When Ming Ji Shiyou arrived at Taoyuan Xiaozhu, he felt the doorman's gaze was strange, a mix of respect and fawning.
Eager to see Mingyue, he paid it no mind and headed directly for the private room at Shui Yi Fang.
From afar, he saw people fighting at the entrance of the private room, or rather, someone being beaten.
"Zhe Cheng, what are you doing? Why did you beat someone like this? If you want to fight, find another place. Mingyue and I are having a date here, don't ruin the mood!"
As he got closer, he saw that the one doing the beating was Zhe Cheng, and the one being beaten was unrecognizable. His features were so distorted that it was impossible to tell his true appearance, only that he was a man with a mustache.
The man knelt on the ground, not begging for mercy, as Zhe Cheng rained blows upon him.
Ji Shiyou couldn't stand it and quickly pulled Zhe Cheng away. It wasn't out of pity for the man, but because he was supposed to have a date with Mingyue there, and Zhe Cheng's public display of violence was ruining the atmosphere.
"Ancestor, you've finally arrived! You said you wanted a date, why pick Taoyuan Xiaozhu of all places? You've dragged me into this. Please, when we go in, beg for me. I don't want to go to the disciplinary hall. It's all this blind fool's fault for daring to offend the Young Miss!"
Seeing Ji Shiyou, Zhe Cheng acted as if he had found a savior, pleading with Ji Shiyou to intercede for him. Then, he turned to the kneeling man with the mustache and delivered another round of kicks and punches.
Zhe Cheng's words were rambling, but Ji Shiyou caught a few key phrases, like "offended the Young Miss." He knew that the "Young Miss" Zhe Cheng was referring to was Mingyue.
Realizing that Mingyue might have been bullied, he felt a pang of worry and immediately entered the private room.
Fortunately, he saw Mingyue sitting in a chair, seemingly unharmed. However, her face was grim, and she appeared to be in a bad mood, clearly angry.
"What happened? Damn this traffic, it made me late. Are you hurt? Who bullied you to make you so angry? I'll get revenge for you."
Ji Shiyou walked over and asked with concern, regretting not insisting on picking her up himself. If he had gone home to pick her up, his darling wouldn't have been bullied.
"Pfft! Who could possibly bully me? Look at how worried you are. I'm angry at Zhe Cheng, it has nothing to do with you. You want to get revenge for me? Alright, these two people are yours to deal with."
Seeing Ji Shiyou's anxious expression, Mingyue chuckled, and her displeasure vanished. She was angry, not for Jing Jia or Ying Ying, but for Zhe Cheng. Taoyuan Xiaozhu was an establishment owned by Wushang, and Zhe Cheng was Wushang's representative in China. The manager of Taoyuan Xiaozhu had such poor character, easily instigated, and resorted to violence against guests without any regard for the facts. This was Zhe Cheng's failure in supervision and dereliction of duty. Therefore, after she disciplined the mustached man and Jing Jia, she directly summoned Zhe Cheng. She intended to hold him accountable as a member of the Wushang family and rectify the situation.
Zhe Cheng, trembling with fear, had just arrived when Ying Ying, who had been unconscious, woke up. Seeing the scene, she was utterly terrified and cowered in a corner. The mustached manager, seeing Zhe Cheng address Mingyue with such deference as "Young Miss," was petrified. He had offended the head of Wushang; his life was forfeit.
Jing Jia, whose face was already beaten beyond recognition, finally understood why Mingyue had spoken with such authority earlier, threatening to kick her out and have her blacklisted from Taoyuan Xiaozhu. For Mingyue, these were mere words. Mingyue's status was far beyond what she had imagined. All she hoped now was that Mingyue, having vented her anger, would calm down. She prayed Mingyue wouldn't pursue the matter further and would let her go. She promised never to appear before Mingyue again and would leave the capital immediately after returning home, even going abroad.
Mingyue instructed Zhe Cheng to take the mustached man and the others away for processing, and to return for his punishment after they were dealt with. Jing Jia and Ying Ying were not mentioned, so they dared not leave nor ask, and could only kneel in the corner awaiting their fate.
Zhe Cheng, feeling implicated, was furious and immediately beat up the mustached man outside, which Ji Shiyou witnessed. Since Jing Jia had some connection with Ji Shiyou, and Mingyue was unsure how to handle her, she used this opportunity to hand Jing Jia over to Ji Shiyou.
"Brother Shiyou, please listen to me. This is all a misunderstanding. I really didn't mean to. If I had known she had such power, I would never have insulted her. She's already beaten me this badly. Please, for Aunt Huiyin's sake, let me go!" Jing Jia saw Ji Shiyou as a lifeline and pleaded desperately. To gain his forgiveness, she didn't hesitate to invoke the name of Ji Shiyou's deceased mother.
"You're Jing Jia? I warned you not to provoke Mingyue again. You still dared to insult her and even brought up my mother. If I hadn't promised my mother that I would look after you, do you think I would have tolerated you until now? When your family's company faced a crisis, who provided unconditional capital injection? For years, you've caused trouble in my name, and who has cleaned up your messes? Have you ever calculated how much I've spent on your expenses over the years? All of this was out of consideration for my mother, but everything has its limits. Now, you've overdrawn your credit. You offended Mingyue, and Mingyue has taught you a lesson. This matter is now settled, you can leave. However, my assistance to your Jing family will be entirely withdrawn. And you, Ying Ying, your families will also have to pay the price for offending my wife today."
Initially, Ji Shiyou didn't recognize the pig-headed person kneeling by the wall as Jing Jia. It was only when he heard her speak that he realized who it was. However, upon hearing that Jing Jia had insulted Mingyue, he became truly enraged. He took out his phone and directly instructed them to withdraw the capital injection to Jing Yide Company. He also ordered that within three days, he wanted to see Jing Shi Group and Ying Ying's family's Zheng Group go bankrupt.
Jing Jia and Ying Ying breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Ji Shiyou's initial words, but his subsequent statement struck them like lightning. Ji Shiyou was so ruthless as to ruin their family businesses; this was tantamount to taking their lives. If their companies went bankrupt, with their abilities, they might not even be able to afford food. If their fathers found out that their actions had angered Ji Shiyou, they would be beaten to death.
"Young Master Ji, it's not my fault."
"Brother Shiyou, you can't do this."
"Get out, or don't blame me for being impolite!"
The two women crawled over, attempting to grab Ji Shiyou's legs to beg for mercy. Ji Shiyou stepped back, his aura erupting, and said coldly. Were these two women trying to frame him? Mingyue was right there, and they were trying to touch him. What if Mingyue misunderstood? Thus, Young Master Ji was extremely cautious.
Suppressed by Ji Shiyou's imposing aura, the two women left dejectedly. The private room was now empty except for Ji Shiyou and Mingyue.
"Darling, shall we go pick out dishes?" Ji Shiyou's demeanor changed instantly, from a domineering CEO to a fawning servant, as he turned and said.
"I don't feel like eating anymore, I've lost my appetite. Let's go home!" Mingyue had lost all interest. She glanced suspiciously at Ji Shiyou. Why did he look so excited?
