Chapter 205 She Actually Hit Zhan Mohan

The woman tilted her head back arrogantly, her eyes filled with defiance.

"You don't even see who he's holding right now, ask him yourself."

The woman pressed her face against Zhan Mohan's arm and asked in a soft, sweet voice.

"Is this your wife?"

Zhan Mohan's gaze was deep, but there was no warmth in his eyes when he looked at Wei Yumeng; instead, a hint of coldness made her heart shiver.

"Currently, yes, but soon she won't be, because today, I've filed for divorce."

Wei Yumeng's brow furrowed, her heart feeling as if it were pierced by a knife, making it difficult to breathe.

She tried desperately to explain to Zhan Mohan, "Nothing really happened between him and me, you've misunderstood."

"You were in bed together, without clothes on. How dare you tell me nothing happened? Did you want me to catch you red-handed before you'd admit it?"

Zhan Mohan's tone grew colder. If it were anyone else, he might have believed them, but this person was Xin Ran, and he wouldn't believe her.

Wei Yumeng had run off with someone else before. If he hadn't stopped her at the airport, he feared he would now have to watch her happily together with Xin Ran.

The woman beside him immediately started egging them on, her eyes glinting with smug amusement.

"So you betrayed your husband? A woman like you isn't any better than us. Since you've been caught, why bother explaining? It's best to just get divorced obediently."

"Shut up!" Wei Yumeng snapped angrily at the woman next to Zhan Mohan.

The woman was actually startled by Wei Yumeng's furious demeanor and rolled her eyes in exasperation.

Zhan Mohan didn't want to waste words with Wei Yumeng, nor did he want to hear her feeble explanations. He held the woman and prepared to get up, saying intimately to her.

"Do you have guest rooms here?"

Hearing Zhan Mohan's implication, the woman immediately understood. She smiled shyly.

"Of course, I'll pick one with a good environment for you."

Zhan Mohan, holding the woman, prepared to go upstairs. Wei Yumeng, seeing their actions, knew what they were about to do.

As the man with the woman walked past her, Zhan Mohan's face was cold, his features chiseled, making him look extremely stern.

"Wei Yumeng, the moment you agreed to meet Xin Ran, you betrayed our marriage."

With that, he turned and walked upstairs. Wei Yumeng's tears streamed down her face. She suddenly turned around and shouted at Zhan Mohan's retreating back.

"And what about you? Why are you so angry? Is it just because your Zhan family's reputation is at stake? After all this time, what do you really think of me?"

Had their time together been filled with nothing but suspicion and manipulation?

Did Zhan Mohan have even a sliver of affection for her?

Zhan Mohan's footsteps faltered. His eyes trembled slightly, his lips forming a cold, thin line. He turned around, his voice deep, yet tinged with a hint of loneliness.

"Wei Yumeng, no matter what I thought of you before, it doesn't matter now. I've given you many chances, and you didn't cherish them."

In the end, she still chose Xin Ran. Zhan Mohan had always been proud and would never settle in matters of the heart. Even if he knew his feelings for Wei Yumeng, he wouldn't beg for her pity.

Even though his heart ached, he had to endure it. Perhaps, from the very beginning, he should have severed his obsession with her. Not all women could be moved, and being good to them wouldn't necessarily change their hearts.

Effort didn't always bring rewards; sometimes, it was just a fleeting dream.

Zhan Mohan's figure finally disappeared from Wei Yumeng's sight. She stood frozen in place, like a puppet, tears gushing out uncontrollably. Only now did she realize that her feelings for Zhan Mohan far surpassed her understanding.

Seeing him affectionate with another woman, thinking about him about to be intimate with that woman, her heart ached and broke, as if a heavy stone were pressing down on her chest, making it hard to breathe.

She didn't know what was happening to her. The thought of Zhan Mohan upstairs with that woman, about to engage in their most intimate acts, made her feel like she was going crazy.

This was probably the craziest thing she had ever done. She rushed upstairs, pushing open doors one by one.

A chorus of curses followed.

"Who are you? Are you insane?"

"Ah... who are you?"

"My God, could this be someone's wife looking for them?"

"Judging by the way she's acting, it looks like it."

Wei Yumeng looked at room 1102 above. This was the last one. She was certain that Zhan Mohan and that woman were inside.

She took a deep breath, gripped the doorknob, and pushed the door open. The scene that greeted her was of the woman lying on top of the man, clutching his tie, her other hand reaching for the buttons of Zhan Mohan's shirt.

In that moment, her blood boiled, her eyes turned red, and she lunged forward, pulling the woman off Zhan Mohan.

The woman, her moment of pleasure interrupted, became enraged.

"You crazy b*tch, what are you doing! Didn't you see your man doesn't want you anymore? How dare you cling to him? You've already slept with another man, and you're still pretending to be some chaste maiden demanding he remain faithful to you? What era did you time-travel from?"

Wei Yumeng's face was etched with coldness, her eyes like sharp knives. The woman, under her intense gaze, felt a pang of unease.

She flinched, and though unwilling, got off the bed and quickly put on her coat.

"She's truly an irrational lunatic."

With that, the woman stepped past Wei Yumeng and out the door, slamming it shut with a resounding bang to vent her anger.

The room was suddenly left with only Zhan Mohan and Wei Yumeng. The man didn't seem to blame Wei Yumeng for scaring the other woman away. He propped himself up on his elbows, his eyes cold, and raised a brow, asking her expressionlessly.

"Wei Yumeng, you ruined my good time. How will you make amends?"

"I just wanted to explain to you that nothing happened between me and Xin Ran. We..."

"Come here."

Before she could finish, Zhan Mohan's cold voice interrupted her.

Wei Yumeng was momentarily stunned, looking at Zhan Mohan blankly.

Zhan Mohan spoke again, "I said, come here."

Only then did she approach him. "I... Ah..."

Just as she was about to ask if he was willing to hear her explanation, Zhan Mohan suddenly grabbed her waist, flipped over, and pinned her beneath him. She couldn't help but gasp.

The man let out a mocking cold laugh. "Since you scared that woman away, tonight, you'll take her place."

His meaning was obvious.

Wei Yumeng's face flushed crimson at his words, especially seeing his indifferent expression and his gaze, deep and unfathomable, fixed on her.

She struggled, her eyes wide with panic and anger, staring at him.

"Zhan Mohan, what do you take me for!"

He let out an evil laugh, gripping her wrists, and retorted fiercely.

"You think you're any nobler than those women? Didn't you also sleep with another man? Moreover, you're still my wife. Isn't it only right to accompany your husband? Let's see, is my technique better, or is Xin Ran's?"

"Zhan Mohan, you scoundrel!"

A resounding slap echoed through the room, and the temperature seemed to freeze. Wei Yumeng herself was stunned.

She... she actually slapped Zhan Mohan. It was over. This time, it was truly over.
