Chapter 65: Dynamic Dungeon Finale: Genesis Zero
Without a word spoken, Aiden landed right in the middle of the settlement, showing no fear whatsoever. Then he let Laela down afterward.
Behind them were about five demons with longer horns than the regular ones he’d killed earlier, and in front of them was Mazrath, the boss of this dungeon, with the longest horns of all.
Aiden didn’t need to read a book to figure out that the level of strength of a demon could be determined by how long and curved their horns were.
Mazrath stood in front of the shed Aiden needed to reach to save Rakan and Ingrid.
The demon boss raised up his broadsword and balanced its flat surface on his shoulder with a taunting grin on his face.
The demons behind also had their weapons out and were tapping gently on their palms while grinning at the humans they thought were foolish to come to their home.
It looked like the mages were in a dire situation being surrounded like that, but then Laela said to Aiden, "Whatever your plan is, I trust it fully."
"I’ll create an opening for you to go into that house and get them out," Aiden said to her in a tone that sounded like a whisper.
Laela nodded affirmatively.
Mazrath then said out loud to his demons, "Kill that human, but the elf is mine." He licked his lips in excitement.
The demons from behind immediately leaped up toward Aiden in unison to strike at him.
Aiden simply turned and stretched his right hand toward them, releasing several bolts of lightning that struck and stunned them midair while sending them backward.
This was the Raging Bolts Lightning technique that he had copied from Kayden.
Mazrath’s eyes widened at the sight of his men being sent back that way, and just when he was about to take a step into action, Aiden quickly turned toward him too and whispered, "Expand."
The giant broadsword he had been lifting over his shoulders instantly expanded to a size so extremely large and heavy that it collapsed Mazrath downward into the ground. This was a mass magic spell copied from Arianna.
"Now’s your chance!" Aiden called out, and Laela immediately darted toward the shed to help with the rescue.
As soon as she ran past and got into the holding shed, Mazrath flew out forcefully from the ground.
His body’s form had changed entirely; he had wings stretching out from his back, and his skin color had gone gray. His clawed teeth were also bigger now, and he roared out in anger toward Aiden.
The other demons were also quickly recovering and had taken a peculiar transformation as well.
Though without wings, they retained every other feature;larger clawed teeth, gray skin, and claws from their fingers that were much sharper.
"They are a lot stronger now," Aiden whispered to himself, but then a grin appeared on his face as that increase in their strength didn’t seem to matter to him.
Instead, he took a stance and made his broad flaming sword take shape in his right hand while he waited for his demon enemies to strike.
One of the five demons leaped again toward Aiden with the intent to deliver a punch.
Aiden simply sidestepped to dodge the punch while simultaneously slashing it with forceful impact using his flame sword. This impact sent the beast flying to the side while catching it in flames.
The second demon leaped forward to attack in quick succession but instead froze midair as Aiden had applied the Force Spell on its body.
Aiden then telekinetically pulled the demon much closer to himself so that he could drive his flame sword through it, effectively taking out the second demon.
The other three demons saw that two of their kind had been dispatched easily and with much stronger magic than the lightning bolts. This made them start taking steps backward slowly.
Mazrath, who watched from midair, shouted, "You weaklings!" and from both hands continued to release purple-colored magic blasts in quick succession toward Aiden’s position.
When the dust and smoke from the blasts cleared, Aiden was nowhere to be found at the spot that Mazrath had been targeting with his blast shots.
"Where did he go?!" Mazrath’s eyes kept looking around to see if he could find Aiden.
"Right here," Aiden’s voice said from directly above him, after which he kicked down Mazrath and sent the demon crashing back to the ground.
The impact the demon made with the ground caused a crater and a shockwave that ensued right after.
Aiden had avoided the multiple blasts from Mazrath by using his space skill: Void Step, to teleport away from the demon’s blast radius while reappearing above the demon.
Aiden returned to the ground, and at that moment, Laela stepped out from the shed and called out from behind him, "They are free!"
Aiden immediately turned toward that voice to see a weakened Ingrid positioned between Laela and Rakan, both of whom took one of her arms and slung it over their shoulders.
Aiden then stretched his hand in front of them and made a portal appear before them. "Get in quickly!"
And like that, they both helped Ingrid through the portal, with a corresponding portal forming right around where Katherine had just slain the last of the demons.
Now that Aiden had sent them away and was sure that no one of importance to him was within his immediate range, a devious smirk appeared across his lips; because now he could deal with these creatures appropriately without getting anyone in the crossfire.
Mazrath had struggled to stand from the crater after being kicked down with such force and managed to say, "How can a human have so much power?!"
Aiden slowly walked toward them with that grin on his face, and when he got into a range that was certain to catch them all, he simply whispered, "Genesis Zero."
A white light emanated from Aiden and wiped out every life within a 100-meter radius in all directions.
