Chapter 159: Out of Expectation

Chapter 159: Out of Expectation

When Orlenna heard that Hilla was in the baby shop, she was so excited.

The blood instantly rushed into her brain and she could only think about what Margaret had just said.

"Since Hilla is in the baby shop, she must be pregnant." Orlenna thought.

"Mom, don’t be that excited. They are a new couple. I don’t think Bruce can make Hilla pregnant this soon."

Margaret rolled her eyes inside and said.

The other day, she also thought Hilla was pregnant because Hilla became fatter.

However, it was just an illusion.

She was so upset when she knew Hilla got her period.

Margaret was expected for a nephew.

She knew that Orlenna would be in a bad mood without a grandkid. She also knew that the depressed Orlenna would cut her pocket money. But she just hit a limited edition Bugatti, she needed money.

Hearing what Margaret said, Orlenna became displeased again and said, "Bruce is better than you, at least he has a wife now."

"Mom, you’re so funny. Bruce is thirty years old now. Other men at his age already have kids at school age. Only you and grandpa like him. So you let him inherit the company. I will not be like him. I will have a kid before thirty years old."

Hearing this, Orlenna only felt tired. She rubbed her forehead and said, "That’s it. I only care when Hilla can be pregnant. Master Anderson is in poor health. Tell Bruce and Hilla to go home for a meal tomorrow. And you must go home today."

Hearing this, Margaret felt Orlenna must be in a bad temper recently.

Hilla came out of the shop and saw Margaret still leaning against the window of the shop and muttering something. Then she heard what Margaret was muttering when she approached.

"When I get married, I will have a baby as soon as possible. My child will be the first kid of the Anderson family, and then he must inherit all the property of the Anderson family. All the money will go in my bank account."

Hilla was speechless.

She thought Margaret was crazy.

"Let’s go!"

Hilla’s voice suddenly came from behind Margaret. So she turned around and naturally took the bag from Hilla’s hand. "You really bought this pair of shoes!"

Margaret put the cute shoes in her hand and decided to buy the same one for her

son in the future.

Hilla nodded. She also brought the vest so she could show it to Halle.

"Let’s go. I promised to buy you a gift."

Margaret immediately became spirited. She hugged Hilla’s arm and leaned his head on Hilla’s shoulder excitedly. "Hilla, you are the best."

"I’m the best only when I buy you gifts. As for Bruce, who never buys you anything, you only want to inherit his property, right?"

Hilla directly said it out. Margaret was kind of guilty.

She didn’t expect Hilla would hear what she had muttered just now.

"Don’t worry. The Anderson family likes boys more than girls. In the future, when you give birth to a son, you will naturally inherit Bruce’s inheritance. The inheritor won’t be me. My mother won’t let me dissipate the property."

Hilla wondered, <It is not easy for Margaret to say the Anderson family prefers boys to girls every day. She must want to arouse contradictions.

No wonder that Orlenna is that angry when she hears this. She probably wants to have another daughter.

If Margaret were my daughter, I won’t let her inherit my property. She worships money too much.>

"Are you serious?"

Hilla’s gaze fell on Margaret’s face with suspicion. Margaret was the only one who could say something against her will without even a blink.

"Of course. I’m serious. I’m absolutely loyal to you and Bruce. I don’t have any..."

"Stop. Just stop."

Hilla was afraid that she needed to buy another gift for Margaret if she continued to say.

It seemed that Margaret was in an urgent need to make money and get out of the control of Bruce.

"What do you want? Cosmetics or clothes?"

"I have enough cosmetics. Besides, the expansive cosmetics might not suit me. I don’t need clothes, too. How about jewelry? I can wear it every day to remind me of your goodness."

Margaret blinked her big eyes and smiled at Hilla kindly.

Hilla frowned and felt something was wrong.

She felt there must be a trick under Margaret’s sweet voice.

"Alright." Since she had promised Margaret, Hilla wanted to buy something Margaret

liked.

Hilla was not worried that they would max out Bruce’s credit card. She just didn’t like this feeling of using others’ money.

She preferred to have some private property.

It was more comfortable for her to spend her own money no matter how much money Bruce would give her.

"Let’s go. The jewelry store is upstairs. Let’s go and have a look."

Margaret was spirited and she pulled Hilla to the elevator happily.

As soon as they went into the jewelry store, Margaret walked towards the innermost counter and then said something with the shop assistant.

Hilla looked at the shiny jewelry on the counter. She had seen a lot of jewelry since she was a child. After all, clothes sometimes needed accessories.

However, she was still shocked by the ruby necklace taken by Margaret.

"Are you serious? Do you want me by you this?"

Hilla looked at the ruby necklace worth 500 thousand dollars reluctantly.

Margaret blinked and nodded firmly. "Yes."

Hilla didn’t want to buy this expensive necklace.

"Are you sure? This ruby necklace doesn’t seem to fit you."

Hilla tried her best to find a proper way to refuse Margaret.

"Ruby fits me well. Just buy it for me. It is already the cheapest one among those rubies!"

Margaret didn’t dare to choose these worth over 1.5 million dollars. She was afraid that Hilla would run out of the store directly.

In fact, Hilla wanted to run out now. She didn’t expect that Margaret would choose such an expensive ruby. Although it was Bruce’s credit card, she was the one to swipe the card.

While Hilla was thinking about how to refuse Margaret, an enchanting woman slowly walked into the store.

Seeing the elegant and graceful Riya, Hilla couldn’t help but feel Riya was her rival in love.

...

Margaret followed Hilla’s line of sight and saw Riya, who was tall and imposing, and her heart thumped.

What a small world! The two rivals in love ran into each other! Was it too late to leave now?

When they saw Riya, Riya also saw them.

Riya smiled when she saw Margaret but when she saw Hilla, she was a little surprised.

"What a coincidence!"

Riya walked up to them with her eyes fixed on Hilla and she was sizing Hilla up openly.

This was the first time she had looked at Bruce’s wife up close. Hilla’s eyes were especially bright, and there was a hint of stubbornness in her eyes.

It seemed that Bruce still liked women of her kind!

Hilla’s beauty was conspicuous, like a rose, not a lily. It was the same case Riya. The difference was that Riya was more elegant and Hilla was more energetic because she was younger.

"Maybe that is why Bruce doesn’t like me? Because he likes to rob the cradle?" Riya thought to herself.

But on second thought, she also met Bruce at this age. Why didn’t Bruce fall in love with her?

Maybe Bruce had fallen in love with her a long time ago, but he loved her when she was in her twenties, so he didn’t love her anymore because she got older. And Hilla looked like her younger version, so Bruce took a fancy to Hilla now.

But did it make sense? She didn’t think Bruce was interested in such a melodramatic plot of falling in love with her look-alike.

Anyway, she still didn’t know why Bruce chose Hilla over her.

"It’s not a coincidence. It’s bad luck. What do you want?"

As Margaret spoke, she stepped forward and placed herself in front of Hilla, as if she wanted to protect her sister-in-law.

Hilla didn’t think she needed to be protected, but she was still moved by Margaret’s behavior.

Margaret looked like a hen trying to protect its chicks. Riya could not help but chuckle. "Don’t be so nervous. I don’t bite. Besides, I’ve seen Miss Holt at the party held by the Richards family. She is a straightforward person, just like me."

After Riya finished speaking, she directly pushed Margaret away. Unexpectedly, Margaret blocked her way again. Riya smiled a bigger smile and turned her attention

from Hilla to Margaret.

"I heard that you finally graduated. Congratulations. Back then, it took Bruce and I spent a lot of effort to choose a major for you. Although you graduated a few years later, it’s still worth it. Oh right, what do you want for a graduation gift?"

Hilla gritted her teeth when she heard Riya’s words. Back then, she had said that she wanted to choose an easy major so she could graduate without much effort. Then she would go abroad. When she came back, she could live a comfortable life with the degree her status as the daughter of the Anderson family.

Who knew that Riya and Bruce would choose the most difficult major of law and finance for her?

To be honest, it was a miracle that she hadn’t been driven crazy by the countless terms and clauses.

That was to say, Riya was responsible for her delayed graduation!

What a scheming woman!

"No, thanks. My sister-in -law will buy me whatever I like. Besides, the Anderson family is richer than the Marley family."

Looking at Margaret’s proud face, Hilla suddenly understood why Margaret talked about how rich the Anderson family was so frequently.

It felt good to say it out loud.

Riya frowned, feeling a little wronged. "Margaret, why do I have the feeling that you are always picking on me?"

"Then trust your feeling. My brother is already married, why are you trying to sabotage it? The trick of reappearing ex-girlfriend is no longer popular. It won’t work!"

Hilla wanted to give Margaret a thumbs-up. Her sister-in-law is awesome.

No wonder Bruce couldn’t find a girlfriend in thirty years. Margaret probably contributed a bit too.

"Well, then what is the trend now?"

Riya looked at Margaret with interest. She couldn’t help but want to tease her.

Margaret lifted her face and said, "Devotion to wife and revenge on enemies after rebirth!"

Hilla’s face twitched. How many novels had Margaret read?

Riya nodded seriously. "I see. I got it!"

"You got what? No matter what, don’t pester my brother anymore. He is already married. By the way, my sister-in-law is pregnant. Do you see these baby products? They are all for my unborn nephew. Just give up on my brother!"

Margaret got excited as she talked. She had a feeling of being a heroine in a novel, teaching homewreckers a lesson. She was born to be a heroine!

Hilla didn’t expect that Margaret would say something like this.

Pregnant? Nephew? Why did all this come from?

It got even more ridiculous when Margaret tried to convince Riya by putting her hand on Hilla’s belly and said in a low voice, "Stick out your belly."

Hilla was speechless.

She was not Halle. Why would she do that?

However, she could not contradict Margaret because Margaret was still doing this for her. However, she was not good at lying. As a result, she could only stand there awkwardly and try her best to keep her composure.

Riya was stunned. She hadn’t expected this. When she looked at Hilla again, she put on a more serious face and sized Hilla up and down. Then, she fixed her eyes on Hilla’s belly and frowned.

"I knew it! She must feel threatened!" Margaret thought to herself.

Margaret was proud, even edging into cocky.

She believed that Riya was heartbroken when she knew that Hilla was pregnant and she couldn’t get back with Bruce.

"Miss Holt, you are only in your early twenties, right?"

Riya asked politely. Her voice was gentle and soft.

Hilla nodded. "I just graduated this year. I’m 21 years old."

Riya frowned and then scolded, "Bruce is a beast. He’s a bastard! I really misjudged him. You’re only 21 years old! How can he make you pregnant! If you give birth to his child, you’ll be tied to the Anderson family. As a result, you won’t have a life of your own. This is horrible! Bruce is so ruthless. Miss Holt, I really pity you!"

Margaret was furious.

Riya wanted to create strife between Hilla and Bruce! How canny!

Margaret thought that she could dissuade Riya from interfering but Riya acted in

such unexpected ways. She was a little frustrated...
