Chapter 765 Obedient to Every Word

"How could that be? Miss Catherine is so cheerful and enthusiastic, I'll definitely remember you," Wei Yumeng said with a slight smile at Catherine, offering polite words.

"Then I won't disturb Madam Zhan's examination. See you next time!" Catherine didn't care if Wei Yumeng would remember her. She picked up her bag from the table and bid Wei Yumeng farewell.

Since she had learned of Wei Yumeng's recovery and impending discharge, Catherine felt relieved.

"Goodbye, Miss Catherine," Wei Yumeng said politely. She watched Catherine hurry out of the ward until the woman was out of sight.

Everything felt strange, but the other party hadn't done anything harmful. Wei Yumeng couldn't quite pinpoint it for the moment.

The tedious examinations finally concluded. A few nurses lingered, taking a moment to slack off.

"You, you," Wei Yumeng pointed at the nurse who had just spoken with a helpless expression, her beautiful eyes reflecting a deep sense of resignation.

The nurse touched her forehead, bewildered. She looked around at the others, then back at Wei Yumeng, who had already lain down and closed her eyes, seemingly intending to rest.

"It must be because you talked too much and annoyed Madam Zhan," a nearby nurse joked. The group nudged each other and left the ward, thoughtfully closing the door behind them for Wei Yumeng.

The moment the door closed, Wei Yumeng opened her eyes. She looked out the window at the lightning and thunder, her thoughts drifting far away.

Under the pouring rain, Wei Anguo trudged through the road, struggling to move forward in the downpour.

The path was pitted and uneven, sending up huge splashes of water from time to time, making Wei Anguo's already thoroughly soaked clothes even worse.

He limped his way home. Without an umbrella, he let the rain beat down on him. Passersby looked at Wei Anguo's frantic behavior and dared not approach him.

The doorbell rang. The ding-dong sound was like a pleasant song to Yin Fang.

She hurried to open the door, only to be stunned by the sight before her.

Wei Anguo was walking into the house like a cripple, his clothes dripping wet as if he had been soaking in water.

"Wei Anguo, how did you make yourself look like this? Where is Wei Jin? Did Wei Yumeng agree?"

Seeing Wei Anguo's terrible state, Yin Fang understood everything. She blocked Wei Anguo like a shrew, preventing him from entering.

"Can't you let me in first? I'm not only cold but my wound is hurting!"

Wei Anguo had already accumulated a belly full of anger. Seeing Yin Fang poking at his raw wound, he became agitated.

Seeing that Wei Anguo could still lose his temper, Yin Fang couldn't be sure of the outcome. She reluctantly let Wei Anguo in and went to get the first-aid kit.

Wei Anguo roared at Yin Fang, feeling a bit embarrassed. He dashed towards the bathroom and plunged in.

Yin Fang sat on the sofa waiting for a long time. Hearing the sound of water still gushing incessantly in the bathroom, she nervously jiggled her leg.

Finally, she couldn't help but rush to the bathroom door, banging on it and scolding Wei Anguo.

"Wei Anguo, are you dead in there? Do you think water is free?"

As soon as these angry words were spoken, the water immediately stopped. Wei Anguo uneasily avoided Yin Fang's gaze and sat on the sofa.

Yin Fang impatiently told him to extend his hand. A patch of light purple on his arm shocked her. She used a cotton swab to treat the bleeding wound.

"What did Wei Yumeng say? Didn't you have a way to make her agree?"

"This... I just argued with her. A woman suddenly appeared and had me thrown out by the bodyguards..." Wei Anguo mumbled uncomfortably, glancing away.

From his words, it seemed Wei Jin had not been rescued.

"What? Wei Anguo, you told me everything was fine before you left!" Yin Fang shouted. The cotton swab accidentally exerted too much force, pricking Wei Anguo's wound directly.

Wei Anguo quickly pulled his hand away, blowing on the wound. The pain contorted his face.

"Be gentler! I was beaten up by the bodyguards. I don't have a single intact spot on me. It hurts so much!"

Yin Fang glared fiercely at Wei Anguo. She threw the cotton swab down and pushed all the bottles and jars from the medicine box onto the floor.

"You couldn't even save Wei Jin. I hope you die of pain!"

"It's really not my fault. If that strange woman hadn't appeared, I would have had Wei Yumeng under control long ago!"

Wei Anguo's eyes turned red with urgency. He had been thinking of sneaking back in, but the bodyguards were watching closely. He didn't know who that woman was, so he had to return dejectedly.

"Just make up stories, Wei Anguo!" Yin Fang didn't believe Wei Anguo at all. She glared at him and stomped upstairs.

"There really was a woman!" Wei Anguo sighed and slumped back into his seat, having to pick up the scattered items himself.

Meanwhile, the stranger he mentioned, Catherine, had returned to her company. She stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the entire city.

The hazy sky and the endless downpour, which would normally bring annoyance, were met with an expression of enjoyment on Catherine's face.

Behind her stood a man in black, standing perfectly still, his gaze unwavering.

"Rainy days should be perfect for killing, shouldn't they? All traces would be washed away by the heavy rain, leaving no clue for anyone to find."

Catherine finally spoke. She ran her hand over the transparent window. Large raindrops hammered down, spreading into clear streaks on the glass as they quickly fell.

"Yes, Miss."

The man's hoarse voice emitted a low note as he spoke, his posture unchanged, maintaining a distance from Catherine.

"All dangerous factors have been eliminated. I didn't expect an unpredictable bomb to appear."

Catherine looked at her reflection in the window. First, she looked at herself, her flawless identity and face. But now her position was being shaken.

This was something she absolutely would not allow!

"Miss, I am very skilled at defusing bombs. Please leave it to me," the man, who had followed Catherine for many years, understood her unspoken meaning in an instant. He offered to take care of it first, wanting to resolve her worries.

Catherine heard this and shifted her gaze to the man's reflection in the window. A satisfied smile spread across her face. The man behind her was her most loyal hound.

However, she didn't want him to act yet.

"No, let your subordinates handle this for now. Just tell me the result," Catherine shook her head, refusing his offer.

"Yes, Miss." The man showed no dissatisfaction. He obediently agreed.

Fifteen minutes later, the doorbell of the Wei family rang urgently.
