Song Lijun opened her eyes slightly. She had vaguely overheard some conversations outside just now, but the specifics were unclear.
However, she did hear one thing: Zhan Mohan and Wei Yumeng had both begun to suspect Catherine.
Though she hadn't heard the details of the investigation, she knew that Wei Yumeng and Zhan Mohan wouldn't suspect Catherine without reason.
After the misunderstandings of the past few times, Song Lijun had to admit that Zhan Mohan and Wei Yumeng were much more objective in their judgment. She, on the other hand, always tried her best to shield Catherine because she was her daughter.
Since Catherine had previously wanted to become the CEO of Feng's Group, it didn't mean she wouldn't find another way to achieve her goals.
But if this was true, wasn't she, as a mother, a failure for raising her daughter this way?
She took a deep breath. This matter involved human lives and was on a completely different level than the previous scheming. Perhaps she really should change her previous approach and solve the problem from the root.
"Linlin," Song Lijun slowly sat up.
As soon as Catherine heard Song Lijun call her, her previous angry demeanor vanished, and she hurried to Song Lijun's side.
"Mom, how did you wake up so quickly? How are you feeling?"
Song Lijun shook her head. "I'm fine. Where did you go just now?"
Catherine was slightly taken aback, not expecting Song Lijun to ask this. However, she didn't think too much of it, as she had indeed been gone for quite some time.
"I went out to buy some things. Look, Mom, these are all your favorites."
Catherine said this while holding the food and walking over.
Looking at Catherine's appearance, Song Lijun felt uneasy. Catherine now looked like the most caring daughter, and Song Lijun really didn't want to doubt her character.
But she wasn't entirely unaware of what had happened before. As a mother, how could she not know whether Catherine had done those things?

"Mom?" Catherine called out as Song Lijun suddenly zoned out.
Song Lijun snapped back with some awkwardness. "It's nothing. Come sit down. Put the food aside for now; I'm not hungry."
Catherine then sat beside Song Lijun.
"Mom, why do you look so serious?"
Song Lijun sighed. "Linlin, actually, I've heard about something. Yu Meng already told me that this car accident was not as simple as it seemed."
Catherine was slightly stunned. Song Lijun bringing this up proactively – was it intentional or unintentional?
In the past, Catherine would have been confident she could smooth things over. But this time, it involved Song Lijun and Feng Zhenhua's lives, and she wasn't sure about Song Lijun's attitude towards it.
"Mom, what's going on?" Catherine pretended to be just learning about it, with a look of panic. "Have we offended someone?"

Song Lijun shook her head. "We don't know the details yet, but the police have already started investigating, and I'm sure they'll find out soon."
Catherine took Song Lijun's hand. "Mom, if that person didn't succeed before, aren't you and Dad in danger now?"
As Catherine spoke, she prepared to get up and check on Feng Zhenhua.
"Don't go. Your father needs more rest, and Yu Meng is likely there, so nothing will happen."
"But Mom, I'm still worried," Catherine said with a sad expression. "If I had gone to the airport with you, would all of this have been avoided?"
Tears started to stream down Catherine's face as she spoke. "Mom, seeing you like this really breaks my heart. It shouldn't have been like this; our family should have been fine."
Song Lijun looked at Catherine's demeanor and reached out to wipe her tears.
Instantly, her maternal softness wouldn't allow her to continue suspecting Catherine.
"Linlin, I'll only ask you this once. No matter what answer you give, Mom will believe you."
Hearing Song Lijun's words, Catherine nodded. "Okay, Mom, ask away. I won't lie."
"Does this car accident have anything to do with you?"
Catherine was shocked. Song Lijun had indeed asked. This meant Song Lijun had begun to suspect her.
She clenched her fist secretly. So, Wei Yumeng must have said something to Song Lijun. Otherwise, how would Song Lijun have thought of her?
She sneered inwardly. Wei Yumeng really didn't miss any opportunity to defeat her, but Catherine wasn't one to surrender easily.
Catherine suddenly knelt on the ground in front of Song Lijun. "Mom, this really has nothing to do with me. Please believe me. Catherine then stood up and threw herself into Song Lijun's arms.
"Mom, you and Dad, please get well soon, so outsiders don't blame me again."
Song Lijun gently stroked her back. "As long as you didn't do it, no one can push the blame onto you. No matter what happens, Mom and Dad will be behind you."
"If the other party is Wei Yumeng, will Mom and Dad still side with me?"
