Chapter 115 The Hospital

"It's fine, my brother can drive Grandma to the hospital, he'll definitely be very willing," Wang Muman said, worried her brother might have a business trip the following weekend, so she didn't want to change the date.

"Won't that be too much trouble?" Yan Cheng still wanted to refuse, as the check-up would take a lot of time.

"It won't be, my brother has plenty of free time during the holidays."

"Alright, I'll discuss it with him again this weekend." Yan Cheng also knew Wang Mujin's personality. Since their drunken conversation, he had come to understand Wang Mujin better.

After a day of classes, a light rain began to fall in the evening. Fortunately, there was an umbrella in the classroom, and Wang Muman and He Lele returned to the dormitory smoothly. On the way, they saw many people running, some with their schoolbags on their heads, and some even balancing their math textbooks on their heads. He Lele gave him a thumbs-up from behind.

Back in the dormitory, the four of them took a hot shower. Wang Muman sat downstairs doing problems, which made He Lele feel sleepy.

"Manman, it's already rest time, aren't you sleepy at all?" Especially since she was still working on math problems, it made He Lele feel drowsy. She directly burrowed into her quilt and closed her eyes.

"Then you sleep, goodnight," Wang Muman was still struggling with the last problem.

The weather was nice on the weekend, and the air was very fresh. Wang Mujin bought breakfast early and called Wang Muman to wake up.

Wang Muman groggily opened her eyes. She had been woken up by a nightmare in the middle of the night and had finally managed to fall back asleep, so she slept in late. After quickly washing up, she almost fell asleep while eating breakfast in the car.

When the car door was opened again, Yan Cheng saw Wang Muman, who still held half a bun in her hand and had her eyes closed. He swallowed the words that were about to come out and greeted Wang Mujin in the driver's seat.

"She didn't sleep well yesterday," Wang Mujin said, seeing his sister's dazed appearance in the rearview mirror.

Yan Cheng carefully took the bun away, but Wang Muman was still roused.

"Mmm, good morning," Wang Muman rubbed her eyes. "Good morning, Grandma!"

Yan Cheng's grandmother, sitting in the passenger seat, turned her head to greet her upon hearing the voice. Traveling by car made her feel dizzy easily; she always sat by the window to feel the breeze when taking the bus.

Yan Cheng handed the bun back to Wang Muman. Hearing her voice after just waking up, soft and weak, he thought she was indeed different from the "old men" in the dormitory.

"Have some water, your mouth is all pale," Yan Cheng saw water nearby and handed it to Wang Muman.

"Thank you," Wang Muman had intended to drink water after finishing her bun, but she didn't want to disappoint his kindness and took a sip.

Yan Cheng noticed that Wang Muman chewed half a bun for a long time, seeming to need a lot of effort to swallow it, which surprised him a little.

"Grandma, is this the hospital?" Wang Mujin pointed to the hospital ahead.

Yan Cheng's grandmother nodded, "Yes, yes, yes."

After getting out of the car, Yan Cheng's grandmother still said, "Thank you for your trouble. If you have anything to do, you can go ahead. Little Cheng and I will be fine."

"It's nothing, Muman and I have nothing to do at home. We can just accompany Muman to see the doctor. She wants to be a doctor," Wang Mujin waved his hand.

"Being a doctor is good, you can save many people," Yan Cheng's grandmother looked at Wang Muman.

Wang Muman smiled in response. For her, she just didn't want to see another one of her appear.

Thus, they all entered the hospital. After a series of examinations, the four of them sat in their seats, waiting for the results.

There were many people coming and going, some hurried, some slow, some sad, some fearful. The crying of children and the voices of parents coaxing them mingled together. Hospitals were, after all, places of birth, aging, sickness, and death.
