Chapter 799 What Should I Know?

The moment Wei Yumeng saw Song Lijun fall, an invisible hand seemed to grip her heart, and she instinctively wanted to rush forward.

What was happening?

Wei Yumeng lowered her gaze to her own hands, which had moved seemingly on their own. She blinked in a daze, her eyes shifting to the Feng couple.

"Doctor, someone here has fainted." Zhan Mohan walked calmly towards the corridor and motioned to a doctor who was on his way.

Several nurses hurried over upon hearing the commotion. In an instant, Wei Anguo's ward became a scene of chaos.

The doctor admitted Song Lijun to a ward next door. After a routine check-up, he reassured Feng Zhenhua.

"She was just overly emotional, which caused a brief faint. She'll be fine after some rest."

"Thank you, Doctor!"

Feng Zhenhua's face showed evident anxiety. Even though the doctor repeatedly assured him that Song Lijun was not in serious danger, he couldn't quite relax.

Song Lijun lay on the clean white hospital bed with her eyes tightly closed. The electrocardiograph beside her beeped rhythmically.

Feng Zhenhua held Song Lijun's hand, gazing at her with worry, his eyes unwilling to leave her for a moment.

Wei Yumeng and Zhan Mohan stood behind Feng Zhenhua, exchanging a look as they observed his actions.

"Uncle Feng, don't worry. The doctor said Aunt Song will be alright," Wei Yumeng said, attempting to comfort Feng Zhenhua. Setting aside other matters, their affection for each other was truly touching.

"Thank you. But I still want to stay here and wait for her to wake up." Feng Zhenhua turned to look at them unexpectedly upon hearing Wei Yumeng's words.

His tone had softened considerably, as if he didn't want to infect Wei Yumeng with his negative emotions.

Wei Yumeng quietly watched Feng Zhenhua's back. She exchanged a look with Zhan Mohan and quietly turned to leave the ward.

It was best to leave the Feng couple to their quiet space.

Wei Anguo's ward door remained ajar. He stared blankly at everything unfolding before him, his gaze fixed on the floor, unable to snap back to reality for a long time.

Lost in thought, his mind was filled with truths he couldn't yet digest.

Zhan Mohan and Wei Yumeng returned to his ward and sat on nearby chairs.

Seeing the two uninvited guests, Wei Anguo uneasily averted his face, not daring to look at them.

Especially Zhan Mohan; if he knew he was here, he might be sent to Africa before his injuries even healed.

"Since you're awake, there's no need to be shy," Wei Yumeng said in a cool tone. She now regarded her father as a stranger.

However, there were still things she needed to ask him.

"Oh, okay." Wei Anguo opened his eyes with some awkwardness. He looked in Wei Yumeng's direction, but as soon as he saw her, he was reminded of the truth Feng Zhenhua had told him.

This so-called eldest daughter of his… was actually Old Brother Feng's daughter, and he had treated her poorly…

"How did you get injured, where, and when?" Wei Yumeng, too impatient to get entangled with Wei Anguo, asked directly.

Wei Anguo's mind was still hazy. The moment Wei Yumeng opened her mouth to speak, he thought she was going to ask about *that* matter, but it wasn't.

Recalling that day felt like a distant memory, yet every scene of his near-death experience was still vivid.

"I... I don't remember." Wei Anguo answered nervously, his eyes darting away from Wei Yumeng. He remembered his conversation with Kai.

Old Brother Feng looked rich and influential, and Zhan Mohan was not to be trifled with. If these two found out he had conspired with unknown forces to threaten Wei Yumeng, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Your brain isn't what's injured." Zhan Mohan's voice held a chilling edge. He took out the diagnosis report, placed it on the table, and tapped it.

Wei Anguo's heart leaped into his throat. He gritted his teeth. The Zhan family had long arms and legs; investigating him would be a simple matter.

"I don't know. I don't usually have enemies. Someone suddenly attacked me with murderous intent, so I'm also a victim." Wei Anguo felt his heart tremble under Zhan Mohan's icy gaze. This man was not to be provoked.

"Get to the point." Zhan Mohan shot him a cold, sharp glance. Wei Anguo was rambling instead of getting to the point.

Those three words alone were enough to scare Wei Anguo. He knew that these two were determined to make him confess today.

"At the Wei family's residence, I couldn't see their faces clearly. They were all wearing masks!" After much deliberation, Wei Anguo cautiously revealed a very general piece of information. He was unsure if he should reveal everything.

If the Zhan family managed to catch them, and those people confessed his intentions, he would be finished. Zhan Mohan might truly send him back to Africa in anger!

"Were you alone at home then?" Wei Yumeng thought of Yin Fang. These two were always at home; they should have been together that day.

Wei Anguo paused. He remembered Yin Fang had gone to the supermarket to buy groceries. If he had escaped, would those people have stayed behind?

Would Yin Fang have been captured or killed by them? Wei Anguo quickly shook his head. Yin Fang's death wouldn't affect him anyway; those people could do whatever they wanted to her.

"I only woke up not long ago. You're both asking me over and over, and I can't remember clearly. Perhaps you could come back another day?" Wei Anguo fabricated an excuse. He still couldn't look directly at Wei Yumeng, his mind was too chaotic, and he had no interest in answering their questions.

However, his words reminded Wei Yumeng of something. She recalled that just as they arrived at the door, Song Lijun had fainted. Moreover, it was evident that Feng Zhenhua and Song Lijun had been somewhat agitated. Especially Song Lijun, who had fainted the moment she saw them. So, what had they been discussing before that?

"The Feng couple, what did they talk to you about?" Wei Yumeng brought up the scene from earlier, her curiosity swirling. Song Lijun's last look at her lingered in Wei Yumeng's mind.

Wei Anguo felt even more embarrassed. Since Old Brother Feng had come clean with him, they must have told Wei Yumeng too. So he had been the clown, only learning the truth in the end.

"That, didn't you already know?" Wei Anguo frowned impatiently but tried to keep his tone pleasant. He said it casually.

No wonder Wei Yumeng hadn't been surprised at the hospital. She already knew her biological parents were far better off than her own fallen "father"…

"What should I have known?" Wei Yumeng furrowed her brows, a hint of complexity flashing in her eyes. What exactly had the Feng couple and Wei Anguo discussed in this ward?
