Wei Yumeng took a deep breath and stood up, tidying the documents in front of her.
Today, she was personally handling a new project, and the boss of this project was none other than the son of the renowned Australian billionaire, Alfred Browning. His name was Zoe Alfred.
He was representing the Alfred family's enterprises to negotiate a cross-border project with Zhan Group.
The contract for the project had not yet been finalized, meaning this negotiation was crucial and could significantly impact whether the project would proceed with Zhan Group.
This was also the first time Wei Yumeng would be meeting such an important figure alone.
It also made her recall her conversation with Chai Yanyu last night.
"What? Sister, you're meeting that Zoe fellow tomorrow?" Chai Yanyu asked, his brows furrowing in concern. "Although your abilities are unquestionable, that guy has dealt with our family before. He always likes to stir up trouble and puts on airs of a foreign noble, even a bit arrogant, as if he believes no woman in the world can resist him."
At the time, Wei Yumeng had dismissed Chai Yanyu's words as an exaggeration and hadn't paid them much mind.
However, upon actually meeting Zoe, she realized the situation was far worse than a mere exaggeration.
"You are Wei Yumeng?" Zoe asked unceremoniously, looking at her with an air of superiority.
"That's right, Mr. Alfred, I am Wei Yumeng." Wei Yumeng extended her hand in a friendly gesture.
Zoe merely glanced at it and made no move to take it.
"Hmm, you are indeed good-looking. But do you Zhan Group really think that finding a beautiful woman to entertain me will guarantee this deal? This hotel is far inferior to our estate; it's like our stable."
Wei Yumeng simply smiled. "Indeed, humble places like ours cannot compare to your noble home, sir. However, this place isn't that bad. This hotel is a five-star rated hotel according to our national standards. And I recall you are from France. The cuisine here has been officially rated Michelin three-star by your country. I believe you will enjoy it."
Zoe raised an eyebrow at Wei Yumeng. Many people he had treated this way before had been unable to endure his comparisons, and while some managed to suppress their feelings, he could still discern it.
But Wei Yumeng showed no sign of wavering and effortlessly diffused the awkwardness with her words.
Indeed, he was French, and it wouldn't do for him to criticize his own country's ratings here.
Wei Yumeng walked ahead, leading Zoe to a pre-booked private room.
"Please come in."
The room had been specially decorated. At Wei Yumeng's request, the decor had been changed to a French style, and they had even researched some of Zoe's preferences and incorporated them.
This made Zoe even more interested in Wei Yumeng. While this approach was clearly intended to please him, it had evidently succeeded.
After seating Zoe on the sofa, Wei Yumeng spoke, "All of this was specially prepared for you by our President Zhan. Regardless of whether this project is successful, we sincerely hope you have a memorable journey."
"Not bad," Zoe nodded. "But don't think that these little tricks can buy me over."
"Of course not," Wei Yumeng replied calmly. "Mr. Alfred chose our Zhan Group precisely because you believe in our capabilities, don't you?"
As she spoke, she naturally produced the pre-prepared documents.
"These are summaries of Zhan Group's overseas cooperation projects over the past period, and these are the performance records of individual companies before cooperation."
Zoe took them. The documents were clear and concise, allowing one to grasp the intended message at a glance.
Wei Yumeng continued, "In Pengcheng, Zhan Group is the only company with such overseas cooperation experience. Furthermore, when we sign contracts, we will provide you with guarantees that maximize the interests of both parties."
"Is that all?" Zoe put down the files, as if unimpressed by whatever appealing numbers they contained.
"Of course not. Beyond this, I believe no one in Pengcheng can offer a better project proposal."
Wei Yumeng's determined gaze immediately piqued Zoe's interest. "Don't be so confident. Aren't your people generally known for their humility?"
"This is not boasting; it is a fact."
Wei Yumeng said this and turned on the projector on the wall. "Next, I will detail Zhan Group's plan for this project."
Initially, Zoe's face showed disdain. In his eyes, people who made such grand claims at the outset usually ended up deceiving themselves.
However, as Wei Yumeng spoke, Zoe found himself involuntarily drawn in.
It was as if he could hear nothing else but Wei Yumeng's voice.
Even his gaze was fixed solely on Wei Yumeng's face and her moving lips.
"These are our plans. We have considered all potential issues and will prevent them at the source, ensuring our project can proceed long-term."
After Wei Yumeng finished, she bowed to Zoe.
It took several seconds for Zoe to react, and then he began to applaud Wei Yumeng.
"Very good. As you said, if your company's sincerity has reached this level, it would be rather impolite of us not to respond."
However, Zoe's tone then shifted. "We can agree to this project, but I have one condition."
Wei Yumeng nodded. "Please tell me. If we can fulfill it, we will do our best to satisfy you."
"Rest assured, it's nothing difficult. I just want one person." Zoe said, his gaze fixed intently on Wei Yumeng.
Given his status in France, he had never encountered such a bold woman.
From the moment he first saw Wei Yumeng, he felt she was different. Later, her witty responses to his provocations further intrigued him.
Her grace and composure greatly interested Zoe.
Upon hearing Zoe's words, Wei Yumeng was also startled. Currently, she was likely the only person in Zhan Group who knew Zoe, so he couldn't possibly be asking for someone he had never met.
"Miss Wei, judging by your reaction, you've probably guessed. I actually like women like you. As long as you come with me, I will agree to the cooperation with Zhan Group, and of course, I will treat you well."
Zoe looked smug, just as Chai Yanyu had described. He seemed to believe that no woman in the world could resist his charm.
