The giants were now enraged. After Jiang Fan and his companions killed their comrades, the horde of giants charged at them wildly. For a moment, Jiang Fan was at a loss.
"Be careful! Yao, they're angry now. If we continue to tangle with them, we'll likely be trampled to death. We ambushed them earlier, and now they've found us. We need to react faster. And you'd best prepare your scabbard, or your blade might get shattered again, and that would be disastrous," Jiang Fan warned.
Upon hearing this, Yao quickly checked his weapon. He cherished his blade dearly and would certainly not let these creatures off if it were destroyed.
"What should we do now? Should we run? These giants seem to be launching a fierce assault on both of us. We're in quite a difficult spot," Yao asked, his voice laced with worry.
Just as Jiang Fan felt a surge of despair, the giants seemed to hear a horn. Jiang Fan too heard the distant, booming sound and quickly looked up. He raised his binoculars and saw a giant blowing a golden horn.
As the giants heard the horn, they immediately ran towards the sound, showing no hesitation. Despite the loss of their companions, they made no move to retrieve them, rushing instead in the direction of the horn. Jiang Fan and Yao watched, utterly bewildered, unsure of the giants' intentions.
Seeing the giants flee, a group of small figures from the Candy World emerged.
"We did it! We succeeded! This is the first time we've driven them back. Our world can fight them now. As long as these heroes are here, we won't be bullied anymore."
"Exactly! They are our heroes, the saviors who can defeat those giants. We must believe in them wholeheartedly."
"Indeed, our saviors, please accept our humble bows! Although you have destroyed some of our buildings, it is all worth it. We were powerless against those giants before. Now that you have slain one, they probably won't dare to come back."
Jiang Fan knew this was absolutely impossible. While one giant had been killed, the others had fled because of the horn, not because of Jiang Fan and Yao's combat prowess. He knew that if he and Yao were to fight them, it would be impossible, and they would be killed in an instant. Jiang Fan had a clear understanding of his own strength.
However, it wasn't a bad thing for the candy folk to show him such respect. In this peculiar world, the environment was quite pleasant, and a brief rest here would be a welcome respite.
"Everyone, no need to panic. The giants have been temporarily driven back. You can come out now; it's safe. These giants probably won't attack us again anytime soon. If they do, we'll just come out and fight them again, won't we? We are not afraid. We are capable of fighting them."
After he finished speaking, the small figures nodded immediately, their cheers growing even louder, as if Jiang Fan's words were a call to action from their leader.
The dwarf king, wearing a crown, also stepped forward, looking at Jiang Fan with great excitement. He then said to Jiang Fan,
"Savior, we never expected you to be sent by the heavens to save us. Do you have any way to drive these giants away? If so, we will certainly grant you whatever you desire. Rest assured, we will help you find the exit you are looking for. In the past, others like you have come to help us fight these giants, but their strength was not as great as yours. After nearly ten of them were killed, they could only flee in disarray."
"And now, your team, with so few members, has accomplished such an incredible feat. It is truly unbelievable. Your strength far surpasses theirs. Although they were also heroes, you are the true saviors!"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Fan and Yao's expressions changed. They were shocked that anyone had managed to reach this place, and that there was such a formidable organization. To lose over a dozen people and still have a large contingent escape meant their numbers were at least around fifty.
"You mean, others have come here before?"
The dwarf king nodded repeatedly.
"Yes, indeed. Others have been here before. They were of similar size to you, and we also called them giants. However, their combat strength was definitely not as great as yours, and they have long since left. It seems they found some sort of exit and departed. We don't know where that exit is, as their large numbers prevented us from attacking them. They searched our kingdom themselves and, upon finding the exit, intended to rest here for a day, only to encounter those giants."
"They fought those giants for a day or two and, realizing they were no match for them, left this place. This plunged us into a crisis. We were helpless, and now, with your arrival, you have actually killed a giant."
"This is the most incredible thing that has ever happened to us. We never imagined these giants could be killed. We thought they were invincible. Yet, you few have managed to kill one. It's simply unbelievable! And they actually fled upon seeing you. You must have a tremendous deterrent effect on them."
Jiang Fan chuckled awkwardly upon hearing this. What deterrent effect? If it weren't for the horn, these giants would have likely trampled him to death. He had narrowly escaped danger.
