"Brother, how do we deal with this middle-aged woman?" the man in black licked his lips, seemingly excited by what was to come.
Upon hearing the word "deal with," Yin Fang felt a darkness envelop her vision. This wasn't a TV drama, were these lines for murder and arson?
"We only came to the Wei family to find Mr. Wei. As Kai's subordinate, you should know what your mission is," the leader of the men in black seemed very displeased with his casual attitude, his tone turning chilling.
The man in black holding the knife scoffed indignantly. Upon hearing the name, he immediately quieted down, daring not to speak.
Wei Anguo secretly listened to their conversation. He looked at these people in surprise when he heard unfamiliar names.
So these people weren't sent by the Zhan family?
"Big brothers! Since you're here for Wei Anguo, please, I beg you, let me go. This has nothing to do with me, and I won't say a single word about today's events!"
Yin Fang's eyes lit up, seizing a sliver of hope. She swallowed and said hastily.
Wei Anguo's eyes turned red. This person, at a critical moment, was so quick to distance herself from him!
"Hey, you middle-aged woman, my boss and I were talking. How dare you interrupt?"
The man in black holding Yin Fang hostage was immediately annoyed. One second he was smiling, the next he was pressing the knife against Yin Fang's fragile neck. The sharp blade moved an inch closer, slicing through the surface skin.
Yin Fang gasped and instinctively touched her neck. A searing pain erupted. She felt her cold sweat, mistook it for blood, rolled her eyes, and fainted.
Seeing this, Wei Anguo broke out in a cold sweat and didn't dare to move. He lay on the sofa obediently.
"Xiao Mu!" The leader of the men in black was displeased, a hint of anger in his voice.
"I didn't kill her. This middle-aged woman is easily scared. My knife didn't even draw blood!"
The man in black called Xiao Mu scratched the back of his head, glanced guiltily at his leader, and let go. Yin Fang fell to the ground.
The remaining men in black chuckled softly, seeming pleased to see Xiao Mu scolded so miserably.
"Forget it. Take her to a room. It's time to get down to business," the leader shook his head and looked at the clock on the wall.
Xiao Mu readily agreed and, without caring if Yin Fang was injured, dragged her by the feet and threw her into a room, then shut the door.
All eyes were now on Wei Anguo. He was startled as two men in black sat beside him and helped him up.
The leader sat directly opposite him, while the other two stood behind him, eyeing his every move menacingly.
The tape over Wei Anguo's mouth was torn off. Once he could speak freely, Wei Anguo, like a broken record, pleaded with them.
"You gentlemen, I was blind and didn't recognize your eminence just now. Please be magnanimous, don't hold it against me, and spare my life!"
Wei Anguo's pathetic appearance made the four men laugh. The leader raised a hand, and they quickly stifled their laughter.
"Hello, Mr. Wei. My name is Jin. We're here because we truly have something to discuss with you."
Xiao Jin politely stated the purpose of their visit, pushing up his wire-rimmed glasses.
These men in black were heavily disguised. Wei Anguo could only see their eyes, and he suddenly noticed they weren't black but a deep gray.
Were they foreigners?
Wei Anguo didn't have time to think and quickly bowed and scraped.
"Mr. Jin, what do you need me for? Anything I can help with, I will do my best!"
Seeing Wei Anguo's subservient demeanor, Xiao Jin figured their objective wouldn't be too difficult. He didn't waste any more words and looked at the two men behind him.
Xiao Mu and Xiao Shui nodded. One carried a black leather briefcase, the other produced two plane tickets and a check, pushing them towards Wei Anguo.
Wei Anguo looked puzzled and glanced sheepishly at Xiao Jin, not daring to ask any extra questions.
Xiao Jin clicked open the black briefcase. It was filled to the brim with cash, stacks of red banknotes that nearly blinded Wei Anguo.
"This is one million in cash, and these are the plane tickets abroad and a check for another million."
The men in black seemed unfazed by the money, a stark contrast to Wei Anguo's eyes gleaming with gold.
"I understand, Mr. Jin must have something important to entrust me with. Don't worry, I'll handle it perfectly!"
Wei Anguo was in desperate need of money. Especially after falling from grace and experiencing the richness money brought, he desired it even more.
Xiao Mu smirked at Wei Anguo's greed for money, twirling a butterfly knife in his hand and then looking away, bored.
"Mr. Wei, we don't need you to do anything grand. You just need to take your wife abroad and promise never to return to Pengcheng, and you will receive all of this."
Xiao Jin then produced a document and placed it in front of Wei Anguo. The terms were clearly written, awaiting Wei Anguo's signature.
Wei Anguo stared for a long moment, frowning as he carefully read through the document. He then reached out and touched the cash in the box. The group of men waited patiently, utterly confident he would accept immediately.
This money was real.
Wei Anguo repeated to himself. He picked up the plane tickets and looked at them. The flight was urgent, for tomorrow morning.
"Why… why do you want my wife and me to leave?"
As soon as he said this, the eyes of the men in black fixed on Wei Anguo like wolves with glowing green eyes.
"You don't need to know that," Xiao Jin slowly picked up his teacup, frowning in displeasure at the inferior tea leaves. He looked at Wei Anguo, "Besides, Pengcheng is your place of sorrow. Why not go abroad and live a carefree life?"
"Moreover, people from the Zhan family are looking for you too. If Zhan Mohan finds out you were causing trouble at the hospital today, he might fly into a rage, and then you'll have nowhere to run!"
Xiao Mu added fuel to the fire, spinning his knife and suddenly throwing it. It whizzed past Wei Anguo's temple, embedding deeply into the wall.
Wei Anguo was so startled he fell backward. He touched his temple, covered in sweat, and watched the group warily.
They knew his whereabouts. These people were likely not to be trifled with.
"Mr. Wei, what's your decision?"
Xiao Jin looked at Wei Anguo calmly, his hands clasped, gesturing to the chips on the table.
"I refuse."
Wei Anguo didn't look at the glittering banknotes on the table again. He pushed away the small black briefcase and shook his head with difficulty.
