Yao continuously circled the surroundings, but he found no trace of giants. Just then, he heard a rustling sound from the nearby grass. He knew this sound couldn't be caused by the wind; it must be an animal, or perhaps someone behind him. After all, the direction the wind was blowing was completely different from where the grass rustled, proving it wasn't a natural phenomenon.
Upon hearing the sound, Yao immediately turned around, raising his guard to the highest level. He knew something was watching his every move, it just hadn't revealed itself. If it were to launch a surprise attack while he was distracted, Yao would be in serious trouble. Thus, Yao remained exceptionally vigilant, constantly scanning his surroundings for anything suspicious. However, after looking around, he found nothing out of the ordinary. The only thing that seemed strange was the direction the wind had come from; a pile of grass there had been flattened.
"There must be something near me. Why are you still hiding when I've already found you? You might as well come out," Yao said, assuming they could understand him. As he stood up, he indeed heard footsteps approaching. From that direction emerged a man with a very ferocious appearance. However, his build was similar to Yao's and Jiang Fan's, making him look like a normal person, just with injuries to his face.
"I can't believe after so many years, someone has actually managed to enter this place. Really? Who are you? Tell me your name so I can properly investigate your identity."
Yao didn't hesitate to state his name. The man before him actually possessed a device capable of looking up names. However, when he found Yao's name, he was utterly astonished. The records showed that Yao was only in his early teens, a mere child. This indicated that the man had been here for over ten years. Therefore, upon seeing this information, he wasn't entirely surprised, as the records from years ago only had Yao's information up to that point.
"It seems there are indeed powerful individuals. I thought no one else would be able to enter this place. I'm quite happy to see you today. However, once you're here, you can't leave. I've been trapped here for ten to twenty years without finding any exit. I assume you came from the Golden Coast, right?"
Hearing this, Yao's brow furrowed. Everything the man said seemed to be true and eerily similar to their own experiences. Moreover, the fact that he knew Jiang Fan and Yao had come from the Golden Coast proved that he had also been there and was very familiar with it, likely having come from there himself.
"Don't be surprised. We are also adventurers, and we came from there. So, we are very clear about your movements. We also admire your ability to come from that place. To be honest, the indigenous people there are quite threatening. We spent a lot of effort to kill all of them. I didn't expect you could do it too."
Upon hearing this, Yao was a bit confused. Why would they kill those indigenous people? They were so obedient and had helped them with so much. Killing them would be a great loss. It would have been better to negotiate with them and get along, just as Jiang Fan and the others did, to gain their assistance.
"We didn't kill the indigenous people; we chose to live peacefully with them. They agreed with our proposal and coexisted peacefully with us for a long time. We only had to leave that place. Otherwise, we would have been very willing to stay with them."
When Yao finished speaking, the man's brow furrowed. He seemed not to believe Yao's words, thinking he was boasting.
"You're talking nonsense! Something like that could never happen. They are just primitive people, created by the system. How could you have any feelings for them? Could it be that you're just trying to act tough, or perhaps you didn't come from the Golden Coast? If you came from the jungle, you might not have encountered the people from the Golden Coast, but whatever you encountered should have been quite terrifying too."
"Let me tell you, I've experienced everything you've been through. Don't try to fool me. These indigenous people are not capable of harmonious communication, and they don't understand what you say. How could you coexist peacefully with them? Aren't you just talking rubbish?"
Yao quickly tried to explain the matter of Dai Xiaomei to the man. It was purely by chance that Dai Xiaomei gained the power of the dinosaur. Jiang Fan hadn't expected that Dai Xiaomei, after acquiring the dinosaur's language, would become proficient in so many other languages, which also astonished Yao.
"Honestly, even I find it hard to believe, but it really happened. They were indeed very friendly and helped us through many difficulties. Their actions were so incredible that even we were amazed. However, this is reality. If you killed those indigenous people, we truly cannot understand why."
"But I have one very curious question: how exactly have you been here for over ten years? This place definitely couldn't have kept you trapped for so long."
Hearing this, the man burst into laughter, finding Yao's question amusing. He said,
"Did I say I was trapped here for so many years? Is there a possibility that we chose to stay here willingly, rather than being trapped?"
