After Fang Xun left, Zhan Mohan sorted through all the clues he had gathered so far in his mind.
Regarding the Wei Yumeng incident, the perpetrator had been found, and it was Wang Hua. However, no useful information had been obtained from Wang Hua's family yet. But now, by using the pretext of helping his brother with medical treatment, he could see if Wang Hua would reveal anything.
As for the relationship between Catherine and Kai, although at first glance it seemed unrelated to Wei Yumeng, their involvement could not be ruled out.
As long as Catherine was with Kai, she wouldn't have to do anything herself to achieve her goals, which would allow her to distance herself from the matter to a certain extent.
If this assumption held true, they could perhaps hypothesize Kai as the mastermind and investigate him. After all, Catherine's current goal was to become the CEO, and she should not have time for other matters.
Zhan Mohan stood up and walked out of the office, running into Fang Xun again.
"Mr. Zhan, where are you going?"
"I'm going to see Wang Hua again, to see if we can exchange useful information with him using our current leverage," Zhan Mohan paused and then said, "Also, find someone to investigate Kai's recent movements and see if there's anything strange."
Fang Xun immediately understood Zhan Mohan's meaning: "Okay, I understand."
Wang Hua was being held in a disused underground parking lot not far from the company. The reason for choosing this location was to prevent anyone from trying to abduct Wang Hua. The proximity to the company allowed him to better understand the situation.
Because of Wang Hua's cooperative behavior, Zhan Mohan did not deliberately have someone pry open his mouth. Therefore, Wang Hua no longer showed any hostility towards Zhan Mohan.
"How is my family?" Wang Hua asked nervously.
"They are all fine, and I have already provided financial assistance for your brother's illness."
Wang Hua's eyes widened in disbelief. He had done so many things to harm Wei Yumeng, yet this person was helping him. However, he knew this help was not purely out of kindness; he understood what Zhan Mohan wanted.
As expected, Zhan Mohan continued in a cold tone, "Whether your brother's illness can be treated also depends on you."
Wang Hua clenched his fists: "Okay, I can tell you some information, but I actually don't know much."
Wang Hua slowly began to speak: "Actually, I was just an ordinary employee, but because of my brother's illness, I had to take on many jobs. I don't know how that person found me, but he promised me a very generous reward."
"Was the person you're talking about a man or a woman?"
"A man," Wang Hua said very firmly. "I don't know his real name; he just told me to call him 'k'."
"Did you meet him?"
"Yes, but I never saw his face. Every time he met me, he would wear a black mask and a hat."
Zhan Mohan felt a headache coming on. He had put in so much effort, only to get the same answer from Wang Hua. Such a description was like searching for a needle in a haystack.
However, since the person behind it was a man, could it be Kai? And wasn't his name "K"?
This easily led to speculation.
"How many times did you meet him?" Zhan Mohan suddenly asked.
"Quite a few times, but always in different places."
Zhan Mohan's lips curved slightly, and he said to the bodyguard beside him, "Go get him some paper and a pen."
Then he turned back to Wang Hua and said, "Write down the corresponding meeting locations and times you had with him."
This interrogation seemed to yield no findings, but in fact, Zhan Mohan had obtained something very useful.
As long as they could determine the time and place of their meetings, they could send people to investigate and track them. If they were lucky, they might obtain corresponding surveillance footage and perhaps even directly find the mastermind.
Initially, Zhan Mohan had detained Wang Hua simply to get information from him. But now, he could not let Wang Hua go, and it was to ensure his safety.
Zhan Mohan returned home and saw Wei Yumeng playing with the children. This scene indeed relaxed his weary mood.
"Mohan, you're back." Wei Yumeng stepped forward and took off Zhan Mohan's formal jacket.
"Daddy!" the two children shouted together.
Zhan Shiqing happily ran to Zhan Mohan's side: "Daddy, Mom and I made a delicious meal for you today."
Zhan Mohan was slightly taken aback, and then his eyes were filled with tenderness.
Since they had servants at home, most of the time these matters were directly prepared by the servants. It was a rare opportunity to receive something made by Wei Yumeng's own hands.
Wei Yumeng smiled: "I know you've been busy with that matter lately, so just relax today."
Zhan Mohan had originally planned to tell Wei Yumeng about the clues he had discovered today, but seeing her like this, he decided to put all his worries aside. Just for one night, it shouldn't cause any trouble.
"Daddy, I made this dish, this one is made by Mommy, and this one is made by Brother."
Zhan Shiqing, as if presenting a treasure, introduced each dish to Zhan Mohan: "And this soup, I washed the vegetables, Brother cut them, and Mommy made it."
Zhan Jinzhi, seeing that some of the vegetables he had cut were oddly shaped, felt a little embarrassed and turned his head aside, pretending to be sulky to hide his embarrassment.
Zhan Mohan saw that both children were looking at him expectantly, as if waiting for his evaluation.
So he picked up a piece of each dish and tasted them.
"Daddy, Daddy, how is it? Is it delicious?"
Zhan Shiqing asked, a little nervously, afraid that Zhan Mohan would dislike it.
Zhan Mohan finally chuckled: "It's not bad."
Seeing this scene, Wei Yumeng's eyes were also filled with tenderness. At least she felt that today's arrangement was not wrong.
For the first time in a long time, Zhan Mohan had a relaxed evening with his family.
That night, lying in bed, Zhan Mohan held Wei Yumeng tightly in his arms. His restless hands made Wei Yumeng somewhat overwhelmed.
"Mohan, did you find anything out today?"
Wei Yumeng could only think of this method to divert Zhan Mohan's attention.
"Yes, there has been some progress. I've already asked Fang Xun to investigate."
"Sometimes I feel..." Wei Yumeng smiled awkwardly, "Are we giving Fang Xun too much work?"
Zhan Mohan was slightly taken aback: "I pay him for his work, is there a problem?"
Thinking about it this way, there really was no problem. But when he thought about it, most of the legwork and investigation was done by Fang Xun. He felt a little uneasy, like those who waited for the results.
