"Young Master Zhan, this is the first time I feel you're truly capable. Without your help, my matters wouldn't have gone so smoothly," Katherine said, raising her wine glass to toast Zhan Mohan.
However, Zhan Mohan didn't look at her, his gaze fixed on the red wine in his own glass.
"Now that you've gotten what you wanted, you no longer need to target Yu Meng."
Katherine chuckled, "I really don't know what's so great about Wei Yu Meng that you'd do this for her. I think you should just divorce her and be with me instead. I own the Feng Group; wouldn't that be yours eventually?"
As soon as Katherine finished speaking, she saw Zhan Mohan's icy stare turn towards her. She couldn't quite endure that coldness.
"Alright, I won't say it. Why are you so fierce?"
Zhan Mohan didn't want to stay there for another second, but things had reached this point. If it weren't for him, no one else could continue his plan.
For Wei Yu Meng, he could endure this much.
"But seriously, a good man like you, if I had met you first, I wouldn't have let you go either."
Katherine's eyes were filled with jealousy. "I just can't understand why Wei Yu Meng is luckier than me, more capable than me, and more favored by Mom and Dad. What am I lacking?"
Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke. Hadn't she done all this just to prove herself? How could she let herself live in Wei Yu Meng's shadow forever?
"Even her looks are better than mine. Why is heaven so unfair?"
Zhan Mohan remained silent, letting her vent. He, on the other hand, was thinking about what Wei Yu Meng was doing now, if the child was doing her homework properly, and when they could finally leave this place.
He was even considering calling Sydney to handle things.
Today, Katherine seemed overly happy and had been drinking non-stop since the start of the dinner.
Zhan Mohan looked at Katherine, who was drunk to the point of unconsciousness, with a look of disgust. As he dragged her out, he called Fang Xun.
"Fang Xun, drive over here immediately."
"Okay, I got it."
Mu Linjing was having dinner with some old friends she hadn't seen in a long time. They were just about to leave.
However, a figure in the distance caught Mu Linjing's attention. She could hardly believe her eyes. Why were Zhan Mohan and Katherine together? And their demeanor seemed quite intimate.
From Mu Linjing's perspective, Katherine looked like she was plastered all over Zhan Mohan.
In reality, Katherine was too drunk to stand steady. Zhan Mohan tried to push her away, but she slumped against him.
Zhan Mohan smelled the alcohol and felt nothing but disgust.
Mu Linjing immediately lost interest in her meal. All she wanted now was for Wei Yu Meng to see Zhan Mohan's true colors.
She had genuinely believed that the rumors between Zhan Mohan and Katherine before were false, but now it seemed those rumors weren't baseless.
"Lin Jing, what's wrong?"
Mu Linjing's thoughts were entirely on Zhan Mohan and Katherine, and she didn't hear her friend's voice.
Without a word, Mu Linjing walked directly towards Zhan Mohan.
"Zhan Mohan, I never thought you were this kind of person. You actually fell for this woman without any taste!" Mu Linjing was blunt.
Zhan Mohan frowned. He hadn't realized Mu Linjing was here.
Although Katherine was heavily intoxicated, she recognized Mu Linjing.
"What are you doing here? Watching me and Mohan on a date?"
Katherine wasn't afraid of stirring up trouble. She was eager to annoy Mu Linjing and deliberately hugged Zhan Mohan's arm tightly.
Zhan Mohan felt even worse at Katherine's touch and forcefully pulled his arm away.
However, Katherine didn't seem embarrassed and continued to act presumptuously.
"Since you've seen it, I have nothing to explain. Mohan is indeed dating me now. How can Wei Yu Meng compare to me? She's lost the Feng Group, and soon she'll lose her husband to me too."
Mu Linjing slapped her across the face. "You shameless woman, you'll do anything, won't you?"
After being hit, Katherine looked at Zhan Mohan with a wronged expression. "Mohan, look, this woman dared to hit me!"
But Zhan Mohan looked at her with disdain and took a large step back, as if saying he wouldn't interfere even if Mu Linjing continued.
Mu Linjing found it strange. If they were really dating, their interaction was quite peculiar.
However, since Zhan Mohan wasn't stopping her, she saw no reason to hold back.
She strode up to Katherine. "I still haven't settled accounts with you for all those past incidents. Today, we'll settle them one by one."
Mu Linjing approached Katherine, who, in turn, met her gaze defiantly.
As soon as Fang Xun arrived, he saw the restaurant in chaos.
Mu Linjing and Katherine were already fighting, neither willing to back down.
Zhan Mohan, however, remained aloof, sitting far away and watching everything unfold with a cold gaze. He only walked over when he saw Fang Xun arrive.
"Young Master Zhan, what's going on?"
Zhan Mohan had initially planned for Fang Xun to take Katherine home, but it seemed that was no longer necessary.
"Let's go. Remember to come back tomorrow to handle the compensation. It'll all be charged to Katherine."
Although Fang Xun didn't know what had happened, he felt a strange sense of satisfaction seeing Katherine being beaten.
As Zhan Mohan got into the car, he was still worried. He was currently executing his plan, so it wasn't convenient to tell Wei Yu Meng everything.
But now that Mu Linjing had seen him and Katherine together, Mu Linjing might tell Wei Yu Meng.
If that happened, it would be difficult for him to explain everything. Nevertheless, he had to continue with his plan; it was the only way.
As long as he could make Katherine lower her guard, he could find more clues from her. With those clues, he could settle all of Katherine's past wrongdoings.
Thinking this, he looked out the window. He could only hope that Mu Linjing would tell Wei Yu Meng about this later, or preferably, not at all. That would give him more time to handle the situation.
