Chapter 261

Although they were officially together, they had never kissed before. Their intimacy had always been limited to hugs, hand-holding, and at most, a quick peck on the forehead.

Since neither of them had prior dating experience, Shen Jianxi found herself completely flustered by the sudden attack, frozen in place like a statue.

The kiss wasn't deep, just a gentle pressing of lips, yet it sent the heartbeats of all three present racing.

However, it was solely for Pu Siqi out of anger, while the other two were due to fluttering hearts.

This scene and atmosphere made her furious. She stomped her foot hard, glared at the couple, and prepared to leave, only to find the exit blocked.

Seeing this, Pu Siqi said coldly, "Excuse me!"

Hearing her words, the two who were kissing separated, their faces flushed.

Shen Jianxi, pulling the stiff man beside her, moved aside. She watched Pu Siqi pass them and leave, her posture and expression as demure as a kindergarten child who had received a gold star.

A sparse crowd had already gathered outside. Seeing this, Feng Chuyao's already red face turned even redder, as if it could drip blood.

He quickly pulled her into the office, closing the door and shutting out the prying eyes of others.

Once they were alone, Feng Chuyao looked at her, his face still red, and said softly, "I'll be done with a bit more work."

"Oh, okay," Shen Jianxi nodded.

"So..." he paused and continued, "can I continue kissing you after work?"

"Oh... what!?" Shen Jianxi looked up at him abruptly, incredulous, unable to believe those words had come from Feng Chuyao.

It seemed that once certain words were spoken, they carried a newfound courage. Feng Chuyao continued, "Can I request to go on a date with you for a while?"

Now it was Shen Jianxi's turn to blush.

His expression was so sincere and earnest that Shen Jianxi felt as if he were applying for research funding rather than asking for a date.

But this was similar to her original intention. She didn't refuse, "Okay, you finish up. I'll wait for you."

With that, she walked over to a wooden chair and sat down.

Suddenly energized, Feng Chuyao felt the fatigue of the entire day vanish. He became even more engrossed in writing his paper, eager to finish quickly and go on their date.

Shen Jianxi initially watched him work with focus, but as time wore on, she grew restless. Finally, she opened a game and started playing out of boredom.

After an unknown amount of time, during which her winning streak had turned into a losing streak, Feng Chuyao finally finished.

By this point, Shen Jianxi was already a little displeased. However, she understood that writing a paper couldn't be rushed; inspiration was precious and fleeting. Therefore, she didn't say anything, merely stood up and stretched.

But Feng Chuyao noticed her subdued mood. After fiddling with his phone for a bit, he walked over, pulled her into a hug, and apologized with a contrite expression, "I'm sorry for making you wait. But I'll be very busy recently and won't be able to go out much. So, I've just transferred some money to you. Buy yourself something you like."

Shen Jianxi took out her phone and saw a notification from Alipay about a transfer. She clicked on it and saw five zeros following the number five, which instantly brightened her mood even further. She immediately began considering a couples' trip.

Who wouldn't like money? If there was anyone, it certainly wasn't her.

As it was getting late, their planned date was no longer feasible. After a simple dinner, Feng Chuyao drove her home.

After Shen Jianxi opened the car door and stepped out, thinking about the reduced or even nonexistent dating time ahead, she suddenly leaned in towards the driver's seat and invited, "Would you like to come up for a cup of tea?"

They were adults, and even though Feng Chuyao had no dating experience, he knew what a woman inviting a man upstairs late at night implied.

His heart, which had calmed down, began to race again. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, his jaw tensed, and he nodded, squeezing out a sound from his tightly pursed lips, "Mm!"

They engaged in a harmonious, intense night of activity. The usually proper man proved to be exceptionally vigorous in bed once he'd shed his clothes.

Sweat and tears mingled, and the moon shyly hid behind the clouds.

It wasn't until the world fell silent and the last light in the building opposite extinguished that this unspeakable activity came to an end.

Feng Chuyao's back was covered in the claw marks she had made when she couldn't bear it anymore. Shen Jianxi was so exhausted she could barely lift a finger. In her semi-conscious state, she felt the man brushing strands of hair from her forehead, followed by a warm sensation on her forehead.

In her groggy state, she seemed to hear him say, "Will you come with me to meet my parents next week?"

Shen Jianxi was so drowsy she could barely comprehend anything and only subconsciously replied, "Okay."

...

The next morning, the other side of the bed was cold. Feng Chuyao was already gone.

Shen Jianxi picked up her phone from the bedside table and, as expected, found his message.

Feng Chuyao: [Sorry, I have surgery in the morning. Breakfast is ready, kept warm on the stove in the kitchen.]

She didn't rush to get up but first took leave from school. Her current state made it impossible to attend class, so she decided to rest at home for the morning.

The man had been considerate of it being her first time last night, so he had been gentle throughout, fearing he might hurt her. Because of this, Shen Jianxi could still walk normally that morning.

When she went to the living room, she discovered that Feng Chuyao had not only cooked but also cleaned meticulously, even replacing the trash bags.

Reflecting on the previous night's events, Shen Jianxi felt that this man was a very suitable candidate for marriage.
