At this very moment, the vine snapped.
It seemed to be because Zhou Niannian had climbed on it the first time, and then the treasure pearl attacked her.
Now the vine was a sorry sight, battered and torn.
Its broken end was clearly visible.
Upon hearing the crack, Zhou Niannian's eyes immediately sharpened.
"Wait, stop! It looks like it's about to break. If you keep pulling, the vine might snap."
Hearing this, Dai Xiaomei became even more terrified.
Jiang Fan, however, acted decisively.
"Dai Xiaomei, throw the bead in your hand towards me. I'll catch it, then I'll lure the monsters away, and you get down quickly."
Upon hearing this, Dai Xiaomei looked at the shining bead in her hand and then threw it towards Jiang Fan.
The monsters let out a furious roar, as if their ancestors had been dug up.
In an instant, they changed their target and charged towards Jiang Fan.
Jiang Fan immediately ran to the other side.
The monsters followed Jiang Fan, keeping pace with him, their footsteps quickening.
Just then, Dai Xiaomei fell, and the vine she was holding snapped. Fortunately, Gugun was right below her.
When Dai Xiaomei fell, Gugun caught her and even looked rather smug.
Dai Xiaomei was so scared she was about to wet herself. Seeing Gugun catch her, she hugged him tightly and sobbed.
"Let's go, there's no time to delay. If we stay here any longer, Jiang Fan won't be able to hold on."
Hearing this, Dai Xiaomei and Gugun snapped back to reality and immediately ran towards Yao.
At this moment, Yao realized Jiang Fan was in danger, grabbed his knife, and rushed over to relieve some of the pressure. However, it was useless.
The sheer number of monsters was too great; killing them one by one was a pipe dream.
A single slash from his knife clearly didn't kill the monsters, only inflicting minor injuries. Neither of them stood a chance against these creatures.
"Run! Stop delaying!"
Seeing that the monsters were slightly held back for a moment, Jiang Fan roared at his bewildered companions.
Zhou Niannian and Dai Xiaomei finally reacted.
Upon hearing Jiang Fan's words, they immediately took off running.
Because Yao had attacked them earlier to help Jiang Fan, he had angered the monsters. They now unleashed indiscriminate attacks, wanting to kill not only Jiang Fan but also Yao and their other companions.
"Run! They've gone berserk, and now we're all their targets. Don't fall behind!"
Hearing this, Dai Xiaomei and Zhou Niannian's hearts leaped into their throats, and they were overcome with fear.
Jiang Fan and Yao, with their superior speed, quickly ran ahead of them.
But Dai Xiaomei and Zhou Niannian lagged behind. If it weren't for Gugun protecting them, they would have been left far behind by now.
Chaos erupted at the scene. The monsters were unstoppable, smashing through all the buildings in their path. Even though some of them were smashed to pieces, they showed no signs of stopping, determined to kill the individuals before them.
Dust and debris constantly rained down from above the palace due to the violent impacts.
If this continued, the entire palace would likely collapse.
The viewers, through the cameras, felt an overwhelming sense of pressure as the horde of monsters surged towards Jiang Fan and his group like a flood.
"My goodness, they're like demons! If I were there, I'd probably wet myself."
"I admit I was too harsh saying Sister Zhou was too cowardly. I now realize none of us have half her courage."
"Isn't that obvious? If we were there, we'd be so terrified our legs would go weak, let alone run. We'd probably be dead already."
"But what are they going to do now? With so many monsters, if they catch up, they won't be able to escape."
"Professor Li, please give us some advice!"
Professor Li was watching the monsters intently.
"Although I don't know what these creatures are, I do know that if this space sustains too many more impacts from them, it will collapse very soon."
Indeed, just as Professor Li said, stones were continuously falling from above.
This was not only due to the monsters' impact but also seemingly because of the treasure pearl's protective function.
When the treasure pearl was in place, it seemed to bear the weight of the space.
Once the pearl was removed, the entire space began to shake precariously.
Jiang Fan realized this as well. While running, he used his fire axe to chop down some of the seemingly fragile pillars nearby.
There was no point in trying to preserve the structure now; it was bound to collapse soon.
This wasn't a movie. If they failed to stop the monsters, or if the space collapsed and buried them, none of Jiang Fan's group would make it out alive.
Jiang Fan and Yao, walking and hacking, shattered the pillars along their path.
As these pillars fell, they struck many monsters, incapacitating them.
Although the monsters felt no pain, disabling their legs meant they couldn't run, even if they didn't feel pain.
Even as the monsters dragged their bodies on the floor, trying to catch up to Jiang Fan and his group, it was clearly impossible.
To Jiang Fan and Yao, the threat from the monsters was not overwhelmingly terrifying. Rather, the imminent collapse of the space posed a greater danger.
It seemed that because the monsters had just been born, their balance was not yet stable. Some even stumbled and fell after a few steps.
However, even in this state, if any of the mobile and lethal monsters caught up, they still wouldn't be able to withstand them.
This pyramid, which hadn't seemed so immense at first, revealed its colossal scale once they descended into the dungeon.
They had been running through the dungeon alone for several minutes without reaching the exit.
After running for a while longer, they finally saw a faint glimmer of light from the dungeon exit.
