Chapter 505 Registering the Child

The store manager could only take them to the photo studio in the back after hearing this, preparing to take the baby's hundred-day photos.

However, Zhan Mohan had already noticed the longing in Wei Yumeng's eyes. As he passed by, he carefully examined the wedding dress in front of him, an idea forming in his mind.

Taking hundred-day photos of a baby was a big undertaking. After all, babies wouldn't cooperate with the photographer by posing, and might even cry. Thus, the parents had to be by their side to help throughout.

This indeed stumped Zhan Mohan. He usually felt helpless even when holding his own child, especially with Jinzhi, who seemed to be a natural troublemaker. The moment he held him, Jinzhi would grab and scratch him.

This time, he was assigned to watch over this disobedient little fellow. He saw that Shi Qing, next to him, was obediently posing no matter how Wei Yumeng arranged her, not crying or fussing.

But Jinzhi would kick Zhan Mohan in the face no matter how he tried to position him, then continue to lie down and chew on his own little hand.

Despite Zhan Mohan's stern expression, he couldn't help but amuse the photographer and the store manager.

Wei Yumeng hadn't expected the child to be so troublesome. He was already disobedient at home, and now he was being uncooperative in public. She couldn't help but want to take over, saying, "How about I do it?"

Zhan Mohan immediately waved his hand. Could he lose to a mere toddler? If he couldn't manage him now, wouldn't he be completely out of control when he grew up?

He absolutely refused to let that happen. So, holding Jinzhi, he whispered something in the child's ear. From Wei Yumeng's perspective, it looked like a threat, his expression fierce.

However, Jinzhi merely glanced at him, as calm as ever, and continued to ignore him.

To avoid wasting time, Wei Yumeng had no choice but to forcibly send away the father who was trying to regain his dignity.

Jinzhi was quite biased. Wei Yumeng could do whatever she wanted with him, and he would even imitate adults by smiling, which greatly frustrated Zhan Mohan.

He could only focus on his own little "cotton-padded jacket." Fortunately, Shi Qing was cooperative, or else Mr. Zhan would have been utterly humiliated.

After changing clothes a few times and taking a few individual photos of the two babies, the hundred-day photoshoot was completed.

Finally, the family of four sat together for a family portrait, marking the end of the session.

During lunch, Zhan Mohan had a few drinks because he was upset by his son, so the driving duty fell to Wei Yumeng.

Wei Yumeng was more than happy; this was exactly what she needed to push her plan forward.

In the back seat, Zhan Mohan was taking care of the two children, specifically his "cotton-padded jacket." As for Jinzhi, he disdained to pay him any attention.

He hadn't looked at the road from the back seat and naturally didn't realize Wei Yumeng wasn't driving home.

When the car stopped, he was about to carry the children out when he noticed that the place they had arrived at was not their home. "Yumeng, why aren't we going home?"

Wei Yumeng pointed with her chin towards the civil affairs bureau nearby. "What do you think?"

Seeing the location, Zhan Mohan was taken aback. Were they going to remarry and get their certificates?

He knew that Wei Yumeng had been unwilling to remarry before because she felt he hadn't proposed, but he had worried that he hadn't done enough since then and had never brought it up, fearing he might upset her.

Now that she had brought it up herself, Zhan Mohan was somewhat surprised.

He watched as she took out the household registration books from her bag. The two of them, holding the children, happily got out of the car. It was probably unprecedented to come for remarriage with children in tow.

As per procedure, the staff still asked if they were sure about remarrying. Upon seeing Wei Yumeng nod affirmatively, Zhan Mohan's heart finally relaxed.

With the steel seal pressed down, Wei Yumeng kissed the two red booklets before putting them away in her bag like treasures.

"Alright, we're legal husband and wife again now. Do you know where we're going next?"

Hearing this, Zhan Mohan realized she had made arrangements in advance and followed her lead by shaking his head. "Then, Madam Zhan, where are we going next?"

She patted her bag. "Of course, to register the children's household registration. They're still undocumented right now."

Following her instructions, the family went to register the children's household registration and then returned to the Zhan family.

Presenting their documents to Grandpa Zhan, Zhan Mohan handed them over. "Grandpa, you can rest assured now. All our documents are ready, and the hundred-day banquet is prepared. You just need to attend."

Grandpa Zhan looked extremely pleased. "Good, good, finally something to make me happy."

Watching him carefully examine the documents, Wei Yumeng and the others knew he was alluding to the incident with Zhan Yichen.

Coincidentally, Wei Yumeng also wanted to probe his opinion. Now that things had taken a turn, his attitude towards Mu Linjing was very important.

She subtly gave Zhan Mohan a look, and he understood immediately. He sat down on the sofa and said, "Grandpa, about Yichen's matter, you saw the news. What do you think?"

Speaking of this, Grandpa Zhan snorted angrily through his nose. "He's truly a worry. To have something like this exposed to the public is too embarrassing for the Zhan family. Tell that boy, even if it's investigated, handle it discreetly. Does he want the results to be publicized?"

Clearly, Grandpa Zhan also believed that the incident was Wen Yulan's doing, but he cared about the Zhan family's reputation and would definitely not support Zhan Yichen publicly challenging his mother.

If there were any problems, they could be dealt with behind closed doors within the family without causing a spectacle. But to have it spread throughout the city was simply unacceptable.

Although Zhan Yichen making it public might make Wen Yulan restrain herself, this was not a long-term solution, and Zhan Mohan didn't entirely support his extreme measures.

Since Grandpa Zhan had spoken, he naturally had to restrain Zhan Yichen from acting impulsively.

He nodded and then asked, "What about the arranged marriage, Grandpa? Do you think it's still necessary to insist on it?"

This matter ultimately needed Grandpa Zhan's final decision. As long as he said no to marrying Qiao Ningzhi, Wen Yulan alone wouldn't be able to push it through.

Grandpa Zhan could obviously tell he was testing him and told him frankly.

"I know that brat doesn't like this Miss Qiao. Fine, if one is unwilling to marry and the other is unwilling to be married, why should our Zhan family go out of our way to marry a daughter from the Qiao family? Just don't cause any more scandals. Your grandfather can't afford the embarrassment."

With these words, Zhan Mohan and Wei Yumeng exchanged a smile. "Don't worry, Grandpa, I'll keep Yichen in line."

Grandpa Zhan saw the exchange of glances between the couple but didn't expose them.

Truthfully, he also preferred Mu Linjing and disliked Qiao Ningzhi.
