Chapter 91: Looking Out For Oliver

Chapter 91: Looking Out For Oliver

Aiden couldn’t help but stop him when he came into proximity. "You don’t look so good boy, why do you have bruises on you?"

Oliver raised his head towards Aiden who spoke to him, "i-it’s nothing, I just want to take these books to the guild"

"Were you at the field where we did the supplementary spells lesson with the Captain?" Aiden asked

Oliver simply shook his head in the negative.

"Hm.." Aiden muttered, "what’s your name?"

"Oliver..." he answered, then added, "can i go now? They are waiting on me"

"Who? Wait... Oliver? Son of Garant?" realization was dawning on Aiden as he figured out who he was talking with.

Oliver squinted his eyes slightly at Aiden, "you know my father?"

Aiden nodded in the affirmative, and then Oliver squinted his eyes a bit further, "waittt you’re the mage that scored the highest ranking this year"

Oliver’s face became gleeful a bit. Then he added, "So you’re the Aiden? Man you’re really popular."

It sounded like the ramblings of a star struck child who just met an idol.

Aiden smiled a bit then said to him a bit more seriously, "now tell me, why do you have bruises on you and why did you skip out on the lessons?"

Oliver’s face went sad and somber again. He narrated how the more senior mages of the guild had been maltreating and bullying him. Especially the junior ranked mage Haman and his friends.

Aiden slowly grew agitated as he heard all of these. He also felt bed as well, given that Garant’s father had asked him to look out for his son.

Aiden then asked, "what about the captain cassian?"

"He doesn’t do anything about it. He only bothers himself with the activities of senior ranked mages and the new initiate Ambrose. The other initiates are left at the mercy of the senior mages. At this rate i’d never be a proper mage" Oliver sounded really disheartened too.

Aiden gave this some thought for a moment then said, "describe this haman"

Oliver gave him as much description as he could, and also added that the same fellow was the one that asked him to go get those spell books from the library.

"And these bruises? He as well?" Aiden asked again

Oliver simply nodded in affirmative.

He then remembered what Arianna or rather Liandrian who inhabited Arianna body at the time had told him.

She said that the only way one could have his guild changed was if he showed proof of unfair treatment from the guild captain and other members.

And right now, it was exactly what Oliver was going through. An unfair treatment from both angles.

He then asked, "Given everything, Don’t you think you should want to change guilds?"

Oliver nodded, "I would really love to, but I don’t know how possible it is"

Aiden smiled then explained the process of it and told him, he shouldn’t worry for he would help him out with that part.

Then Aiden made the books Oliver carried float away from his hands, using the Force Spell.

"This pretty elf here will go with you to the Grand Magus so that you can formally request for a guild change. For your books, let me deliver it myself" Aiden said with a devious smile.

Oliver didn’t object, he simply just nodded.

Laela smiled, with both her cheeks going red when Aiden complimented her that way, then she whispered softly into his ears, "show him".

She very well knew what Aiden was going to do or atleast had an idea of what. She had known him a while to know he’d make that sort of decision.

Aiden turned towards her with a smile on his face and nodded before proceeding away.

He went towards the guild wing belonging to Fractured Stars. He knocked on the doors after and when a mage came and answered to the knock.

"Haman asked for these books I think" Aiden said to mage who stared at him with a weird look.

"Aren’t you that new mage with the high magic rank?" He asked. Aiden gave no reply except stare back with an expressionless face.

The mage scoffed, then turned and called out, "Haman, this one’s for you!". He walked away from the door and then Haman came towards the door.

He saw Aiden carrying books and looked at him weirdly without saying anything at first. He wondered why Aiden was infront of him. "Yes what is it?"

"I believe these are the books you asked Oliver to bring" Aiden said

Haman’s grin then widened into a smirk. "Hehehe, the little twat had you do his job? Oh ho ho, he’s getting it from me again today" he rubbed his fists and licked his lips in anticipation of another beating.

Aiden smiled, then asked haman politely, "mind stepping out for a bit mate?"

Haman’s face immediately contorted. "Who is this foolish initiate giving me orders?"

Other members of the guild from inside immediately had their attention drawn to the door post after hearing Haman speak angrily.

Haman only knew of Aiden’s name, everyone practically knew of him in the Academy, but some could not put a face to the name yet. Which was Haman’s situation too. He didn’t realise he was talking to the most popular initiate.

Aiden sighed, then left the books to fall to the ground, before instantly grabbing Haman by his neck.

Without warning, Aiden used the transport spell almost simultaneously. Then he and Haman warped away from the door post.

They both landed in the middle of a random forest within the Kingdom. One of the forests Aiden and his guild mates had crossed at some point on their way to one of towns where they had cleared a dungeon

Aiden landed with his grip still on Haman’s neck. Then he flung him away to the ground, and his face contorted into a wicked grin.

Haman landed forcefully on the ground and groaned in pain. He was also still dazed from the instant disappearance earlier.

"I’m about to teach you a different type of Lesson" Aiden said, with his eyes transforming into that of a dragon’s.
