Chapter 51 Wen Yan's Plagiarism

Slowly, their breaths intertwined.

Wen Yan's heartbeat pounded in her ears.

Just as they were about to kiss, she abruptly stopped.

No.

How could she do something like this, taking advantage of his vulnerability?

Wen Yan quickly calmed her breathing and prepared to withdraw, but the next second, the man's handsome face suddenly loomed closer, and his warm lips pressed down. Wen Yan's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at the man before her. He still had his eyes closed, but his lips were firmly against hers, slowly beginning to move.

As the man gradually took the lead, Wen Yan's mind went blank. Her lips and teeth were filled with his warmth, and the familiar scent of his hormones filled her nostrils. She felt her heart pounding as if it would leap out of her chest.

After more than two minutes, just as Wen Yan could barely breathe, the man finally released her. His deep eyes, as dark and inky as spilled ink, stared at her, like a black hole luring her in to drown.

Wen Yan stared at him with her misty, luminous eyes.

"Get up, I'll go buy breakfast," the man said, his voice deep and hoarse. He then stood up and left.

Wen Yan hummed in response.

After he left, Wen Yan felt her face burning and hurried to the bathroom to wash up.

A while later, Leng Xunze returned with hu la tang, soy milk, and steamed buns. They exchanged a glance, and Leng Xunze said, "Eat."

"Okay."

They ate in silence.

A subtle, unusual emotion seemed to be brewing in the air. Wen Yan's face remained flushed all the way to the company, and she didn't notice the strange looks from her colleagues.

Yang Qian watched Wen Yan, wanting to speak but hesitating. Wen Yan noticed.

"What's wrong?"

"Wen Yan, you..."

Before Yang Qian could finish speaking, someone strode over aggressively.

"Wen Yan, come with me!"

Lin Fang's face was extremely grim.

Wen Yan found it strange and stood up to follow her.

In the reception room.

Several people were seated inside, dressed in formal wear, their expressions solemn.

Among them was a woman with large waves in her hair, very beautiful and fashionably dressed.

This face often appeared in major domestic magazines.

"Miss Nuo, apologies for the wait. Our designer is here." Lin Fang was also bowing and scraping to her. Nuo Feiya nodded coldly and glanced at Wen Yan, a sinister smile curving her lips.

Young, but deeply calculating.

She hadn't intended to come herself, thinking the project department would suffice.

However, she wanted to see for herself what kind of girl could capture An Xi Leng's favor.

Now, it seemed, apart from being quite attractive, she was nothing special.

She lowered her gaze and began playing with her phone.

"You are Wen Yan?" a woman in a suit beside her asked, very sternly.

Wen Yan nodded, "Yes, I am Wen Yan. Hello."

The other party's expression suddenly turned grim.

"This is your design draft?" A design draft was slapped onto the table.

Wen Yan looked at it and confirmed it was her design draft, "Yes."

She was just very confused, what was going on?

"Wen Yan, you have some nerve, daring to plagiarize!"

The project director's words made Wen Yan's face change. The subsequent evidence left everyone speechless. Wen Yan stared in shock at the news on her phone – an international media report that revealed a design almost identical to hers. Anyone with knowledge of the field could see it was absolute plagiarism.

But Wen Yan was certain that her work was not plagiarized, not even a hint of it.

Therefore, there was only one possibility.

"This is my work," Wen Yan stated firmly.

The other party sneered at her words.

"Do you know who this is?"

Wen Yan looked at her, awaiting her next words. The woman said with a hint of disdain, "This is the work of the new rising designer, Wang Rui."

Wang Rui was a dark horse who had recently emerged in the design world.

Her design ability was outstanding, and she had gained the favor of many senior designers.

Wen Yan had seen her work and didn't particularly like it, finding it somewhat opportunistic.

Upon hearing this, she was slightly surprised. The project director's gaze grew even more contemptuous, "If you insist this is your work, are you suggesting Wang Rui plagiarized you?"

"It's not impossible," Wen Yan replied.

As soon as she finished speaking, the people opposite couldn't help but laugh, a harsh, grating sound.

Even Nuo Feiya couldn't help but glance at the woman opposite.

She looked meek and obedient, yet she could say such things.

Nuo Feiya looked at her, "Do you know who Wang Rui is?"

"No matter who the other party is, it won't change the fact that this work was painstakingly designed by me," Wen Yan's voice was firm and resonant.

Lin Fang was extremely embarrassed.

What an idiot! Did she really think Wang Rui would plagiarize her? Lin Fang had initially thought Wen Yan was talented, but now she saw she was a plagiarist, perhaps even her previous works were plagiarized.

"Enough, Wen Yan, stop talking," Lin Fang said, suppressing her anger. Then, to the project director and the others, she apologized profusely, "I'm so sorry, this is all due to our company's inadequate employee training. I will fire Wen Yan immediately. Our company will absolutely not tolerate such behavior."

Wen Yan's eyes grew cold, and she interrupted, "I can swear on my honor that I have absolutely no act of plagiarism! Furthermore, I can provide my initial design drafts as evidence. And, I have always seen Wang Rui's designs, her style is completely different from this. I have ample evidence to prove this is mine!"

Nuo Feiya chuckled, "But I also have the right not to believe it, don't I? Those drafts of yours could have been drawn later, or Wang Rui could produce a draft and claim she designed it a month ago. What would you do then? Wang Rui's design drafts have already been released, and we cannot use your plagiarized work anymore!"

Her voice grew colder, filled with authority.

Wen Yan looked at Nuo Feiya, a chill running through her.

Because she realized Nuo Feiya's words were not without reason.

"Can't speak anymore? Honestly admit your plagiarism, and perhaps I would respect you a little," Nuo Feiya said mockingly, looking at her as if she were some petty person.

Such a gaze made Wen Yan extremely humiliated.

"Give me time, I will definitely find the evidence!" Wen Yan said.

Nuo Feiya looked at her.

So stubborn!

"Fine, I'll give you one day. If you can't find the evidence, then prepare to pay the breach of contract fee!" Nuo Feiya said haughtily, then stood up and left. Lin Fang hurried to escort her out.

Wen Yan returned to her workspace, almost dejected.

Plagiarism was too common in the design world, yet she never expected it to happen to her, and for her to be labeled the plagiarist!

The designers around her now looked at Wen Yan with disdain.

After Nuo Feiya left, they began to speak without reservation, "Oh my god, is this woman crazy? She actually plagiarized Wang Rui's work. Doesn't she know she'd be found out sooner or later?"

"What bad luck. If this gets out, the company's reputation will be affected."

"Thought she was a genius, turns out she's an idiot! So embarrassing!"

Wen Yan suddenly interrupted them, "I did not plagiarize!"

Everyone instantly fell silent.

Yang Qian, who had been paying close attention to Wen Yan, saw this and said, "I watched Wen Yan design it piece by piece. I think there might be some misunderstanding. There's no need to jump to conclusions!"

Luo Ziyu also hesitated, "Yes, I think Wen Yan must have her reasons. I don't think she's that kind of person either."
