too bothered by that. Instead, she was very worried about Fang Ming's situation.

"Let's go save Fang Ming quickly. You never told him about the situation in this mine. If he keeps killing, he won't be able to hold on."

Fang Daolong sighed, "Let's go. We need to hurry. I hope we can suppress these miners."

The two followed closely behind the group of miners, heading towards Fang Ming's location.

Meanwhile, Fang Ming, unaware he had inadvertently caused a major problem, was still making his way towards the residential area with Nannan.

The people in the residential area had become like the miners, walking step by step towards Fang Ming's hiding spot. Some even carried weapons like clubs.

"Strange, why do I suddenly feel like I'm being watched?" Fang Ming asked, puzzled, turning to Nannan. "Do you feel it?"

Nannan nodded slightly, "The moment you killed that security guard, I had this feeling."

Fang Ming listened and rubbed his chin. He felt like he had unintentionally done something wrong, but he couldn't figure it out no matter how hard he thought. He had no choice but to dismiss the thought and continue towards the residential area.

Soon, they reached the door of the first house. After a quick glance inside to confirm no one was there, they climbed through the window.

The owner of this room was likely a man. The furnishings were simple, but every item was luxurious. Some men's clothes hung on one side of the room. To the left of the wall were two doors, presumably this person's bedrooms.

Fang Ming rummaged through the living room, finding nothing of value. He then opened a bedroom door and went inside.

The bedroom contained a desk, a wardrobe, and a large bed. A sexy piece of women's lingerie lay on the bed. "He sure has a lively hobby," Fang Ming chuckled, then walked over to the desk and opened a drawer.

There were three drawers. The first drawer contained a few peculiar items. Fang Ming hadn't eaten pork, but he'd seen pigs run, so he disdainfully closed the drawer, not letting Nannan look.

The second drawer held two documents.

"Nanshan Mining Share Transfer Contract?" Fang Ming curiously pulled out the contract and opened it to examine its contents. It was roughly an agreement where a person named Wang Quan was selling his shares to a company called Yongsheng.

"One share priced at 13,000?" Fang Ming stroked his chin, contemplating the contract's contents.

This Wang Quan was selling all twenty thousand of his shares, which amounted to a couple of hundred million. It sounded like a lot, but the problem was the mine was a golden goose. With twenty thousand shares, the annual dividends were fifty to sixty million. Selling it would be a huge loss, wouldn't it?

Fang Ming couldn't figure it out and put the contract back. He then opened the third drawer, which contained some watches and jewelry. Judging by the brands, they were all foreign and likely expensive.

There were no valuable clues in the drawer. Fang Ming stood up and scanned the room. He lifted the quilt, and another document was hidden beneath it.

Fang Ming took out the document.

"Emergency Evacuation Notice?" Fang Ming's heart sank, a bad premonition washing over him. He quickly opened the document to examine it.

The document was a weather forecast file from F Province, stating that H City would soon experience continuous heavy rainfall and that all units should prepare for disaster prevention and suspend their current work arrangements.

Fang Ming glanced at the time. The document was issued two days ago, meaning the heavy rain a few days later had already been anticipated.

"Damn it!" Fang Ming thought of something. Could it be that these high-level executives deliberately concealed this information to exploit the workers, leading to the subsequent accident?

If that were the case, these executives deserved to die!

Fang Ming took out his phone and took a picture of the entire document, then put the document back in its place. He continued searching the room, but found no more useful clues.

"Nannan, let's go check out other rooms."

Fang Ming led Nannan out of the bedroom, but suddenly!

"Bang!"

The door to the living room was suddenly struck by something, followed by a series of smashing sounds. Several security guards discovered the open window and scrambled into the house.

What's going on?!

Fang Ming was startled. Had he been discovered?

The security guards saw Fang Ming at this moment, their faces contorting into ferocious masks as they roared and lunged at him.

Fang Ming's heart sank as he looked at their expressions. This situation... how could it be so similar to the miners he encountered when he was trapped in the abyss?

What caused these security guards to become like walking dead?

But now was not the time to ponder these questions. Several security guards had already pounced. Before Fang Ming could say anything, Nannan made the first move. Several strands of hair appeared in the air, and the security guards, upon colliding with them, were instantly sliced into pieces.

The deaths of the security guards further agitated the reasonless individuals in the mine. Their footsteps quickened, and those outside the door who were still banging on it became even more frantic.

"Bang, bang, bang..." The door was battered and shaking precariously.

Fang Ming moved to the windowsill and peered outside at an angle. Good heavens, at least dozens of people were gathered outside the door! They were all security guards and staff from the residential area.

What on earth was happening?

Fang Ming ordered Nannan to act. The situation had escalated, and they could only fight their way out.

"Nannan, deal with them."

With a wave of her small hand, countless strands of hair emerged from thin air, piercing through the door and stringing up everyone outside. The noisy clamor outside instantly ceased.

"Swish, swish, swish..." The hair danced, shredding everyone, then devouring the scattered blood and disappearing back into the air.

"They're all dealt with," Nannan said.

"Alright, let's move to the next room quickly."

Since they had been discovered, Fang Ming knew time was of the essence. He hurried out of the room with Nannan, but the scene not far away made his jaw drop.

Outside the residential area, a vast sea of miners was approaching, like a horde of maddened zombies, carrying their work tools as makeshift weapons.

"Holy crap!" Fang Ming couldn't help but exclaim. The sight before him was too shocking.

One had to realize that a thousand people were a crowd, and here, the miners in the entire mine numbered at least ten to twenty thousand!

Ten to twenty thousand, what kind of concept was that? Even if ordinary people were to wield knives, they would exhaust themselves to death.

"Let's go!"

Forgetting about searching for clues, Fang Ming quickly led Nannan to hide deeper within the residential area.

Fang Ming glanced at the map and the diary, inwardly cursing, "Damn it, this residential area only has one entrance and exit!"

He was trapped like a turtle in a jar!

The main entrance was blocked by tens of thousands of miners. If he wanted to leave, he had to fight his way out.

Even if he ran deeper, he would eventually be surrounded by these miners again.

Fang Ming stopped, his body transforming directly into the 'resentful fiend' form. A monster with a snake's tail and a human torso, dozens of meters tall, appeared in the residential area. Humans were like ants in his eyes.

Nannan also prepared for battle, floating in mid-air, countless strands of hair hidden in the air, ready to attack at any moment.

"Die!"

"Kill him!"

"I hate this so much..."

The miners swarmed forward, and Fang Ming and Nannan activated their skills.

"Annihilation!"

The rune on Fang Ming's chest lit up, and a wave of energy spread forward. Nannan stretched out her small hands, and strands of hair, like venomous snakes, precisely targeted each miner.

Each miner who touched the energy wave emanating from Fang Ming was instantly decomposed and disappeared. Nannan's attacks also turned swaths of miners into ashes.

Although these miners appeared numerous, their strength was actually not very high, not even much stronger than ordinary people. They were utterly incapable of resisting Fang Ming and Nannan.

In just a few minutes, these miners were completely slaughtered. There was no river of blood on the ground, only piles of corpses and ashes.

Meanwhile, Fang Daolong, who was rushing over, suddenly felt the madness of the miners around him and his heart sank!

This is bad! Fang Ming had already engaged with the first wave of miners!

There's no time!

Fang Daolong didn't know Fang Ming's exact location and could only continue to follow this group of miners towards Fang Ming's position.

After Fang Ming finished slaughtering the first wave of miners, these dead miners reappeared at their original workstations!

They then continued to move towards Fang Ming's location, but now they were even more ferocious and their strength had increased significantly!

Fang Ming looked at the miners he had just killed and felt a strange sensation in his heart. This was the first time he had massacred "humans" like this. Although he kept telling himself that these were just illusions, he couldn't help but tremble.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Fang Ming prepared to leave with Nannan. The feeling of being watched had not disappeared. By slaughtering the "NPCs" in this world, he had likely alerted the resentful fiends behind it.

But where could they go now?

Fang Ming took out the diary and took a look. His heart sank completely.

"I take Nannan and leave the residential area, but I am surrounded by endless miners. The miners are inexhaustible, and can't be killed off!

My father arrives from a distance, following the miners."
