Chapter 226 Dare to touch his person!

Jiang Siyu, standing beside him, was stunned by the scene, her eyes widening abruptly.

"A'han..."

Zhan Mohan exuded an air of wildness, his handsome face subtly obscured by shadows, yet radiating a formidable presence.

He walked over, bent down slightly, and grabbed Li Huan by the collar. His voice, rich and clear, held no apparent anger, but a natural, inherent authority.

"I think you're the one who's gone mad. To openly bully an employee of my company right in front of me, you clearly don't hold me in any regard."

Upon hearing this, Li Huan suddenly burst into a wild laugh, his eyes fiercely glaring at Zhan Mohan.

"Is it because I bullied your company's employee? Zhan Mohan, stop deceiving yourself. You clearly care about this woman who's been cheating on you..."

"Ah..." Mu Linjing was almost scared to death. Having never witnessed such a scene, she was momentarily unable to react.

This was because Zhan Mohan had just landed another heavy punch on Li Huan. Li Huan's facial muscles trembled, and he scowled in pain, clearly indicating that Zhan Mohan had put sixty to seventy percent of his strength into the blow.

He nudged his tongue against his lip, a dismissive cold sneer appearing.

"It seems the last time didn't teach you a lesson after all."

Li Huan collapsed onto the ground, unable to get up. He knew he was no match for Zhan Mohan, but he couldn't swallow his pride. He instinctively recoiled slightly, raising a hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth.

"What, did I hit a nerve? Zhan Mohan, you were just born better than me, and your methods are more cunning than mine. What's so great about that? Your Zhan family might have a good reputation, but wasn't it also ruined by a woman?"

Li Huan's words completely ignited the suppressed anger within Zhan Mohan. His eyes held a murderous glint, and his other hand reached for a wine bottle behind him.

He gritted his teeth, "Since you insist on provoking me, this cannot be let go."

Just as Zhan Mohan raised his arm, about to smash the wine bottle down on Li Huan, Wei Yumeng rushed forward, disregarding everything, and grabbed his arm.

"Zhan Mohan, don't!"

Hearing Wei Yumeng's voice, Zhan Mohan froze. He subconsciously turned to look at her, her pale face etched with fear and panic.

What was she afraid of? Was she afraid Li Huan would be hospitalized and it would involve her, or was she afraid the project wouldn't be secured?

However, he didn't ask the question.

Seeing this, Jiang Siyu hurried forward and snatched the wine bottle from Zhan Mohan's hand.

"A'han, calm down."

Li Huan, also seemingly stunned by fear, his legs trembling incessantly, stared at Zhan Mohan in terror. He had never seen such a person; merely a few words had led him to pick up a wine bottle to smash him. If that blow had landed, his head would have been split open today.

"A'han, let's go back first," Jiang Siyu said, subtly maneuvering to Wei Yumeng's side and pushing her aside without anyone noticing. Wei Yumeng staggered back a couple of steps, almost falling, but was caught by Mu Linjing.

"Yumeng, are you alright?"

Wei Yumeng shook her head with a pale face, "I'm fine."

Before Zhan Mohan got up, the redness in his eyes had not subsided; it still held a fierce intensity.

"Li Huan, if you dare to spout nonsense in front of me and touch my people again, it won't be this easy."

He picked up his jacket from the sofa. As he walked past Wei Yumeng and Jiang Siyu, his gaze remained sharp, though less intimidating than before.

"Mu Linjing, you two can take a taxi back."

"Yes, President Zhan."

Zhan Mohan and Jiang Siyu left first. As Mu Linjing helped Wei Yumeng walk, she couldn't help but glare at Li Huan, who lay on the ground in pain. Wei Yumeng's gaze inadvertently swept across the sofa, where she spotted Zhan Mohan's wallet. She picked it up casually.

Outside, she intended to return it to Zhan Mohan, but their car had already driven away.

Mu Linjing looked at her worried expression, "Yumeng, what's wrong? Is there something else you need to tell President Zhan?"

"I saw his wallet on the sofa just now and wanted to return it to him."

However, since he had already left, she could only wait until tomorrow to give it to him at the company.

Mu Linjing linked her arm with Wei Yumeng's, recalling the scene from earlier, and her excitement was palpable.

"But honestly, President Zhan was so cool just now. I thought he was going to abandon you after all."

"He just thought Li Huan was being too obnoxious and saying such nasty things. Anyone would lose their temper, let alone him."

Wei Yumeng didn't want to create any overly emotional narrative for herself, nor did she believe Zhan Mohan had hit Li Huan because of her. Perhaps he was merely trying to protect the reputation of the Zhan family.

However, what Li Huan had said was indeed unpleasant. If she had been able to defeat him, she would have liked to take action herself.

Mu Linjing, however, disagreed. "Didn't you hear President Zhan tell Li Huan not to touch his people? He was referring to you, wasn't he? Just thinking about that scene makes me think President Zhan is so handsome. If you two hadn't broken up, Li Huan wouldn't have dared to bully you like this."

"Don't talk nonsense. He and I are no longer together, and he already has Jiang Siyu by his side now."

Upon hearing Jiang Siyu's name, Mu Linjing became somewhat angry.

"Exactly. I saw her push you just now. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. It's so late, let's go home." Wei Yumeng hailed a taxi by the roadside and got in.

Upon returning home, Wei Yumeng first took a bath and then went back to her room, hesitating whether to call Zhan Mohan about the wallet. But at this hour, Jiang Siyu was likely by his side.

After much deliberation, she put down her phone. If she made this call, he might again suspect her of having ulterior motives.

Mu Linjing had already retired to her room. She was probably exhausted from work today, but Wei Yumeng also felt very tired. However, today's events had made it impossible for her to calm down; her mind was a mess.

Meanwhile, Jiang Siyu was driving Zhan Mohan home. She frowned as she glanced at the preoccupied Zhan Mohan and asked without understanding.

"A'han, what was going on with you just now? You know how important this project is to the company. It was just a few drinks, and Wei Yumeng, in her line of work, has to bear that responsibility."

In her heart, she was somewhat angry. They were divorced, yet why was Zhan Mohan still concerned about others' words? He had never been like this before.

No one's words had ever stirred his emotions, but today, Li Huan had merely said a few innocuous things, yet he had resorted to violence, abandoning the project.

He claimed outwardly that he wouldn't tolerate Li Huan bullying company employees, but only she knew that he was clearly doing it for Wei Yumeng, unable to bear seeing her wronged.

Zhan Mohan rested his elbow on the car window, his mind elsewhere.

"That kid was being obnoxious. No wonder I threw a punch."

"Li Huan's words were unpleasant, but we need to cooperate with them now. A little tolerance would have passed. Why go through all this for Wei Yumeng..."

"Do I look like someone who tolerates things?"

Jiang Siyu's words were interrupted by Zhan Mohan's cold response before she could finish.

Her expression froze. In her memory, Zhan Mohan rarely spoke to her in such a forceful tone.

Zhan Mohan spotted a supermarket by the roadside. "Stop ahead, I need to buy something."

Jiang Siyu pulled the car over. As Zhan Mohan unbuckled his seatbelt, he heard Jiang Siyu call out to him.

"A'han."

He looked up instinctively. Jiang Siyu cupped his face, her lips slowly pressing against his...
