Chapter 1490 Handed Over to Those Behind

Wei Yumeng naturally told Zhan Mohan everything that had happened. Zhan Mohan frowned upon hearing it.

He hadn't expected to encounter such a situation abroad.

"I believe Mrs. Tchaikovsky already suspected that her plan was plagiarized from mine, but the circumstances at the time offered no substantial evidence to prove it."

Wei Yumeng said, still feeling a bit dejected, "I still can't figure out when they managed to succeed."

Zhan Mohan thought for a moment. "Tell me everything that happened today. I'll handle the investigation. Besides, don't you have more important matters?"

Wei Yumeng naturally hadn't forgotten. Her competition with Wen Xueshan was still ongoing.

"Okay." With the matter handed over to Zhan Mohan, Wei Yumeng felt considerably more at ease.

After recounting all her experiences of the day to Zhan Mohan, Wei Yumeng went to her room to prepare for the new plan. Meanwhile, Zhan Mohan had already formed an idea.

Ensuring he wouldn't disturb Wei Yumeng, he went to the company alone.

In fact, perhaps Wei Yumeng, as the person directly involved, hadn't considered a certain possibility, but Zhan Mohan had.

That was the possibility that within the Tchaikovsky family's enterprise, there was an inside informant for Wen Xueshan, and that person was most likely the employee who had proactively received Wei Yumeng that day.

However, to prove this, he still needed some evidence.

"Mr. Zhan, you're here."

Since Mrs. Tchaikovsky had instructed that during the collaboration with Zhan Group, the company's staff needed to fully cooperate with them.

"May I see the surveillance footage from this morning? The specific locations would be the lounge, the corridor near the lounge, or anywhere they might have passed."

"I understand." The security guard manipulated the controls, and soon the surveillance footage for that period was retrieved. "This is it."

"Alright, I'll review it myself from now on. I won't trouble you further."

The security guard asked no further questions and left, leaving the space to Zhan Mohan.

Although due to time constraints, Zhan Mohan had to review the footage at high speed, he still discovered the crux of the issue.

While the surveillance footage wasn't very clear, it was still possible to see a female employee who had received Wei Yumeng. Unbeknownst to Wei Yumeng, that person had tampered with her bag.

After Wei Yumeng left, the female employee could be seen furtively exiting the lounge via the fire escape with something.

She then proceeded to the company's rear entrance surveillance, where she was seen handing an item to someone before hastily departing.

However, the recipient was cunning. Although the female employee's face was clearly visible, the identity of the other person could not be determined.

Even though the person who swapped Wei Yumeng's contract was confirmed through the surveillance footage, it was still impossible to ascertain that Wen Xueshan was the mastermind behind it all.

Zhan Mohan pondered for a moment, then left the surveillance room and walked directly towards Mrs. Tchaikovsky's office. He believed that to fully understand the situation, Mrs. Tchaikovsky needed to be informed.

Wei Yumeng didn't know how long she had been working. The task given to her by Mrs. Tchaikovsky wasn't difficult.

Yet, it was precisely this simple task that was hard to execute with brilliance, so she had indeed spent considerable time and effort. She still felt that many areas needed further improvement and correction.

When she emerged from her room, Zhan Mohan was still there, engrossed in his laptop, seemingly working on something.

"I've already ordered dinner; it should be here soon."

Zhan Mohan said this without looking at Wei Yumeng.

Wei Yumeng walked over and sat beside him. "Are you busy with work matters?"

Wei Yumeng felt a pang of apology. Zhan Mohan had finally gotten some free time, planning for them to have a quick overseas trip.

However, after so many incidents, their stay had far exceeded the original schedule.

Zhan Mohan could only work remotely in this manner.

"Yes, but don't worry, it's nothing major."

After finishing, Zhan Mohan opened a chat window with Fang Xun and sent a message.

"Investigate the situation of Wen Ya Limited Liability Company for me."

"Wen Ya?" Wei Yumeng then recalled that this company was likely the one where Wen Xueshan worked.

Soon, Fang Xun sent them the information.

"Mohan, have you discovered something?"

Zhan Mohan nodded. "I checked the surveillance footage today. I can almost confirm that the female employee who received you earlier swapped your contract and gave the original contract belonging to you to Wen Xueshan."

Upon hearing this, Wei Yumeng also sensed the gravity of the situation.

For Wei Yumeng, the current focus wasn't on who had taken her contract, but rather on the fact that within the Tchaikovsky family's enterprise, there was someone colluding with Wen Xueshan.

Although Wei Yumeng only saw herself being affected by this incident, she couldn't imagine if Wen Xueshan would exploit this connection to obtain more information from the Tchaikovsky family.

This could even escalate to corporate espionage.

Wei Yumeng stood up. "No, we must inform Mrs. Tchaikovsky about this matter."

Zhan Mohan reached out and pulled her back, making her sit down again. "Don't get agitated yet. There's still a problem with this: insufficient evidence. Although from our perspective, we can judge that the female employee might be in league with Wen Xueshan, the video is actually too blurry to be used as evidence."

Wei Yumeng knew the regulations of this country. To resolve an issue, direct and clear evidence was essential.

"Then is there really no way to solve it?" she asked, her brow furrowed.

"There is." Zhan Mohan looked at her with complete confidence. "As long as you win this competition, Wen Xueshan's plan will not succeed."

Wei Yumeng was already under pressure, and now it would only intensify.

"Mohan, I actually don't know how well I can do this time," Wei Yumeng sighed. "Can I really win against her?"

"Of course," Zhan Mohan sounded very sure. "The ultimate winner of this project will only be you."

Wei Yumeng felt that Zhan Mohan actually had other arrangements. Just like before, on the surface, she was the one taking the lead, but behind the scenes, Zhan Mohan always ensured everything was taken care of for her.

Wei Yumeng knew that entrusting her back completely to Zhan Mohan was the right choice.

"I understand," Wei Yumeng said, looking at Zhan Mohan with sincere eyes. "I will work hard not to disappoint you."

Zhan Mohan curved his lips. "Yes, you just need to do your best. That's enough."
