Chapter 634: The True Record of Xuanzhen Daoist

With a divine sense, he traced back through the past and present of the entire Void Sea, journeying to countless chaotic epochs, before innumerable final tribulations, to the very genesis of the supreme Primordial era, meticulously planned by the True Saints, and planted his pieces.

Beings unable to transcend the broad temporal constraints of the Void Sea, unable to break free from the temporal bounds of all works within it, those still confined by time, could not perceive the actions of Venerable Yunlong.

In the eyes of some informed cultivators:

Venerable Yunlong, in the previous second, had not yet placed any pieces.

And in the next second, he possessed billions, tens of billions, even hundreds of billions of pieces.

Venerable Yunlong, it seemed, had laid out his game countless chaotic epochs ago...

...

The "True Records of the Profound True Dao Ancestor" opens with a thematic statement: the infinitely changing Void Sea always evokes a unique charm. For cultivators who have not achieved the status of Earth Immortal (by the standards of the Supreme Primordial), nor attained infinite energy, the waters of the Void Sea are an area they absolutely cannot touch.

The Void Sea is the void of all things. Within it, there are not only no rules, no matter, and no spirit, but time and space are also in disarray, and there is no concept of distance.

If one cannot achieve infinite energy and traverse the Void Sea in their true form, they will only meet a complete and utter end, lost forever. Entering the Void Sea is equivalent to losing one's life, sinking eternally into its depths, never to reach other world-works again.

Because the Void Sea has no concept of distance, areas that appear to be only one centimeter apart can actually be infinitely distant. As long as one's speed is finite, it is impossible to traverse them completely.

All finite energy, cultivators who have not achieved the Earth Immortal fruit status, and mortals, upon setting foot in the Void Sea, under that infinite distance, will never be able to reach other world-works.

The Profound True Dao Ancestor seemed to know the longing of countless cultivators across myriad world-works for the Void Sea.

Simultaneously, he pointed out in his book: within the vast Void Sea, there exists a central world named the Supreme Primordial.

The Supreme Primordial, also known as the Mythological Primordial, is the origin from which countless world-works within the Void Sea are fragmented.

It is the genesis of all world-works, and also their center.

Furthermore, in all world-works within the Void Sea's Primordial flow, although there appear to be beings who claim to be Mythological Da Luo, any Mythological Da Luo who is not from the Supreme Primordial is a false Mythological Da Luo. Only the Mythological Da Luo of the Supreme Primordial are true Mythological Da Luo.

In this current chaotic epoch, after the final tribulation, when the Mythological Da Luo created infinite world-works, the Mythological Da Luo – Immortal Yang Mei – once established a rule for the Void Sea through the Dao of Space.

That is, when within a world-work, the Void Sea has a distinction of up and down, and in terms of distance, it is possible to reach other world-works.

If one is outside a world-work, within the Void Sea, and travels in their true form, the Void Sea reverts to its original state of infinite distance.

Those who have not achieved Earth Immortal status (by the standards of the Supreme Primordial), or are still mortals (by the standards of the Supreme Primordial), if they yearn for the Void Sea, can use their entire world as a ship, treating the entire world-work as a great vessel, with themselves as crew, to navigate the entire Void Sea.

Being inside the ship, within the world-work, not having gone overboard, they are not affected by the Void Sea. Thus, distance can be delineated, and they can travel downstream to other world-works.

For mortals to reach other world-works, to navigate the Void Sea, this is the only method.

As for those who have attained immortality and the Dao, whether they are Primordial Earth Immortals or external Earth Immortals (those who have attained infinite energy, and are not cultivators of Primordial methods), they can travel the Void Sea in their true form.

This is because immortals possess infinite energy and can instantly traverse infinite distances. Even the infinite Void Sea cannot hinder the progress of an Earth Immortal.

What is an Immortal?

On this question, the "True Records of the Profound True Dao Ancestor" states on page 374:

In many world-works, there are those who are called immortals, but many so-called immortals, immortal venerates, and heavenly emperors are merely pseudo-immortals.

Pseudo-immortals are not true immortals.

True immortals can "create something from nothing," defying the law of conservation of energy. In the context of technological civilization, true immortals are also referred to as perpetual motion machines of the first kind.

In the "True Records of the Profound True Dao Ancestor," the Profound True Dao Ancestor, fearing that a simple introduction might not allow readers to understand what a true immortal is, further explained the concept of spiritual energy on page 374.

Spiritual energy, in many Xianxia worlds, refers to the spiritual energy of heaven and earth absorbed by cultivators or pseudo-immortals.

But this kind of spiritual energy, in the Profound True Dao Ancestor's view, is merely spiritual energy in a narrow sense, not spiritual energy in a broad sense.

The Profound True Dao Ancestor described it as follows: he believed that spiritual energy in its broad sense refers to all matter and spirit, all forms of energy.

Spiritual energy in its broad sense is not limited to the spiritual energy of heaven and earth that cultivators absorb. In Xianxia worlds, it is called the spiritual energy of heaven and earth; in magic worlds, it is called magic elements; in psionic worlds, it is called the primal energy of heaven and earth, or psionic energy.

In worlds with faith-based deities, the "faith" of the spirit is also a form of spiritual energy in the broad sense.

Including petroleum, minerals, water, land, and planets, these are also spiritual energy in the broad sense.

The concept of spiritual energy is very broad, encompassing even so-called laws, rules, and the Great Dao.

This is because in all world-works, even if there is no spiritual energy of heaven and earth for cultivators to absorb, there are magic elements needed by mages.

Even without magic elements, there must be psionic energy, dark matter, and other forms of energy.

If there is no psionic energy or dark matter, then there must be sentient beings. As long as there are intelligent beings, their "faith" and "mental power" can be extracted as a form of spiritual energy in the broad sense.

If there are no intelligent beings, then there must be beings that act solely on instinct, and there must be land, water sources, and planets.

If there is no land, water sources, or planets, then there must be laws, rules, or the Great Dao, time, and space.

As long as there is one form of material energy, then there is the possibility for cultivators to cultivate.

If there is no spiritual energy of heaven and earth to provide for cultivation, cultivators can transform to absorb other energies for cultivation, absorb land and water to become cultivation energy, absorb rules, the Great Dao, and laws to become cultivation energy, and absorb the faith and emotional power of sentient beings to become cultivation energy.

In the universal sense of time and space, even a mortal who is stronger than other mortals and possesses some abilities (by the standards of the Supreme Primordial) can still absorb energy from abstract concepts like time and space.

These are spiritual energy in the broad sense.

In ordinary world-works, many pseudo-immortals have not escaped the constraints of spiritual energy in the narrow sense. Often, when a period of spiritual desolation arrives and the spiritual energy of heaven and earth dissipates, pseudo-immortals cannot maintain their immortal bodies, and their eternal lifespans rapidly dwindle.
