Chapter 797 How Can You Treat Her Like That!

Chapter 1 The Beginning

First Central Hospital, operating room.

Wei Anguo lay motionlessly on the operating table. Nurses bustled around, and doctors were working frantically to save him.

Just moments ago, Wei Anguo had lost his heartbeat.

Feng Zhenhua and Song Lijun were urgently summoned back by the hospital. Standing outside the operating room, they felt a sense of déjà vu.

"We've never waited outside an operating room for anyone before, and he's the one getting the benefit."

Song Lijun held a significant grudge against Wei Anguo. She complained in a low voice to Feng Zhenhua, casting a sideways glance at the operating room.

Feng Zhenhua smiled and put his arm around his wife. He understood Song Lijun's feelings perfectly, and he felt the same.

If they were to set aside all personal matters, they shouldn't stand by and let someone die. He had no desire to save Wei Anguo; there were simply too many reasons why not.

"Let's wait a bit longer. We can't just let him die like this."

"Right, when he wakes up, I'll definitely..."

Song Lijun agreed with Feng Zhenhua. They had paid money, contributed effort, and now they were here keeping watch.

When Wei Anguo woke up, she would make sure he knew about it!

Song Lijun made a silent resolution. She then remembered the matter that had deeply pained her, her eyes dimming.

No matter what she said now, the situation couldn't be salvaged...

Just then, the red light outside the operating room extinguished, and the doors swung open.

A doctor in a white coat emerged, sweat beading on his forehead. Wei Anguo lay on a hospital bed, being pushed back to a ward by a group of nurses.

"His condition was very critical, but fortunately, we managed to save him. You should go and see him; he should be waking up soon."

The doctor's final words struck Feng Zhenhua and Song Lijun like a blow. They couldn't help but grip each other's hands tightly.

"Alright, thank you, Doctor!"

Feng Zhenhua expressed his gratitude to the doctor. The couple hurried after the departing Wei Anguo, entering the ward together.

The couple swiped their cards, arranging a private room for Wei Anguo. This would allow for a more private conversation once he woke up.

Wei Anguo, having narrowly escaped death several times, was still trapped in the nightmare of being chased that day. His strong will to survive was what kept him going; otherwise, he wouldn't have lasted until the Feng couple arrived.

"Water... water..."

Wei Anguo's dry lips parted, and he mumbled to himself, his vision still blurry.

The anesthesia had worn off, and every part of Wei Anguo's body ached, the pain piercing to the bone, tormenting him.

This also led to his early awakening.

Hearing Wei Anguo's soft calls, Feng Zhenhua sighed and reached for a cup of water on the table, slowly pouring it into Wei Anguo's mouth.

The sweet water moistened his parched throat, bringing much-needed relief. He slowly opened his eyes, first seeing a stark white ceiling, and then the faces of Feng Zhenhua and Song Lijun leaning over him.

"You're awake?"

Song Lijun asked in a sharp tone.

At the sight of two unfamiliar people, Wei Anguo was momentarily confused. His hazy consciousness gradually cleared. He struggled to sit up but found himself immobilized.

"You have multiple contusions. You shouldn't move around."

Feng Zhenhua reminded him in a calm tone. He didn't reach out to help Wei Anguo, as there was still an account to settle between them.

Wei Anguo looked at the two people before him with a bewildered expression. He nodded sheepishly, feeling a bit awkward.

"Who are you?"

"Who else could we be? Your saviors." Song Lijun sat back down on a nearby chair. Seeing that Wei Anguo was out of danger, she let out a mocking laugh. "We picked you up from the street, brought you to the hospital, and paid for your medical expenses."

Song Lijun's barrage of sharp words made Wei Anguo's expression shift to one of panic, clearing his head even further.

Having navigated the business world for many years, he was shrewd and immediately sensed an underlying meaning in Song Lijun's words.

"My name is Feng Zhenhua, and this is my wife, Song Lijun. You should still remember me."

Feng Zhenhua held Song Lijun's hand, trying to soothe his wife's emotions. In reality, the moment he saw Wei Anguo wake up, his anger had begun to ignite.

Hearing Feng Zhenhua's words, Wei Anguo became even more confused. He sheepishly studied Feng Zhenhua. Upon closer inspection, he found the man somewhat familiar.

However, Feng Zhenhua had been younger back then.

Wei Anguo had a brief moment of recollection, recalling an old incident from many years ago when the First Central Hospital hadn't been renovated.

"You... are you Feng... Feng Zhenhua from the delivery room next door back then?"

Wei Anguo finally remembered. At that time, Gu Shuyi was about to give birth, and the hospital had called him back.

He had reluctantly gone to the maternity ward, only to find that Song Lijun next door was also about to give birth. Feng Zhenhua had been extremely nervous, and Wei Anguo had even stepped forward to tell him not to be so anxious.

The two had chatted at the entrance of the delivery room, guessing whether each other's wife would give birth to a boy or a girl.

As it turned out, both had given birth to daughters.

"That's me."

"Ah, so it's Old Brother Feng! And this must be Sister-in-law!"

As soon as Feng Zhenhua acknowledged him, Wei Anguo tried to get overly familiar, his eyes gleaming.

Looking at the setup of the ward and Feng Zhenhua's branded clothing, this "old brother" must have struck it rich!

Back then, he had dressed quite plainly. Wei Anguo never imagined that Feng Zhenhua and Song Lijun had actually been in disguise when they returned to Pengcheng years ago.

"We're not related, so don't call me that," Song Lijun said mockingly, not holding back. Even Feng Zhenhua's expression turned stern.

Wei Anguo felt extremely awkward and lost his composure. He touched the back of his head in confusion.

"What's wrong, Old Brother Feng? We were both having babies together back then, and I even guessed you'd have a girl. You even said you liked girls the most..."

This person is no good, getting rich and then turning his back on people, Wei Anguo thought to himself, spitting at the Feng couple in his mind. Although he was down on his luck now, he had been much better off than them back then.

"That's right, I do like daughters. I've always cherished my daughter like a pearl in my palm, doting on her, and wishing I could give her the best things in the world!"

Upon hearing Wei Anguo's words, Feng Zhenhua's emotions became agitated. He paced back and forth in the spacious ward, gritting his teeth as he spoke.

"But what about you, Wei Anguo? How did you treat your daughter?"

Wei Anguo looked at the sudden accusation with a bewildered expression. He thought of his daughter and looked at Feng Zhenhua with even more confusion.

This Old Brother Feng loved girls the most; he had seen that back then. But that was him, not himself.

However, even if he couldn't give his daughter as much as Feng Zhenhua, he treated her well enough.

With that thought, Wei Anguo replied.

"Wei Jin? I treat Wei Jin quite well..."

"I'm talking about your eldest daughter, Wei Yumeng!"
