Chapter 96: The Assembly

Chapter 96: The Assembly

"Take my fire magic to Ex Rank" Aiden said.

[Host Innate Magic has been taken to Ex rank]

There was this excitement on his face right after that notification. Wondering just how powerful his fire magic would be at that rank.

Aiden then assigned all the necessary experience points needed to level up his already existing dragon skills; Dragon’s sight, Dragon’s transformation and Dragon’s fear

The System then responded right after;

[Dragon’s fear( Lv2) → Dragon’s fear(Lv3)]

[Range increased from 200 metres → 300 metres]

[Dragon’s sight (Lv4) → Dragon’s Sight (Lv5)]

[Full rotational view: 200m → 300m]

[Focused view: 2000m → 3000m]

[Dragon’s transformation (Lv3) → Dragon’s transformation (Lv4)]

[A Prehensile Tail will grow from the Host’s when he transforms fully or chooses specifically]

Aiden nodded and then said, "show the current requirements"

[Exp Requirements]:

- 409,600 xp required to go up to Scaleborn Level 3

- 6,500xp required for Dragon’s Sight Lv.6

- 5,500xp required for Dragon Transformation Lv.5

- 4500xp required for Dragon’s Fear Lv.4

- 40000 XP required to raise Host Magic to Deity-Rank

- 50000 XP required to raise Destruction Authority to Deity-Rank

- 50000 XP required to raise Replication Authority to Deity-Rank

- 50000 XP required to raise Space Authority to Deity-Rank

[Exp Balance: 264,950xp]

"Is the rank of deity, the highest i can ever achieve?" Aiden asked the system

[Perhaps for the humans who may transcend into being a god. For you however, it is much more but this will only be revealed the further you go up in the ranks]

"Typical" Aiden said chuckling to himself, especially seeing how the system withheld the information.

Aiden then went to the next line of business which was sharing his 31 available stat points between his stats.

He assigned 10 stats each to strength and intelligence, 6 stats to Agility and 5 stats to endurance.

Strength: 61 → 71

Intelligence: 74 → 84

Agility: 53 → 59

Endurance: 51 → 56

"Status" He called out, and then the system displayed his full statistics as a player as he looked through.

His dragon meter was at 12.5, and then he had brief flashbacks of the recent cruel methods he’d taken on people. There was a flashback of Haman’s screaming and then Arianna’s after.

"Well, they deserved it" Aiden said to himself.

He laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling with a smile on his face.

And eventually, the rest of the day passed normally.

....

The Next Day..

Aiden had just stepped back into the guild’s room. He had gone to check the rankings board earlier, and he was still the No.1 initiate with 40 merit stars.

Ambrose had taken over as No2, with 38 merit stars, bringing Laela down the No.3 with 37 merit stars.

Kayden remained at the fourth position, with 35 points currently.

However they were all Stage two initiates right now. One needed only 30 merit stars to be a stage two and 70 for stage 3.

Aiden returned to their regular sitting corner and then turned to look at the mice that Elena was gently stroking the back of.

He showed a grin at it and one of his tooth grew longer and turned into a fang. The mice shrieked and dispersed into greenish and golden dust.

"Not nice Aiden.." Elena said with a little frown on her face.

Aiden chuckled a bit as he intentionally scared the messenger away.

Messengers were summons of special magic creatures which generally took the form of animals. Most mages from the rank of magic apprentice and above had one.

Primarily, as the name "Messengers" implied, they were animals mages used to deliver messages on behalf of their summoners.

They were also used as scouts to scan out the surroundings and return to the summoner with relevant information.

Only in extreme cases could a messenger be used in direct battle.

"I wonder what i’d get when it’s time to summon our messengers" Aiden said, giving the whole thing a thought.

"I feel a ton of pity for whatever poor creature that might turn out to be" Elena said made Aiden chuckle a bit more.

Most of the guild members were in different places at the moment and after a while, there was this commotion that came at the doors of Ravens Grave.

This was Talen Gawyn of the Fractured Stars Guild, and the number one mage on the student rankings of the Academy.

"Talen is here..." a mage who checked the doors came back frantically.

The Captain and the rest of the guild were currently within the main room when this happened.

She stood up then went towards the door, with Piers behind her, to understand what the commotion was all about.

"Why are you here?" Katherine asked as she was now standing before Talen who had two other mages behind him.

"Captain Katherine, Greetings. I have come here for the Initiate, Aiden. He is to answer to the Assembly for his inhuman abuse against another mage." Talen said.

The Assembly as it was called was a body made up of Academy mages. They were mostly senior ranked mages chosen from different guilds and they worked like a student union government.

These representatives had the responsibility of handling matters relating to student mages, their welfare and the likes.

His voice was audible enough that most people within the guild’s main room had heard it, including Aiden who however had an expressionless face.

People’s attention also immediately diverted towards him when Talen said he was here for Aiden.

"And ofcourse you saw no need to inform me first as part of the members of the Assembly before stepping into our guild?" Piers said, feeling disrespected.

"This is an already established fact. In that situation, there’s simply no need." He replied Piers back.

"You have the wrong Assumption Talen, get away from my guild’s wing this moment" Katherine said, she had this sudden growing annoyance written on her face.

"Do you stop me from carrying out my duties as the Enforcer?" Talen asked, with an expressionless face.

Talen was called the Enforcer of the Assembly. He was the one they called when they needed to bring an erring mage to the Assembly. He was also charged with the responsibility of dealing with mages who abused power to the detriment of other mages.

"I’m simply telling you, that you have the wrong person. Its not Aiden. And i want you to leave "

"Perhaps, the mage in question should come answer for himself" Talen replied back fearlessly, even though right infront of him was a Captain.

Aiden at this point then appeared at the door way and said, "it’s okay captain, I’m curious to see what they have levied against me"

Katherine turned towards him with a puzzled expression, "what are they talking about?" She asked

Talen then interjected, "Haman of the fractured stars have faced severe inhumane torture at the hands of Aiden"

Katherine had a startled expression then turned back towards Aiden and asked, "what is he talking about?"

Aiden said nothing for a few moments but instead looked at Talen with stern eyes. Then simply said, "I stood up in defense of our new mage, Oliver, but don’t you worry captain, let me deal with this one"

Katherine sighed, she knew why Oliver left his previous guild and knew it involved Aiden’s intervention but didn’t exactly know the full details. She decided to let it be and trust that Aiden could handle this. However, she still said "if you leave here, I cant protect you any longer"

Aiden smiled at the captain and asked, "When have i ever needed protecting"

She shook her head and sighed then said, "Alright" then she turned towards Talen and said, "Listen to me boy, you better be sure you have solid proof before your assembly mete out any punishment to my mage."

Talen said nothing in reply except stare back at Katherine.

"Don’t worry Captan, i’ll be going there too" Piers said, with a rather angry look on his face.

...

Soon after they were all at the exam halls. The Assembly also used this said hall to convey for meetings and in situations regarding this similar matter.

There was one member of the Assembly from each guild. Most of which were senior ranked mages.

The Assembly was practically made of the highest ranking mage of each guild that wasn’t the guild’s captain.

Seven of them sat infront of table on a somewhat high platform. Aiden was standing infront of them with Arms folded.

Talen, the last member of the Assembly stood closer to Aiden, and soon he began, with tendering his complaint.

"Yesterday, I received a complaint directly from a junior ranked mage of Fractured Stars, Haman. Concerning serious abuse coming from a mage of the Ravens Grave Guild, Aiden"

Then talen turned towards another door and called out, "Haman, please come in"

Haman, with his eyes faced down and a somber look walked into the halls specifically avoiding eye contacts with Aiden as well.
