Hua Yi Xia Li

Chapter 101 Ambush

After the young man left, Mi Tianfu informed Long Xiao about the meeting.

Long Xiao pondered for a moment and said, "We should go, why not? I've heard the East Sea Pharmaceutical Association is overbearing for a long time, and this time I want to see just how overbearing they are."

Li Yizhen was a renowned physician in East Sea and would surely know about the situation of the East Sea Medical Association. Thus, Long Xiao called Li Yizhen.

Li Yizhen, as the vice-president of the East Sea Medical Association, had also received the meeting notification. He knew this meeting was no ordinary event and was planning to call Long Xiao to discuss it when Long Xiao called him first.

"Master, did you also receive the notice?" Li Yizhen asked.

"A young man just came and informed Mi Tianfu about the meeting, but he didn't notify me."

Li Yizhen told Long Xiao that the young man who had visited Xinglin Cao Tang earlier was the son of the president of the East Sea Pharmaceutical Association, named Lei Zhan, a returned doctoral student with some fame in the international medical community.

The president of the East Sea Pharmaceutical Association was Lei Riquan, who was also the dean of Tiantai Hospital. Tiantai Hospital was a hospital controlled by Eagle Country capital, with first-class medical facilities and doctors all graduated from medical schools in Western countries.

Long Xiao subconsciously asked, "Old Li, is the East Sea Pharmaceutical Association completely controlled by Western medicine?"

"You're right. Although there are a few Chinese medicine practitioners among the vice-presidents, we have no say whatsoever."

After listening to Li Yizhen's introduction to the East Sea Pharmaceutical Association, Long Xiao felt that the meeting was not simple and sensed a conspiracy.

"Old Li, can you find some acquaintances within the pharmaceutical association and inquire about the purpose of this meeting?"

"I also feel something is not right and was just about to go inquire. Master, I'll inform you as soon as I have any news."

The meeting was scheduled for three days later, leaving only two days to gather information, which was very rushed.

To quickly find out what the East Sea Pharmaceutical Association was up to, Long Xiao called Ji Tianfu, Luan Jiping, and Lu Tianxing, asking for their help.

There were many patients today, and Long Xiao, Mi Tianfu, and Mingyue were busy all morning.

When Xue Meiqin and Zhang Eryong finished preparing the food and called them to eat, they had just finished their morning work.

A table was set up under a tree in the courtyard. Zhang Eryong brought two bottles of white wine, and Luo Tianshui began to pour for everyone.

As Long Xiao raised his wine glass, a sense of danger washed over him. He turned and flung the glass away.

With a bang, a bullet was deflected by the wine glass and hit a pillar.

Long Xiao's gaze landed on the roof to the south. He couldn't see the sniper, only the muzzle of the gun.

He stood up, kicked over the stool he had been sitting on, and shouted, "Sniper!"

The stool flew towards the roof. Luo Tianshui followed the stool, ran a few steps, stepped onto a pillar, and went up to the roof, charging towards the muzzle on the roof ridge.

The muzzle retracted and disappeared, and then Luo Tianshui vanished behind the roof ridge.

Long Xiao rushed out of the courtyard and onto the street. He headed straight for the alleyway, intending to intercept the sniper.

As soon as he reached the alleyway, Long Xiao saw a tall figure carrying a cello case jumping onto a motorcycle.

Long Xiao turned to get his car, but then saw Zhang Eryong drive the Phantom out of the alley.

The assassin was already on a motorcycle, speeding east. Long Xiao got into the car and said, "He's heading east, follow him."

The motorcycle was fast and weaved through traffic. The Phantom followed closely. Although they didn't find an opportunity to force him to stop, they were able to keep up.

Even though Long Xiao could foresee danger after practicing the techniques from "Dragon Scripture," if the assassin continued to attack, one mistake could be fatal.

He had to catch this assassin and find out who wanted him dead.

Long Xiao watched for a while and realized Zhang Eryong's driving skills were excellent, which relieved him. As long as they didn't lose him, they would eventually find a chance to force him to stop.

Soon, Long Xiao received a call from Luo Tianshui. Luo Tianshui told Long Xiao that he had lost the assassin and that he had escaped.

"Don't worry, Er Yong and I are following him, he won't get away."

"Brother Long, this assassin might be from Hanshan Temple, be very careful."

Long Xiao had never heard of an organization called Hanshan Temple before.

"Are all assassins from Hanshan Temple very powerful?" Long Xiao asked.

Luo Tianshui only knew that Hanshan Temple was a highly organized assassin organization, but he didn't know the specifics.

"How do you know he's from Hanshan Temple?" Long Xiao asked, puzzled.

"Brother Long, assassins from Hanshan Temple have a common characteristic: they like to carry a cello case to hold their sniper rifles."

The sniper rifles from Hanshan Temple were all modified by masters within the organization, making them undetectable even during security checks at train stations and airports.

Following the assassin for just over half an hour, they crossed the Huangjiang Bridge. The traffic began to thin, and Zhang Eryong accelerated, attempting to force the motorcycle to stop.

After two failed attempts, Long Xiao said, "Hit him."

Zhang Eryong was hesitant to damage the Phantom and didn't dare to hit him directly. Now that Long Xiao had given the order, he accelerated and rammed into the motorcycle.

With a bang, the motorcycle was sent flying. The assassin on it somersaulted in the air and landed steadily on the ground.

The assassin turned his head, smiled at Long Xiao, then turned and sprinted dozens of meters before vaulting over a high wall and disappearing.

Zhang Eryong stopped the car by the high wall. Long Xiao got out and sprinted a few steps, then used the wall to propel himself over.

Behind the wall was a park. Long Xiao scanned the area from the top of the wall and quickly spotted the fleeing assassin.

"Chimei Xiaoyao Bu" was incredibly fast. Now that they were both running on foot, Long Xiao was confident the assassin couldn't outrun him.

He jumped off the wall and leisurely chased after the assassin.

The assassin ran through the crowd and quickly entered a small grove of trees. Long Xiao followed without hesitation.

As soon as he entered the woods, Long Xiao saw the assassin stop running. He stood and looked back at Long Xiao, who was about to enter the woods.

"Why did you stop running?" Long Xiao stopped and walked slowly towards the assassin, asking.

The assassin had thick eyebrows and large eyes, stood at 1.9 meters, and had a strong build, appearing formidable and powerful.

A smile spread across the assassin's face, and he said, "I don't want to run anymore. If I can't kill you, I'll be punished when I return."

"You mean you want to kill me here?"

The assassin nodded and said, "Yes, kill you here."

Long Xiao could sense that many people were ambushed around them, but he felt no sense of danger. Thus, he smiled and walked into the small grove.

The assassin's face showed surprise. He hadn't expected Long Xiao to know about the ambush and still dare to walk in.

"Attack, kill him!" the assassin shouted loudly, simultaneously pulling out two silenced pistols from his coat and pointing them at Long Xiao.

Long Xiao walked faster and faster, leaving afterimages behind him, like a phantom.

The dozen or so ambushing assassins also held silenced automatic pistols, but Long Xiao was too fast for them to lock onto their target.
