Chapter 894 It’s All Your Fault

Wei Yumeng and Mu Linjing had already returned to the hotel. Wei Yumeng was in very low spirits because, until the very end, she hadn't seen Zhan Mohan come to the hospital to see her.

Although Wei Yumeng knew the entire misunderstanding could be serious or minor, and Zhan Mohan having some reservations was understandable, she was still very upset. Why wouldn't Zhan Mohan even give her a chance to explain?

Mu Linjing looked even more upset. "I truly never expected this. Now that you're discharged, Zhan Mohan still won't show up. He's your husband, how can he treat you like this?"

"It's not entirely his fault," Wei Yumeng said, her voice muffled. It even sounded like she was about to cry.

"Alright, alright. Let's not think about him. Even if Zhan Mohan really intends to be a scoundrel, at least I, your sister, will never abandon you." Mu Linjing hugged Wei Yumeng and gently stroked her back.

Wei Yumeng now saw Mu Linjing as her only lifeline and hugged her tightly.

Although Wei Yumeng didn't want to think of the worst, she had always wanted to believe that if she were given a chance to explain, Zhan Mohan would understand everything and wouldn't treat her so coldly.

But could she still believe it now? Wei Yumeng was even a little scared now. She feared that Zhan Mohan might eventually become a stranger to her.

Zhan Mohan had never gone this long without seeing her, which made her naturally prone to thinking the worst.

Mu Linjing looked at Wei Yumeng. "Yumeng, let's go back home. Maybe when he realizes he can't find you, he'll start to worry and might even come looking for you."

Wei Yumeng nodded. She didn't think this was a good plan, but she genuinely didn't want to stay here any longer.

Zhan Mohan called Mu Linjing several times, but she directly hung up and eventually turned off her phone.

"Damn it, what is this woman doing?"

Then Zhan Mohan called Wei Yumeng, and it was the same situation.

Mu Linjing intentionally didn't answer Zhan Mohan's calls to make him anxious, while Wei Yumeng believed that if she spoke to Zhan Mohan now, she might hear the result she feared the most. So, she decided not to answer for now, giving them both a chance to calm down.

Zhan Mohan searched all the nearby inns and hotels, and finally found news of Wei Yumeng and Mu Linjing in one of them.

"Sir, these two ladies checked out an hour ago and have left with their luggage."

Zhan Mohan was slightly stunned. Were Wei Yumeng and Mu Linjing going back home?

He knew that calling Wei Yumeng now wouldn't work, so he sent her a message instead, hoping she would see it.

"Yumeng, where are you now?"

Zhan Mohan didn't linger any longer and rushed to the airport.

Assuming Wei Yumeng and Mu Linjing intended to leave, they would have to go to the airport. With an hour's head start, they should not have boarded the plane yet.

Zhan Mohan accelerated. He had a bad feeling, a sense that if he couldn't find Wei Yumeng this time, they might truly become strangers.

Wei Yumeng sat in the airport waiting hall, still hesitant. She didn't know if leaving on her own was the right decision, but she truly didn't know how to face Zhan Mohan.

Was she waiting for Zhan Mohan to be the first to suggest they part ways?

It was already quite common for a husband to choose divorce upon learning his wife had been defiled by an outsider.

Although she knew that such a thing hadn't actually happened, what good would that do? The most important thing was whether Zhan Mohan would believe her.

Yet, she couldn't even see Zhan Mohan.

As Wei Yumeng considered returning home to let them both cool down, she couldn't help but wonder if Zhan Mohan was anxious because he couldn't find her.

At least if he was anxious, it would show that Zhan Mohan still had her in his heart.

Mu Linjing sat aside, watching Wei Yumeng's expression, and couldn't help but sigh. She truly felt sorry for the couple. But no matter what the outcome, she would always stand by Wei Yumeng.

Zhan Mohan rushed to the airport. Due to traffic congestion, he was also unsure if Wei Yumeng was still there.

He felt an unprecedented fear and panic. He felt like he was about to lose Wei Yumeng, all because of his own hesitation and confusion.

He weaved through the crowd, searching for Wei Yumeng's figure, and no passerby escaped his gaze.

However, after searching for a long time, he couldn't find Wei Yumeng. He even mistook a woman with a similar back as Wei Yumeng.

"Yumeng, where on earth are you?"

Zhan Mohan clenched his fist. He took off his jacket and loosened his tie, all to move more freely and faster.

"Flight A430 is about to depart. Passengers, please board promptly."

Mu Linjing heard the announcement and stood up. "Let's go, Yumeng. Our flight has arrived."

But Wei Yumeng's attention seemed to be drawn elsewhere. She widened her eyes and looked around, but saw nothing among the people coming and going.

"What's wrong?" Mu Linjing asked, a little confused.

"I think I just heard Mohan's voice."

A sad look crossed Mu Linjing's face. She guessed that Wei Yumeng was so preoccupied with Zhan Mohan that she was hallucinating.

"Yumeng, let's go. He wouldn't possibly come here," Mu Linjing said softly.

Wei Yumeng lowered her eyelids and nodded silently. Indeed, how would Zhan Mohan know they had come to the airport?

She finally stood up, picked up her bag, and walked towards the boarding gate.

The passengers began to queue for inspection, and Mu Linjing and Wei Yumeng joined them.

For some reason, Wei Yumeng felt uneasy, her mind in a mess, unsure of what she should do.

Just as the inspection was about to reach her, a force pulled her backward.

"Yumeng, I finally... found you."

Zhan Mohan hugged Wei Yumeng from behind, still panting from his frantic search.

Wei Yumeng couldn't believe it. "Mohan, how did you know I was here?"

Zhan Mohan just held her tightly. "How could you leave me and go? Are you getting bolder?"

In Zhan Mohan's embrace, all the grievances Wei Yumeng had felt over the past few days surged up.

"It's all your fault! You haven't visited me all this time. At most, you only spoke to me through the door. I know you were upset about that incident, but why wouldn't you even give me a chance to explain? And even if I explained, you wouldn't believe me. I felt so miserable. It's all your fault!"
