Chapter 325 Marrying You Was the Wrong Decision

Mu Linjing saw her hang up the phone and asked, "Are you really going?"

"Yes, didn't he want to talk to me about Zhan Mohan's matters?"

Wei Yumeng had figured it out by now. Since Zhan Mohan was sincere towards her, she couldn't let him down.

Mu Linjing noticed something was off in her eyes. "What's going on with you?"

"Nothing's going on. Didn't she want me to meet her? I'll go meet her, but I need to call Zhan Mohan first."

Mu Linjing was shocked. "You want to call Mr. Zhan? What for?"

"To ask him to go with me. Didn't Xin Ran want to discuss Zhan Mohan's matters?"

She didn't plan to meet Xin Ran alone again.

Mu Linjing thought this was a good idea.

"Alright, let's do as you said."

Wei Yumeng then made a call to Zhan Mohan. He had just finished a meeting and was actually planning to check the situation himself when he suddenly received Wei Yumeng's call.

The corners of the man's stern lips curved upwards, making the shareholders below look at Zhan Mohan as if they had seen a ghost.

"What's going on? Why is Mr. Zhan suddenly smiling? He looks so happy."

"Could it be that beautiful woman calling our Mr. Zhan?"

"Do you know?"

"You don't understand. A man either focuses on big projects or women. Looking at Mr. Zhan, it's highly likely a beautiful woman is looking for him."

"Doesn't Mr. Zhan have a wife?"

"Aren't they divorced?"

"Then I don't know, but judging by his expression, it's probably her."

Zhan Mohan answered the call and strode out of the conference room. Despite the joyful smile on his handsome face, his voice remained calm and steady.

"What is it?"

"Xin Ran has asked me to meet. Can you accompany me?" This was the first time Wei Yumeng had made such a request to Zhan Mohan.

Zhan Mohan was quite surprised to hear this. He hadn't expected Xin Ran to ask her for a meeting again, nor had he expected Wei Yumeng to ask him to go along.

It seemed this woman was becoming smarter.

"Yes, I'll come over now. Wait for me downstairs."

"Okay, I'll hang up now."

Wei Yumeng was actually a little afraid that Zhan Mohan would refuse.

Seeing Wei Yumeng's smiling face, Mu Linjing knew it was likely settled.

"Did Mr. Zhan agree?"

"Yes, he said he'd come down to pick me up." She felt a small flutter of joy in her heart. Women were like that; once a man took root in their hearts, it was hard to remove him.

Even though she wasn't sure if there was a future for them, she still wanted to give each other another chance.

Mu Linjing couldn't help but tease her, seeing her so happy. "Look at you."

"I'm going down now." Wei Yumeng seemed a little impatient.

Mu Linjing waved her hand. "Go, go. I can't be bothered to talk to you anymore."

When Wei Yumeng went downstairs, she saw Zhan Mohan leaning against the car from a distance. The man was tall and slender, a perfect clothes hanger. His black coat made him appear even more stern and cold.

Yet, he was captivating.

She walked over. "Why so fast?"

"You called just after the meeting ended." Zhan Mohan ruffled her hair and opened the passenger door for her to get in.

"Let's go. Xin Ran has already sent the location to my phone."

Zhan Mohan walked around the car and got into the driver's seat. "Why did he suddenly think of contacting you?"

"He said he had something about you he wanted to tell me."

Zhan Mohan snorted. "And then you called me?"

"Yes, since it's about you, shouldn't the person involved be there? What if he spouted nonsense, and I wronged you again?"

Hearing this, the smile on the man's lips deepened, and his voice became much gentler.

"You've been quite well-behaved these past two days."

"Haven't I always been well-behaved?" Wei Yumeng tilted her head up to look at him, not convinced.

The man nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, quite well-behaved. Then, here's a reward."

With that, the man cupped the back of her head and kissed her. Wei Yumeng's eyes widened, and her breath hitched.

They kissed for a long time in the car before Zhan Mohan finally released her, lifting a finger to trace her chin.

"Are you satisfied with this reward?"

Wei Yumeng's cheeks flushed, and her heart raced.

It wasn't until her phone vibrated again that she snapped back to reality.

"I need to take this call."

It was Xin Ran calling again.

Wei Yumeng put the call on speaker, not making Zhan Mohan feel uncomfortable at all. It could be said she had given him a great sense of security.

"Hello, I'm on my way now."

She hadn't told Xin Ran that she had brought Zhan Mohan along.

Xin Ran just needed to confirm. "Okay, I'll hang up now."

The two arrived at the coffee shop. As they entered, Wei Yumeng saw Xin Ran sitting in a corner. He looked much thinner after not seeing him for a while.

She and Zhan Mohan walked over. Xin Ran felt someone in front of him and guessed it was Wei Yumeng. He looked up and was about to smile at her.

"Yu..."

The moment he saw Zhan Mohan, his smile froze on his face.

"Why are you here?"

Zhan Mohan possessively and strongly put his arm around Wei Yumeng's shoulder, declaring his claim.

"You privately asked my wife to meet. Do I have to pretend not to know?"

Xin Ran's expression turned grim. What else could he do? He couldn't exactly throw them out.

He could only force himself to say, "Let's sit down first."

Zhan Mohan and Wei Yumeng sat down. Xin Ran then asked them, "What would you like to drink?"

The man waved his hand. "No need. I have to take my wife to move later. I heard you had something about me to tell Yu Meng. Since I'm the person involved, I might as well hear it to see if it's true."

Xin Ran's gaze shifted complexly to Wei Yumeng, who calmly offered an explanation.

"Since you're going to talk about him, Ah Han gets jealous easily. If I met you alone, it would only cause friction in our relationship, so it's better to be transparent like this."

Besides, she didn't want any further entanglement with Xin Ran. Frankly, if it weren't for Zhan Mohan's matter, she wouldn't have agreed.

Xin Ran wasn't one to spout nonsense; he had solid evidence.

He pulled out a document from an envelope. "I think you need to see this. During the time he broke up with Jiang Siyu, he accompanied Jiang Siyu to have an abortion and took care of her for several days. I'm not trying to sow discord between you, I just don't want you to misplace your trust."

Zhan Mohan sneered. "And is it not misplacing trust if she followed you? Knowing you have a fiancée, yet you don't stay with her and instead covet someone else's wife. What kind of character do you have?"

The implication was that if Yu Meng married you, that would truly be a misplacement of trust.
