Zhan Yichen looked at Chai Yanyu with a serious expression. "Actually, I've always had a question. President Chai, you seem to have a big misunderstanding about the Zhan family."
He exchanged a glance with Mu Linjing at this point, then continued, "Based on some things Linjing has told me, I can feel that you truly care about my sister-in-law. So, I have reason to believe that you're doing this for a reason, believing it's for her own good, right? If you tell my brother that you and my sister-in-law are involved, then my brother might release her."
Chai Yanyu was slightly taken aback by this. He hadn't expected Zhan Yichen to hit the nail on the head.
Seeing the shock in Chai Yanyu's eyes, Zhan Yichen knew his previous deductions were all correct.
"Or, let me put it another way. Do you think someone in the Zhan family has harmed my sister-in-law? Is it my brother?"
Chai Yanyu sneered, "You're very smart. Just as you guessed, I did discover some shady dealings within the Zhan family, which is why I don't want Miss Wei to go back there."
"But do you know, for Yumeng, her family is everything?" Mu Linjing couldn't help but say, "Why don't you try to get her opinion? If you tell her what you've found, perhaps she'll make her own choice."
"What do you know? How can I tell her? She's already suffering enough. How could I bear to tell her?" Chai Yanyu felt Mu Linjing's words were too one-sided.
Zhan Yichen, however, had been observing Chai Yanyu's reaction. He was now certain that the crux of the issue, in the end, was related to Zhan Mohan.
"So, it seems my brother did something that you believe would harm my sister-in-law."
Chai Yanyu remained silent, implicitly confirming it.
"How is that possible?" Mu Linjing still found it hard to believe. "I don't think he's that kind of person."
Zhan Yichen shrugged, "I agree with you on this point. So, it's possible there's been some misunderstanding."
Chai Yanyu, upon hearing this, scoffed, "You are all Zhan family members, so of course you wouldn't think so. It's just that the onlooker sees more clearly than the player."
"Then, President Chai, could you enlighten us who are the players?" Zhan Yichen asked earnestly.
Mu Linjing nodded solemnly as well. "Perhaps if you tell us, we can think of other solutions."
Chai Yanyu looked at the two of them, with a subtle feeling that these two might be able to resolve this matter.

Mu Linjing and Chai Yanyu both looked at Zhan Yichen.
"The problem now is, what exactly did my brother and Chen Yutong do when they met at the hotel? We can just ask him directly."
Chai Yanyu scoffed at this suggestion. "How could he possibly tell the truth himself?"
"You don't need to worry about this. I will definitely inform you of the final outcome as soon as possible." Zhan Yichen said, then changed the subject abruptly. "But I still have something to ask you. Have all the things you've done so far been truly without any personal gain?"
Zhan Yichen stared directly at Chai Yanyu, who didn't back down.
Mu Linjing watched the two of them, unsure of how to react.
"From my observation, you actually like my sister-in-law a lot, don't you?" Zhan Yichen was the first to ask.
They stared at each other for a moment. Chai Yanyu didn't give him an answer, but Zhan Yichen already knew.
No man would go to such lengths for a woman purely out of friendship.
"Alright, since everything has been clarified, darling, let's head back. It's better for everyone if this is resolved sooner."
Zhan Yichen stood up, took Mu Linjing's hand, and looked at Chai Yanyu. "President Chai, it was a pleasure meeting you. We'll take our leave for today."
"Just like that?" Mu Linjing was still somewhat incredulous.
"What else do you plan to ask?"
Chai Yanyu watched the two of them leave, chatting as they went, and felt a sense of envy.
He had come to Pengcheng for Wei Yumeng. But now, things had turned out this way.
Could he still hope to win her over now? If Wei Yumeng ultimately had no intention of leaving Zhan Mohan, could he force them to be together?
Chai Yanyu himself didn't have an answer to this question.
